Hi Rita, firstly ensure the employee shows as casual in the Tax tab and Employment tab, then under the leave tab, change the calculation method to 'no calculation method required' and enter the opening balance as a negative figure that equals the total current balance. This will bring it to 0
Hi Narelle, yes definitely. You'd simply create a pay item for each. So for example 'Shearing' and 'Clutching' then in the hours you type the quantity and set the rate as you've written.
Thanks for nice feedback! If they are working under their own abn I usually enter their invoices via the intray and keep it separate. If they fall under the employee-contractor banner I create a separate Superannuation expense category called 'Superannuation-Contractor Expense' and process a journal quarterly. Debit expense, credit super payable. Hope that helps!
How do I update YTD entitlements (Wages, Super, Deductions, Allowances) in MYOB Essentials? We have migrated from another software and the YTD information could not be transferred.
Hi Syed, You'd need to journal in the balances, for the payroll you'd want to process payruns since 1st of July. Opening balances for leave are able to be entered under the leave tab in the respective employees area. You can also add deductions and allowances under the relevant tab in the employee area too.
thank you so much for your sharing. i would like to ask if i start running the MYOB on 1st of July, however, the annual leave is counted on calendar year, not financial year, what balance should i put in opening balance? is it 152hrs or the number of hours left counting from 1st January? Thank you.
If it's based on the calendar year you should enter in half of the yearly accrual as the opening balance. (eg - if accruing the 4 weeks, they should have two weeks in opening balance) This must take into account any leave taken as well during the first six months prior to starting in Essentials. Hope that helps!
Hi
If employee is casual but in payslip it's still showing annual leave balance so how can I remove that leave balance?

Hi great videos. What do you do when someone is working under their own ABN?

does this software send payslips automatically to the employees emails?
You can click the email icon when processing the payroll and it will send the emails out at the end of posting the payrun for you.
Tall Books thanks a lot great video and answers!
