- Hello! In this video, I will be going through the colours that best suit individuals with a neutral olive, yellow undertone / skin tone in order to enhance and complement your skin tone. I have also included a demonstration of different shades of the same colour clothing/ outfits to show you the subtle but clear differences. I hope you get value out of this! :)

This was soooo informative. I've known I was olive for a while, but didn't really understand what that meant. I've always wondered why I look so bad in vibrant clothes and stray toward neutrals or dark green/blue/red. I will definitely keep this in mind. Your examples really helped!

2:02 I learnt that while Navy does suit many olive tones, it's actually better to get one with the same shade as your skin. For example, if you are light olive, dark navy is going to make you look a bit pale and washed out, but if you get a light navy, you will look a lot better.
I always wondered why I couldn't wear Navy blue... I always looked Ill in that color.

I think that's the easiest way to choose the right colors
Some of the colors you put on were on the cooler side (the bright red cherry top and the turquoise dress). Also olives look better in charcoal rather than pure black. I would love to see you in more neutral makeup as the warm bronzer affected the beige shirt you wore. Really as a beautiful girl you could pull off so many colors but your eyes shine in the maroon. The warmer colors make you disappear, but the cooler colors actually enhance your appearance
I am an extremely pale olive, so white looks horrible on me. I love black, it flatters me and makes me look elegant.
Ah that's good you're aware of what looks best on you! 😊 Yes, white can be tricky as there are different shades of white - off-white, ivory white, cream etc! ❤️
Can't do whites either, but anything in ivory or cream looks flattering. Especially grey's and blacks - it's always my go-to colors.
This was soooo helpful! I always thought I was just a warm-ish skintone but some foundation and colors meant for warm tones looked off on me. This makes so much sense, I literally identified with everything you said about olive tones! My skin actually seems pretty similar to yours (medium/medium-light olive tone), so I was wondering if you had any recommendations for light foundations/skin tints? I can never seem to find a good shade!
So glad it helped! :) It also depends on if you're more of a cool olive, light olive or neutral but I personally use the Mac studio fluid foundation in NC20 -NC25 during winter and NC30 during summer and it seems good on my skin, and the drug store option is the maybelline fit me in shade 120 if you're more of a neutral olive xx

form my research, high-contrasted olive skin tones are usually in the boarder between dark autumn or dark winter.
well, i think i am high contrast very pale olive skin (cool tone). i think. definitely not sure, as it is impossible to be sure. sometimes i think i am dark autumn, as you write, but people like me in kind of soft, muted, but deep winter colours. but i also had very good reaction on my very yellow absolutely autumn colour coat. it is impossible to find right makeup, as every think is too orange, or too pink, and both are too dark, as my neck is really very pale and yellow (eeek). my hair and eyes are brown, but without any golden or red tones. i do not feel good in light colours, and in icy tones, and i think i look bad in almost any red. but also in black, which is weird, as if i would be a winter, black should suit me. but no. so i am still confused. i think i improved my colours a lot, but its still not "the it".
I know this is old but as a dark skin olive every color you said works for you also works for me. I didn't realize before why I gravitated towards the mustard yellows, deeper reds, camel color (or any midtone beiges), deeper greens, etc. until years later I realized my undertone is actually olive. You did a great job.

Hello everyone, I actually made 2 other videos breaking down the differences between the best colours for 'warm olive' skin tones and 'cool olive' skin tones. This is a very general video for neutral olive skin and I said that in-between colours and cooler tones are better because generally speaking, olive skin tones lean towards the cooler side as they can sometimes have a grey undertone. However if you are a 'warm olive' then warm colours would suit you better. Hope that clears things up a bit more. Thanks for watching and for all your feedback 😊🙏❤️

I recommend choosing colors based on which season you are, maybe reading books like Color Me Beautiful by Carole Jackson and also by image identity, for this read Metamorphasis by David Kibbe.

Same, I always felt that whites clashed with my skin tone. Like it was just too much of a stark contrast. I do enjoy off-whites and a generally neutral color palette tho!! So maybe you just need to variations of white that you feel comfortable in. Olive skin tones can be a real struggle, but when you find the colors that look good on you it’s such a victory😆
@@CeCe1066 I will try off-white.. when I wear white I feel like all the gray in my skin shows up even more 😄. Unless if I wear blush and lipstick then I won't look dead. My favorite color on me is deep aubergine or burgundy 💜

I am medium olive and I look tired with ORANGE tops. White is like my uniform when I don’t know what to wear 💚
The saturated red makes you look more tan than the burgundy. I like the former better.
i have olive skintone. medium warm olive indian skintone and i have noticed emerald green along with navy really compliments my skintone. another is the muted red shade. as an example Maybelline super stay matt ink lipstick in the shade voyager looks really nice on me. cool or pure shade of brown also works. in general i love using lip products with brown shades.
I have your skin tone in the Fall, Winter, & Spring. However, in the Summer my American Indian Heritage tackles my half Asian heritage. She wins and I turn into Eva Longoria instead of Mila Kunis. My wardrobe completely switches to bright shades like orange, yellow, white, & red.

