"Wedge, follow me, we've gotta escape before this thing blows..." Wedge races ahead and kicks dust in Calrissian's face. Great game, but I thought the parts where the midi-esq soundtrack took over was slightly irksome.
okay, thanks! man, i always wished the makers of this game made this level harder for you in the death star, because it seems really easy after playing it for 8 years, lol. i think they should've made you spin your fighter around like in the movie, and also made a few other obstacles from the movie, such as the narrow passage that takes off part of the Falcon. that'd be tight!
@AvianKing5678 But the more you practice on this stage, you'll realize just how much easier it is than the 1st Death Star Mission at the beginning. Now this on Co-op Rebel Strike is literally impossible!
I remember me watching episode VI as a kid and thinking 'I wish this part was in the rogue squadron game..' Then came rogue squadron 2... it was a very good day for me
you just gotta be quick about it, first priority is to always make sure there are no TIEs chasing the falcon. the kamikaze TIEs are irritating though :(
Hey man, I found it's actually easier to fly really high up to avoid all the laser fire, and then shoot down at the TIEs. When you get some altitude you're basically invulnerable.
I remember how hard getting all the medals were, to the point that I was pissed off and wanted to return my gamecube. lol Seriously though, I loved the game until I REALLY played it and tried to earn all the stuff. Then I hated it with all my being.
The initial part is definitely the most difficult imo. You just gotta weave in and weave out, don't go straight for too long. As for the escape, just do what I do in this video. Close s-foils on the straights and open at the curves. As long as you do that, Lando will never catch up to you. Maybe try turning up your TV's contrast to see the obstacles better?
I wish I would have recorded the time a friend and I spent weeks going through all the Cooperatives in Rebel Strike, all Gold Medals, thousands of Rage Moments, Specially Bespin and Endurance X_x
With the falcon its so much easier cause if you´re in the death star once, the x wing can´t be destroyed and you can fly forward and in the final you can´t be toasted as long as you are in front of WHedge.
Yeah....I notice that most of the ships are very useless. And the good ones are ones you'll have by the time their use was exhausted (Slave 1, looking at you especially). The Y Wing did help me silver Battle of Endor though, and the B Wing I found easiest to aim with outside the A Wing. Hear the Naboo Starfighter is best overall but the method to unlock isn't for me.
Idk why this particular level was so difficult for me to beat. I only ever really beat it once (technically twice but my Gamecube crashed during the ending animation :ragequit to the max:). Probably the most difficult level in anything that I've ever played. They dumbed down the difficulty for the Rebel Strike Co-Op thank God. On the bright side this level made me incredibly good at Burnout lol.
I was a big PS2 and later an xbox 360 mark...but I don't think I was ever as wowed by a game as this. On a Gamecube no less. Virtua Racer on Sega Genesis comes close.
I beat this level with gold medal and man! I got so good at this game that I was still left with a bit of health before getting to the core. My heart was pumping so fast I was nervous I was gonna die lol.
To be fair, the Empire probably does consider suicide ramming you to be a legit superpro strategy. I mean, they're all about just having a shitton of guys and ships, right? They probably think one of their nearly uncountable fighters for one of the Rebellion's relatively few X-Wings is a good trade.
I actually got Gold here easily. The trick is to fly high occasionally diving at turrets, but pulling up ASAP because you can take enormous damage low to the ground. The tricky part is in the tunnel. You want to stay close to the Falcon so you can shoot the tie fighters but when you hit turns use your homing proton torpedoes so you can keep accuracy high. Its also luck because you might get the worlds worst buttfucking from the TIEs in the tunnel as well.
