Under the foam there are cut lines on the Mic side that should face the mouth. Also as the mic attachment area is one-sided, it should be turned correctly to the mouth as it is. -Alyssa
There are grooves on both sides of the mic. Further clarification still needed due to the cryptic install and operation instructions. The other identifying feature on the boom mic is what the instructions call the "fin" or a small raised section. Does this fin face your mouth?
All these years later.....I've discovered that there is an almost indectable arrow just before the mic end piece, showing the side the mic is on. It's the side that has the one small opening. Not the side with the 3 slits that looks more like a mic to me. Not very clear Sena.
Watch out !!! The hole or placeholder in the motorcycle helmet may not be deep enough for speakers. For example, when installing the SENA 30K in the HJC i 100 helmet. The loudspeaker is approx. 2 mm above the cut-out, the edge causes unpleasant pain on the auricles. The padding is a joke and is even more bulky. So how do I get the hole deeper? If I cut out the plastic at the cut-out and push the polystyrene deeper, I lose the possibility of gluing the speaker there. Almost nothing sticks to polystyrene crumbs. Pouring out might be possible, but with what? Styrofoam doesn't like chemicals! So SENA, make the speaker thinner or show the helmet manufacturers how to make a speaker recess deeper.
Purchased a Sena 30K love the works and looks on it but with my Bell Star helmet (Large) the speakers rub my ears and it hurts.. is there any kind of very slim speakers or alternative way around this?
Remove the speakers and use miniature earphones like etymotic MK5. MUCH better than speakers. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OQG7IC2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Tree climbers use these. New short mic cable sucks. Old one was 3 times longer! Allows us to keep the unit on the back of our helmets. But it’s installed so I guess I’ll get used to it.
Same ;-) A lot went into this one with the Mesh Intercom processor and Bluetooth processor: both can work at the same time, so you can still talk with Bluetooth users too.The voice commands and all are way more complex too. Just waiting for a giant box of "new toys" now :-) Thanks for your support -Alyssa
So how can I tell which side of the microphone is the front side? ( the side that should be facing you) I watched the video and still am not sure.

I'm afraid to put by myself as I might damage my helmet
There was no "hex wrench provided" with my unit.
Neither in mine...

Can you tell me which accessory I need to connect my own 3.5mm standard jack headphones?
Does it work with BMW Motorrad TFT connected screen ?
Yes

Hi Tieng, The speakers only come in the one size. There are speaker foams in the pack to make it more comfortable if they're touching your ears.

So, apparently the 30K doesn't work in DOT half-shell helmets?
Yes it does, you just have to use the boom ,mic already attached to the cradle.

Is the 30k out yet?
Very soon! Pretty much waiting for the shipment from production so we can officially release them ;-) -Alyssa
