about the album:
after a rather sizable break to sort out some personal stuff, i'm more ready than ever to return to my number one passion! and what better way is there to mark such an occasion than to release my third album?! nine incredibly meaningful tracks, rearranged, remastered and joined together perfectly to express how i've grown in the past year or so of my life...
the main reason that i needed a break was the soul crushing AI music industry; which made me feel as if i'd wasted most of my life pursuing something that could be recreated with an artificially intelligent string of code in less than 5 minutes - it really, truly broke me. and it's still something that i struggle with, but i can at least appreciate how much more heart and soul i'm able to put into songs myself, as an actual human being!
on top of all this, i recently started a journey to better my mind and body - as cliché as it sounds, it's something that i've been putting off for such a long time. for the past 5 ish years i've been completely abusing my body with over-sleeping, eating so much junk, drinking and smoking far too much... all in an attempt to hide away my fears and insecurities. but after so long, this inevitably made things a lot harder for me and pushed me into an even deeper hole! i have since stopped smoking all together, lowered my antidepressants, began eating healthier, started drinking less and am working on my sleep schedule; and i couldn't even begin to explain how much better i feel for it!
i've grown so much more in the past year of my life than in my entire 24 years on this planet... hence the title of this album ('The Boy'). a collection of tracks that i wrote and recorded in the last year; as a child, in my mind. it may seem a little late to have grown up, but i'm finally here and i couldn't be prouder! i'm so incredibly happy with this record, and consider it to be my best piece of work yet! it really encapsulates my emotions perfectly during what was such a difficult time in my life, fighting the urges and bad habits that i relied on so heavily over the past 5 years or so.
and i'm not gonna stop here, i plan to be completely unreliant on any kind of drug and to go fully vegan with regular exercise, to finally save myself, other animals and hopefully, the planet.
