If you are having problems with windows updates, and receiving windows update failed, then you can download the reset windows update tool and extract it to your desktop. Choose option 2 to reset windows update components, this is a common problem for windows updates and once reset, it fixes the windows update issue.

The biggest issue with Windows Update is that it runs automatically and can't be stopped on Windows Home Edition. The they add "features" that you don't want!
Windows is a malicious virus.
windows+R , services.msc , found windows update, startup type:Manual, start and apply trust it did happend to me

Windows keeps trying to do an update but this shitty os keeps failing. It says we couldn’t complete updates. This makes a boot time from about 5 seconds to about 20 minutes. I am not joking, one time, it took 45 minutes
I didnt get error codes the last 2 times, but I lost several documents, the 85%of what Inhad on desktop and more than 1000fonts.
Microsoft was not able to fix it.
No recovery system was able to find files to recover. It was a disaster.
I tested the disk, it is 100% effective and working. No one knows what’s occurred.
P.S. needles to say: no viruses/malwares etc.

Thanx for the video but it didn't work on my wife's Win 10 home laptop. Tried this method 2 times and other methods that I found but still get an error message. Will wait a couple of weeks as maybe it is a bad update.

My issue is the organization's policy will not let me update. The issue is with getting updates for other Microsoft products.

It worked ! My annoying ass computer kept restarting and trying to update every night at 3:00 in the morning and I have an audio tune on my PC for gaming and that audio tune would reset so I would have to do the whole audio tune every time.
There is an easy way to fix this. You just need to run the disk cleaner and delete the windows update files and other unimportant files and restart after. You can try to do the update or run the troubleshoot after the restart but that’s the easy way to fix this

You can do the same with windows update troubleshooting
You really can’t. It say’s “error installing” this means the windows update successfully downloaded the update BUT can’t install it. The problem here is that there is already a corrupt (same) version of this update in your computer and that’s what the windows update is trying to install so to fix this you should run Disk Cleaner and clean the windows update files

reset windows update tool could’nt find c:\windows\winsxs\pendind.xml.bak. Deleted - c:\windows\ windowsUpdate.log.bak. Error: The system cannot find the file specified. File not found - c:\windows\winsxs\pendind.xml.
When i select reset window update it says some files are missing😢

Don't mess with anything in your PC because the update issues is related to MS Update server and not to your PC
