@paefoiaefoiaef I think that counts because for years he was very weak and after the buff it was pretty much agreed that he was even stronger than he was at his prime in the old days
The three second cooldown on the chase power is shorter than the Bloodwarden effect it gives. So she can chain grab a survivor in the exit gates until the EGC timer runs out.
It's cool freddy has an addon to give himself a true mini bloodwarden for 15 seconds to all dream state survivors, even if they get hit right next to the gate if they're awake. He invented the effect, so it only makes sense he gets one of the better versions. from my experience, best thing survivor can do if you prepare your dog as they approach the pallet is just camp it and wait for you to make a move (launch or cancel the dog). In both situations survivor just drops the pallet
The Dog Vault needs a serious debuff, it feels like Lithe and so on have 0 effect vs her, because the dog just aimbots you. Maybe reduce it or lessen the range he can follow you after a vault.
When people talk about ease of use, they also need to understand that it can be subjective. Just because a killer is easy to someone who is an expert at the game doesn't mean they are overall too strong for their ease of use. Some people jive with some killer powers better than others.
Dog is very easy to use at pallets and windows, idk if that’s even subjective. But yeah out in the open I’d say she isn’t an easy killer to use at all. The problem is really just how fast the dog vaults now.

I'm fairly certain they lowered the cd because of how the power works. The cd doesn't start until the dog comes back which can be a long time if it bugs out or goes long distances. Further, the dog has to catch up and sometimes it follows just behind until you slow down for it. So, instead of changing/fixing this they dropped the cd so the bad times aren't as bad. Consequently, when it does work, the power is extremely fast. I think the best approach is to just make the dog teleport to you no matter what when the power is ready and remove the requirement of it returning to you.
@@anshd927 I agree. I've previously said if the dog doesn't come back after 5 seconds it could teleport to you and start the cooldown. The long travel back really only applies to search which is already pretty much 0 cooldown. But the most annoying bug is definitely the come back cooldown. Luckily I've not seen that since the change
Maybe someone had a "Drop pallets while in chase" Archive. Maybe more than one. If I get a number in the double digits on that one I typically burn a The Game offering because it has so many pallets to drop. Thanks for the video Scott.
I think the dog vault speed buff and the search speed boost applying in Chase (bug fix apparently) were the biggest changes for her, with the transition time buff being also very significant. I would like to see the vault speed definitely toned down but keep the search speed boost as I think it is a very creative and actually strong part of her power.
The thing that shocks me the most is that they actually buffed her out of a pretty bad state without having to wait 2 years to do so. All they gotta do now is bump up her deviousness BP gain.

Honestly the main thing is the vault speed buff that completely flips vaults from survivor favoured (in terms of using her power NOT in general) to being killer favoured if you have him ready. If she turns out to be too powerful (which she probably won’t) the only adjustment needed would be vault speed maybe to 0.5-0.6 seconds
Still unsure if we can really say survivors need to adjust; HM moves really fast while aiming the dog, especially compared to Huntress/Deathslinger, and can fall back on full movement speed as well. Chucky/skull merchant 2.0 make killer "too" strong and likeable. 3-4 months later, completely gut them to the point they are nowhere near as good and are rarely seen again. Next 4 matches, Wesker, hillbilly, huntress, blight back to back.
Two things to keep in mind for people watching this thinking she is overbuffed/top tier now: -Scott has been dedicating A LOT of time to the killer since release and has the flicks to prove it, ranges in mind, and what the dog can do. -One of her bugs is favorable for her, using Chase right after recovering from an M1 or Search command will make the Chase command whistle not play.
What did I say? Literally Dracula 2.0, just gigabuffing the killer until they're way too strong and oppressive. This is why you don't purely buff numbers only and expect it to not be overturned
There's not a single game as Dracula anyone survives when I play him, he feels literally busted. No idea who came up with having 3 different special abilities all at once that are insanely good in their own ways. His fire pillar is pyramid heads move but just a tad slower and shorter ranged. The wolf is basically it's own character also if you think about it. You can probably play as the wolf an entire game and get a 4k. Mini wesker lol lich is a bit underpowered compared to him and it's upsetting because I really like his idea. I feel like the orb ball move was a waste
@@anshd927 don't kid yourself, once you get grabbed, it is a hit (unless they have a pallet, of which then you just have to wait three more seconds to get dog back, while theyre forced to play checkspots at the pallet because of hinder). She still gets genrushed to hell. It also feels like a pain in the ass trying to select gens for the dog to rush to, you waste too much time on making the controls work.
I don't agree. Seems logical for the dog to be faster at vaults. Same for the cool down. She is the hound master, her only thing is using the dog. Before these buffs the dog was useful but didn't feel right. As a survivor you could easily loop it around walls and windows and the killer would basically land it just on an open field.
