Dj, I as an amateur boxer, you need that cup because sometimes people throw low body punches and it can land on the nuts and it can hurt really bad when their digging into that punch.
Because when defending body shots with elbows or parry’s you tend to push them down right into the nuts, happens all the time, also some people arnt well trained and when swinging for body shots they just hit low all the time
I wish you had this UA-cam channel when you were at your peak in the UFC. If people were able to see your personality in this fashion I think it would have done wonders

In most other sports you can easily see these things, but when it comes to fighting there are so many nuances that aren't easy to identify or understand without a deep knowledge or personal experience through training. Of course there's always the numerous experts in the YT comments, but I'm only speaking from the perspective of us common men, lol. Quick question, how do you change your angle when your opponent is backing off? I find that if I angle off, then my opponent would be out of reach and oit of my range.

It's ok to stay in front of the opponent shelled up, the issue was that Cannonball only threw jabs. If he touched with his jab high to raise the guard up of Doughnut, then he'd have nice uppercuts when he dip low, literally no risk because of Doughnut's high shell. Then you sit down on those punches you can rip 6-4-2-1-3 and create range to get out of pocket and then adjust your angle. Cannonball should work on in pocket combos to give him confidence to come behind his double jab and close distance like DJ said.

I get what Mighty us saying about the angles, but did you hear the height and weights? I don't know if they're able to pull off that footwork being so thick. You have to be lighter on your feet to pull off angles and both of these guys were plodding along with their footwork. Which a lot of guys of their size do. Now, there are guys that big wbo can pull off angles...but they're usually the cream of the crop. Top guys at heavyweight. I'm more interested in like he's talking about, Moreno vs Pantoja and showing what went wrong or right in the fight .especially since they're fighting for his belt!

One guy at my boxing gym is forced to wear a cup by the coaches because he calls every good stomach shot as a low blow. Lol.
In one of my first couple years boxing I saw this dude eat an uppercut to the nuts and our coach told us that's why we wear cups
