    Awesome work! I do have a few of comments though.
    1. There are many beautiful and desirable pieces you have shown. But two pieces really stand out for me. Both are from your 'Unglazed Challenge' (A) at time mark 0:50 and of course (B) the one you really liked at time mark 3:37 (it's a masterpiece). They are so striking with their coloration and the larger pot is so lovely architecturally and texturally too. The gradation of the dark to lighter color is wonderful. Best of all they are beautiful pots that would not visually overpower the trees in side them.
    2. Although I prefer non glazed bonsai pots, the glaze you decided to stop using due to cost produced very desirable results, just awesome. It's your first pot out on 'Kiln Opening - Stoneware Ceramics and Bonsai Pottery - Cone 8 firing.'
    3. I notice that you use a tool to create a rough texture on the inside of the pots. I have never experienced a pot with a rough interior. Might this make it difficult to remove the tree at repotting time?
    Unfortunately I live 8000 Km away near the Pacific coast of North America. So I'll probably just be admiring your wonderful work from afar. Thanks for showing us your superior products and methods!

      1 - the pot at 3:37, I had already forgotten it, I would have to do more (in the end, I didn't keep it for myself ;)).
      2 - I hope that the price of lithium will become reasonable again and that I will be able to do this enamel again, I know that it is very popular. Plus, it took me a lot of research to develop it.
      3 - Perhaps the trees are a little more difficult to remove from the pot, but one of the advantages is that the trees also become more quickly stable in the pot. But the main advantage is that the roots go down instead of making "buns" that rotate in the pot. it's very effective.
      The Japanese did this in the past when pottery was made by hand. that's a bit lost with mass production and molding. There are still a few rare masters who do it.

    How do you glaze just the side like that on the bigger pots? Amazing skill. I love the little ones actually like the three petal lotus shape :)

    • @kennethreister7619
      @kennethreister7619 3 місяці тому

      Typically potters will brush on a wax resist on portions that they don't want the unfired glaze to stick. I don't know if Greg uses wax resist or whether he is just very careful and skilled with his glaze application.

      @@kennethreister7619 Yes - that would be a lot of wax, no? Did you see the size of his pots XD.

      I glaze all my pots with brushes (and it takes a long time). I don't use wax ;)

    Love your pots and videos. Hope I can ask this question, I have trouble with the unglazed pots showing the dark and light using a wash, is there any points you can give me to accomplish this? Thank you

      Do you mean that you have difficulty obtaining a beautiful result?
      It took a lot of practice to know how to scrub the pots and when to stop to get nice shades.
      I rub the pot, making smaller and smaller circles with each pass.

    • @barbarabould799
      @barbarabould799 3 місяці тому

      @@Greg-ceramics yes, I seem to wipe too much off and then it looks the same all over and I don’t have the two shades like light and dark. I’ll have to just keep on practicing. Thank you
