That guy was kinda rude. I don't think watching vlogs is sad. It's basically watching a reality show. It's human nature! We're all curious about others. It's interesting how other people live. I watch a lot of vlogs in particular of all the British gals....beautycrush, zoella, amelialiana, icovetthee, Louise, tanyaburr, gabriellalindley. I live in Phx, AZ so I'll live a British life vicariously through them! 🤗
He's wrong does he think that people who watch vlogs sit home all day and do nothing? Is that why he said it's sad, because that is not the case, most people who watch vlogs go to school high school or college, have jobs, some have kids and families, and are busy people. Only because someone watches vlogs it does not mean they do nothing, I enjoy watching vlogs it's like watching a tv show you like after a long day or during your free time, so does that mean people who watch tv or movies are not living out their dreams?! He is probably old so he does not get it.

I am living my own life and dreams, I watch you and others because it actually calms me before or after work. It's like catching up with an old friend (especially if you have been watching for years).
Watching vlogs is more real than watching series/movies it's not some exaggerated fantasy/fiction
It also motivates & inspires me in my personal life to work harder!
Yep! I watch them while I'm doing other things. I am a teacher and do a lot of laminating and cutting projects. I need a variety of things to keep me occupied while doing these tasks!
Interesting way of thinking about vlogs. I think of it as fun to see other people's days and exciting/everyday moments. I don't see it as me not living out my own life because of that!
I'm not watching someone else living their dream instead of living my own. My watching someone else living their dream WHILE ALSO living my dreams. Watching vlogs is the equivalent to watching reality tv for me.

Watching my favorite vloggers has inspired me soooo much! I love watching home decor videos for instance because it inspires me to be productive and create a space that I love! I also love watching students like me in college discuss studying and stress relief tips... the list goes on and on. Totally can have a fulfilled life while enjoying vlogs!!!
Its not really 'sad' it's just that vlogs are the new reality TV. I don't even watch KUWTKs anymore, just my favorite vloggers. I still have work/family/friends/life but in my downtime I enjoy watching vlogs

Honestly that Uber driver could not be more wrong! It's completely natural for us humans to be interested in how other humans live, and I personally find it even more interesting if the other person is living in a different country to me. Also vlogs are pretty much like watching a TV show, so you could say the same thing about that. I just find day to day vlogs so relaxing and it's much more real than even reality shows, so I actually think it's better to watch real people than to watch actors on TV.
Just because I am watching you, does not mean that I am not living my life.

I understand what the Uber driving was saying. For SOME people it is sad that we sit and watch other people live out their dreams. For others, it’s just entertainment.
MakeupIsMyAddiction it is sad in a way. I'm almost the same age as Blair and I'm no where near where I thought I would be at that age. Part of it is because of my choices, another part is because of my circumstances. But watching her doesn't give me the same joy it did when I was younger. I felt like we were in this together, if that makes sense. Now, when I watch my favorite UA-camrs buying their houses and going on fabulous vacations, I can't relate. I really feel like I'm watching them. I don't feel a part of it. I need to figure out my life. And they can't help me out with that. Sadly, that means I have less time to spend watching UA-camrs.

I find it strange how judgmental that driver was. Vlogs are just another form of entertainment. I feel like you can apply that same critique to most forms of entertainment if you wanted. Like “I can’t believe people like to watch made up stories on tv for hours and hours” or “I can’t believe people get so into watching sports where they just run back and forth for an hour.” Entertainment is entertainment, and that’s it.

Yeah, his comment was silly. I don't watch any tv, just various people on UA-cam, and watching real people who I appreciate and find inspiring, interesting and/or funny is way more meaningful to me than watching fictional characters.

Your vlogs are entertaining that's why we watch. It's like watching an old friend chatting about her day. I get what he was saying but I'd rather watch real people than tv and fake scenarios. It's not like people who watch don't have lives. I think most of us watch when we are doing something else and it helps fills the silence. Maybe that's just me. It's like we aren't not living our lives and living vicariously through you. It's just an addition to our lives.