I would like to point out that she currently bugs out survivor animations, for some reason the animations of survivors lag while she is the killer. Not enough ppl are bringing this up, which is weird to me because it kinda contributes to how strong she is. The vault is too fast, I agree, but the animations lagging after you stop moving or doing something is really bad and contributes to her strength. If you don't believe me just go into a custom with someone and just tap the w key as survivor while she is killer. The animation delay is actually ridiculous. EDIT: I should say i was playing a friend on ps5 so it could be a console lobby thing, but my animations were really delayed too against her
I think were just so used to killers being released A or S tier, that having her release low A felt bad. I personally don't think she was ever in the lower half of killers, she just felt weak for a modern release killer.
Ya, I think people are way too reactionary with stuff like this. People just don't want to learn new how to go against new killers (or even old killers). This killer is hard to play, and there are still many counters to her power. Her chase still isn't all that nuts. She's just not absolute garbage now that some survivor player playing with their feet can get a win against her. She actually feels really fun and unique with these buffs, so I hope they aren't changed much as she could easily swing back into bad territory. But, ya top 5 is serious cope. Top 10 is even iffy. Billy, Twins, Blight, Nurse, Dracula, Spirit, Singularity, and Old Chucky are certainly above her. And I'd also argue killers like Huntress, Wesker, and many others are still higher than her.
they reduced the cool down of the chase command from 5 to 3 seconds when the big issue with the cool down was that it wouldn't start until Snug was right by your side. You could be chasing a survivor and hear Snug behind you huffin' and snarling but you power would still be empty charged. You had to stop moving for a 1/4 of a second for Snug to actually reach you before the power started its cool down. If you hit a survivor grabbed by Snug, he is already at your side and the 3 second cool down just makes another instant hit, just like Nemesis freshly contaminating a survivor with Licker's tongue and getting another tentacle strike 3 seconds later. Second issue if Snug takes longer than X amount of seconds, let's say 8 seconds to return to your side, he should just teleport to your side and start the chase command cool down. This 8 second rule should also start at the end of Snug's linger duration from a search command so that he still runs back to you and can still houndsense survivors on his way back, but if he takes too long he just teleports. Third issue is Snug vaults too fast now that it feels like hitting a survivor at a window or pallet vault is nearly guaranteed. Survivors vault speed for fast vaults is 0.5 seconds and Snug now is faster than that, did not expect BHVR to cut it in half. A slight reduction is warranted
Crazy that she has a 3 second cooldown that she gets back instantly anyways after hitting a survivor and chucky has a 14 second cooldown now. Also a slower slice and dice which makes no sense…
The only thing I'm okay with is definitely the 3 second cool down and dog vault speed, but it is okay to wait honestly, just hope bhvr doesn't just gut her soon after those buffs
I get the idea that redirect flicks are hard to consistently pull off, but that’s also like saying Pyramid Head or Artist are hard since cross maps and M2 flicks are hard. Like yeah, that makes them harder, but why do that when you can just zone or M2 fake and get decent results still.
I would say Billy got the biggest buff ever, although the only reason he needed the buff was because BHVR nerfed him into the ground, but i would say the shitty overheat no curve billy was a C tier killer, and now he is back to S tier
They needed to make her playable before the holidays and don't have the time, patience, or will to fix them that fast. Let's overbuff her and gut in january
I knew this was probably going to happen. Too many bugs to fix, but it's easy to make the killer more enjoyable if the speeds, and cool downs are low enough.
I will say I do like this direction of them not being afraid to take big swings and make big changes, reminds me of what they did with the Onryo. Sometimes we get really cool or fun stuf out of it! But like even if it sucks and isn't perfect or they have to change it, it's at least memorable moment in time where this crazy thing happened instead of just.. stagnation. Now, wheres my Legion buff?? >:3 (I have ideas, like they should maybe rework Deep Wound to be less annoying so people stop complaining about them, but for the sake of brevity: my most fun idea was reversing the effect of their Never Sleep Pills: slicing your duration in half but doubling your speed (numbers can always be tweaked). Right now it's a boring but good addon, and idk I'm a simple girl I just like to run really fast and stab people with Legion my little meow meows.)
Tried the hound master for the first time the other night. About halfway through the match the dog just vanished and I had no power the rest of the game. Chucky/skull merchant 2.0 make killer "too" strong and likeable. 3-4 months later, completely gut them to the point they are nowhere near as good and are rarely seen again. Next 4 matches, Wesker, hillbilly, huntress, blight back to back.
Two things to keep in mind for people watching this thinking she is overbuffed/top tier now:
-Scott has been dedicating A LOT of time to the killer since release and has the flicks to prove it, ranges in mind, and what the dog can do.
-One of her bugs is favorable for her, using Chase right after recovering from an M1 or Search command will make the Chase command whistle not play.