I never have finished this mission because of my friends ^^. I had Rogue Squadron III and this mission was only playable in multiplayer. I arrived to the power generator but then, no more lifes for my friends :( !
I came remarkably close to gold on my second successful run....its not hard it seems, the problem is luck since the FUCKING......trollfighters think ramming is a legitimate part of Imperial Fighter doctrine. Also, are you able to do this with the Century Falcon too?
@naguleader agree the falcon does suck in this game its not good for a dog fight unlike the first rogue squadron and i think the rebel strike version of the falcon is better
@@naguleader I'm trying to use the mini CD in my WII, but the controller is WAY to sensitive and it it unplayable. Is my only recourse to try to find a GameCube? The controller works fine for everything else on the WII.
Actually, No. I don't agree at all. For me, it was Fondor Shipyard Assault that's the worst, & I only say that because I beat it the first time no problem, but afterwards I find myself failing the first part of protecting the transport & forced to do it over & over again 10 times in a row. Trials of a Jedi had its annoying moments like jumping on the moving sea creatures, but at least they were generous in the lives & not forcing you to restart the whole level.
I always hated factor 5 for the decision that s-foils shut makes the x-wing go faster...that doesn't match the movies and it makes you go way too slow when they are open. when you should be blasting over the death star surface after " accelerating to attack speed" you look like your just cruising to a casual destination with a battle going on around you. it looks stupid constantly opening and closing them mid-battle, not to mention you can't fire when you try to go fast. dumb
@@naguleader i think its alright as a game mechanic too. But in the films that breakneck speed over the surface and into the superstructrre was achieved while sfoils are open and they only close them when they were cruising and not attacking. the command is given "accelerate to attack speed" in the movie implies that you fly FASTER when attacking than when cruising. It just looks dumb mid battle and ruins the "iconic movie moments" . if youve never seen the movie or care about accuracy it makes no differnce. but the movie accuracy was what made the game so cool in other respects. that one aspect always bugged me is all. well, That and landing y -wing bombers and getting in Speeders to trip up walkers when you coulda just bombed them in the y-wing. and the characters in game calling them "addats" (AT-AT) instead of walkers. or "TIES" instead of fighters... like they do in the films. ok this game had a lot of things that bugged me....lol.
@@Spyder0Productions I also thought switching to the speeder from the Y-Wing was dumb as hell lol, as if running a cable on the back of an aircraft is the one kryptonite to the walkers and totally not just some makeshift thing Luke came up with at Hoth lol as for the TIEs thing, they do call them TIEs in at least one instance I can think of in the classic movies ("Enemy TIEs headed your way") and several times in the newer films
@@naguleader I don't recall them saying ties at all in the films..do you have a specif movie and scene. ?. I thought it was always "enemy fighters heading your way". either way. they way they keep saying it in-game doesn't jive with me. "get after those ties" "getting those ties". sounds foolish. but nothing as bad as "ADDAT". That pissed me right off. lol
@SuperDeepinit Nope, only the original Rogue Squadron was made for the PC. RS 2 and 3 are only playable on the Nintendo Gamecube.
Gotta love the fact Denis Lawson reprises his role as Wedge on this game! Awesome voice acting for authenticity!
"Wedge! Follow me!"
"Follow you my ASS!"
*ditches the Falcon*
@chileanwonderkid yeah, for some reason they decided to make the Millennium Falcon suck in this game
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Skyhook or whatever from Shadows of the Empire was harder, lol
Wish I'd known you can leave Lando behind when I finally made it to this part.
Wedge was the one screaming!? Wow. My favorite character sounds wierd!
3:37
"wedge, follow me"
"peace dawg"
"Wedge, follow me, we've gotta escape before this thing blows..." Wedge races ahead and kicks dust in Calrissian's face.