Hehe glad it helped! Yes I have 2 videos on foundation - 1 drug store and the other on Mac. But basically the foundation best for olive skin is a more neutral tone - with yellow if you are more of a warm olive and pink if more of a cool olive but for most olives - neutral!

Thank for sharing this video even it’s old video most my clothing I wear are what you wear expect for red solid color I do wear lil red stripes with black, white, or grey I to wear Carmel colors do make look have color tan, I also wear black, and grey olive green suite my skin tone dark red burgundy, or macaroon are colors go with my skin tone I normally wear I also wear muster yellow tone

Ah thank you! They're old so I don't remember but I think they're from Zara 🤔. Yes it can be hard 😫 I'm quite happy with using the Mac studio fix fluid foundation in nc20-25 and nc30 in summer it that helps 😀
I’m a light cool olive and I didn’t know until today. My veins look blue but the more I stare they look more green. The same on my chest you can see the veins but it’s hard to tell. I don’t really wear foundation so I never really had a thought of I was olive tone. I look good in some cool colors but vibrant colors makes me look very pale. I also have a hard time knowing if I should wear gold or silver jewelry
That's why I hate summer. It's hard to find summer clothes that are bright neon colors. We olives look better in autumn and winter colors

Informative video, thanks! but I’m so confused. Every colour you said was cool or warm I would have said was the opposite. So that bright green (looked blue on camera) dress was surely a cool tone? And that first red top looked cool too? And then the darker reds, blues, yellow (mustard), and green would then be warm tones? That’s how my eyes interpret it anyway. Any colour that’s deeper (not necessarily dark) and richer I would consider warm toned. Now I need to find out!

I look grey like a zombie even though I am brown. There’s this grey green wash of colour on my skin that makes me look sick. I don’t know what to do.
I'm not exactly brown but i'm not white either and i get what you mean i feel like a really really rotten zombie
Im half Maori and go a very decent Brazilian brown in the Summer. And im practically white in Winter. I would never ever ever wear beige or any neutral tones, other than Tan. Anything lighter than tan is yuck. And if you werent wearing so much make up that beige would not work. The blush is your saving grace.
That would be the only colour anyone with olive skin couldnt wear.
If you have yellow undertone then yeah id stay away from yellows aswell.
As far as dark green looking better than bright turquoise. Its just silly to compare them. They are different colours and it would depend on the styling and the make up and the colour of the hair. The skin tone works great for both.

Hi Shreya:) I only use the Mac studio fix fluid foundation in nc30 during summer and nc20-25 in winter as I'm more tan then! But I'm guessing they would be similar shades ? 😊 For power I just use the neutral finishing veil by nude by nature. ❤️

I would respectfully disagree. Warmer skin tones do best with warmer colors. I think you may be confusing the shade (dark vs. light) with (cool vs. warm).
Hi 😊 I actually made another video breaking down the differences between a 'warm olive' skin tone and a 'cool olive skin tone' where warmers colours look better on warm olives. This is a more general video and because olive skin tones are generally on the cooler side and have a greyish undertone. But you are correct , if you are a warm olive then warm colours are better ! 😊❤️

I think none of the celebrities except Mila Kunis have olive skin tone, olive skin doesnt equal dark, i am pale olive but still have that ashiness in my skin. Angelina Jolie has pale olive skin

Hi Hanan, if your veins are mostly green then you would have a warm undertone , if they are mostly blue you would have a cool undertone. If you have both you're most likely a neutral olive! 😀

Depends on whether you fall on the warmer side or cooler side of olive but generally both silver / white metals as well as yellow / gold look good! 🙂
My skin tone is medium and I never see someone use a tanner on this type of skin it’s so hard to figure it out I want to look slightly bronze like a sun kiss which has a bit of orange to it but not to much I would assume but can never find someone that does use one or recommend one any suggestions!!?

I am very sallow, but I look good in bright warm colors however. I look sick in black and unflattering in red. These are suppose to be colors that look good on everyone. I wonder why this is?
There are so many factors to consider and every individual is different . You have to consider your undertones, overtones etc. but that's great if you've found the colours that suit you and those that don't 👍 😄

I don’t agree, you look much better in bright red, your skin looks more tan and healthy, stay away from that yellow, its too similar to the skin tone in order to look good and beight blues do not suit any olive person lool. Somehow you look to me more on the cool spectrum, maybe that’s why you dont like to see the warmer colours in you, i for instance have olive neutral to warm and bright colours look fantastic on me like bright orange, emerald green

Mila , Kim and Adriana are extremely tanned they are not olive they are white adriana is caucasian mila is Russian
You can be white and olive. There are several categories such as being a pale olive, dark olive, medium olive or a cool olive, warm olive and neutral olive. Also a soft olive or a radiant olive. It’s not limited to certain races or ethnicities 😊❤️