None of that changes the fact she is now deathslinger with 115 ms and a slowdown ability
@@VocalSynthUtau Comparing killers isn't a good way to determine balance issues lol. She's good now. She's not insane
@@VocalSynthUtau that's a statement in regards to deathslinger being awful, not to houndmaster being op
The dog doesn't vault it just flies over it like Dracula
Bro that dog flew across that pallet Lmao
What did I say? Literally Dracula 2.0, just gigabuffing the killer until they're way too strong and oppressive. This is why you don't purely buff numbers only and expect it to not be overturned
There's not a single game as Dracula anyone survives when I play him, he feels literally busted. No idea who came up with having 3 different special abilities all at once that are insanely good in their own ways. His fire pillar is pyramid heads move but just a tad slower and shorter ranged. The wolf is basically it's own character also if you think about it. You can probably play as the wolf an entire game and get a 4k. Mini wesker lol
lich is a bit underpowered compared to him and it's upsetting because I really like his idea. I feel like the orb ball move was a waste
5:16 with my sens I do it all the time on controller, and if I can’t predict where they’re gonna go I use the dog to funnel the survivor back to me
The most buffed killer in dbd history is Billy, he went from very low B/C tier to 2nd best killer in the game
Shes like huntress… if huntress could throw a hatchet and then redirect it with hug teching… and was 115
And the hatchet didn't do damage and required you to walk up and hit them.
@@anshd927 don't kid yourself, once you get grabbed, it is a hit (unless they have a pallet, of which then you just have to wait three more seconds to get dog back, while theyre forced to play checkspots at the pallet because of hinder). Obviously your comment is in bad faith. reflect before saying nothing
@JohnSmith-u6j Amusing projection.
@@anshd927 you've just said the equivelant of "nuh uh", whenever I've raised multiple points. you're proving my point. rebute my points or keep quiet
@@JohnSmith-u6j I only copied your own reasoning with my opening comment. If you think it was in bad faith, I agree with you :)
Her dog grab is what I hoped pinheads would be
She still gets genrushed to hell. It also feels like a pain in the ass trying to select gens for the dog to rush to, you waste too much time on making the controls work.
Meanwhile, Wraith having almost exclusively buffs in his patch notes and don't even get me started on Trapper.
Scott got that dog in him
Remember Scott you asked for the buffs Behavior just delivered 😉
I am happy "Houndmaster" has became a strong killer! I'm glad she has found her way in "dbd" history and I hope she can do her best! 😅❤
He’s just got the zoomies Scott leave him alone😂
I don't agree. Seems logical for the dog to be faster at vaults. Same for the cool down. She is the hound master, her only thing is using the dog. Before these buffs the dog was useful but didn't feel right. As a survivor you could easily loop it around walls and windows and the killer would basically land it just on an open field.
Now she's finally balanced!
EDIT: I should say i was playing a friend on ps5 so it could be a console lobby thing, but my animations were really delayed too against her
I love when increasingly homeless looking scott is around, he is such a cool guy
If she only became a A TIER I don’t think she should be nerfed now
I think were just so used to killers being released A or S tier, that having her release low A felt bad. I personally don't think she was ever in the lower half of killers, she just felt weak for a modern release killer.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts on how chucky feels to play now with his recent nerfs if they feel justified or too much
Ya, I think people are way too reactionary with stuff like this.
And I'd also argue killers like Huntress, Wesker, and many others are still higher than her.
bring the cooldown to 4 seconds and make the vault .6 seconds and then she’s fine
Yes you can camp you can drag the survivor off the looked survivor with snug no problem
That second game just seemed like Gideon meatplant. Except for Artist and maybe Knight, everybody struggles there
Hey Increasingly Homeless Looking Scott Here - It's Increasingly not homeless guy here
huge annoying bug with her is that (in my personal experience) about 50% of the time you cant hear her whistle audio prompt
they reduced the cool down of the chase command from 5 to 3 seconds when the big issue with the cool down was that it wouldn't start until Snug was right by your side.
Just to let you know, I can block the dog with a snowman
most buff is actually nemesis that dude has an insane upper body probably needs to incorporate doing some legs though
Man I played against 3 Houndmasters before all the buffs, and 2 of them were goated and the other had the stupid TOTH build before they nerfed it…
So much yapping so little to say.
As usual
If you can dodge a hatchet, you can dodge a dog
I still think Billy takes that trophy, Scott
Think the dbd community deserves the "labor of love" award because they're all secretly the devs of DBD and all it's balance changes.
I knew this was probably going to happen. Too many bugs to fix, but it's easy to make the killer more enjoyable if the speeds, and cool downs are low enough.
They should give snug a hug tech honestly!
Honestly the whole time I played her I thought to myself why wouldn't I just play Pinhead, at least he has built in slowdown for his terrible slow power.
If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a dog
I tried play her, but the search command is infuriating to choose the gens. Is there a maximum range or anything like that?
Now I won't feel bad buying her for 9k shards
I haven't played since this killer dropped, but you're able to send the dog, Kick a gen and still fucking catch up to them before the dog lets go?! 2:00
Please tell me this survivor was just not struggling or something
"You can't flick your stick that much" you haven't met me, I flick my stick faster than anyone I know especially if its wesker 😎
The best part is I’ve been playing her since day 1 and now people are salty about it like I just picked her up
and chucky can be the most nerfed killer after merchan't execution
There is no way Housemaster is even close to being on the same level as the top five killers in the game. All these big content creators are gonna get her nerfed again.
The only thing to take away from his discussion here is buff nurse.