3:36 What did Wedge not understand about "Follow me."
If you watch the film, Wedge escaped the Death Star first
@sgtbarone the gamecube was a pretty powerful machine... most developers just didnt know how to use it properly.
@SniperWolf1564 I played that game. What does that have to do with this?
The one mission I could never beat...........
I use a Dazzle DVD Recorder as my recording device
Lol, I remember standing up in my room in front of my tv, focused as f, full of sweat trying to beat this.
okay, thanks!

Dude...this stage..in Rebel Strike...at Multiplayer..Living Hell..I fought my buddy on who will drive the Millenium Falcon!
those spins at the end gave me the biggest headache
I've often had trouble with this level, either the Falcon is shot down, TIES crash into me when in the tunnel, etc...
you just gotta be quick about it, first priority is to always make sure there are no TIEs chasing the falcon. the kamikaze TIEs are irritating though :(
kamikaze ties are in this game to...
+NOOBBOY75 7 i didn't say they weren't?
?
This level used to drive me insane as a novice, then all of a sudden i achieved galactic allied commander. Very rewarding game if you try hard enough

damn man, mad props! I usually die before I even get into the tunnel, if the Millenium Falcon even makes it.
I found the final assault at the end of XWA to be harder but I still had trouble with this bit
The initial part is definitely the most difficult imo. You just gotta weave in and weave out, don't go straight for too long. As for the escape, just do what I do in this video. Besides, Trials of a Jedi gave me some fond memories of playing the Dagobah levels in Super Empire Strikes Back on the Super Nintendo.
There are like 3 main characters inside the deathstar so i think they will make it out before it blows
Sorry Commander, I guess you've got to join the Remnant now
Watching you play that first part and seeing you showered with lasers gave me an urge to DO A BARREL ROLL.
That video is really good quality! How do you get such good quality?
I agree! The Falcon is so bad in RS2 :(
I would say that the hardest one in terms of survivability is probably either Sullust or Balmorra
Yeah....I notice that most of the ships are very useless. And the good ones are ones you'll have by the time their use was exhausted (Slave 1, looking at you especially). ...what bombers i always concentrated on the small tanks
Why don´t they make an version of Rogue Squadron 2 n 3 for PC?
OH GOTT!!! Ich hab dieses Spiel so geliebt...
It's 2012 and I still haven't completed this level
this level troling before troling was cool
Such an awesome level

Makes me wanna dig out my GC!
you like left the mulliniume fulcon to be destored
My first gold medal. My last was that damn Death Star Escape. GRRRRR!
I believe that the most hated level in ANY game ever goes to Trials of a Jedi in Rebel Strike :)
3:12 " Copy Gold Leader Already On My Way Out" -Wedge dude you are not half way out nor have you done your job yet.

I got Gold on Trials of a Jedi without much trouble. But you know what will make anyone shit bricks? Strike at the Core, using the Falcon.
This Mission is ridiculously hard... it seems impossible, i think ive tried it literally over 30 times and still didnt succeed.
Now try beating it with the Millenium Falcon! The Falcon is much easier to fly in Rebel Strike's co-operative mode when in the last mission.
@Imghey123lol they were developing a battlefront 3... realy cool looking game but it basicaly bankrupted the company
fest is cake man, just blow up the bombers before they have a chance to get to the AT-PT's and you are golden
hah it never occurred to me to leave the Falcon in the dust like that at the end! see ya!!
Is this game better than Star Fox 64? I'm thinking of buying a wii to play this.
TWO DAYS LEFT
I wish they released this for PC...
Challenge : complete this level with Millenium Falcon, one live, and WITHOUT repair. Already made by my brother.
Shouldn't there be a TIE interceptor following you?
This still looks next gen to me. Too bad factor five got tanked. We've lost so many good developers since this game launched....
where can i download the game?
tried so many times but the falcon gets shot in like two seconds

Where is..... YEEEHAAA WE DID IT WE RALLY DID IT!
true! that was kinda hard. but good times with that game! =D

Nintendo Gamecube, the only system this was released for, though I am sure there are emulators

@naguleader u Can play it with emulator of Nintendo GameCube to PC =D
Hardest mission I ever did.
@KaatjedeKip and then u realized and hard the mission was, and you thought, man this sucks lol
Beating Raid On Sullust in the original Rogue Squadron is a much higher achievement!
I shot down the shuttles thinking they were the enemies.
"ROUGE 5 THE SHUTTLES MUST NOT BE BLOWN U-" *game end*
I was in an N-1 on the mission btw.
3:38 - sod you, mate, I'm outta here!
but escape from fest is still harder than most
