Students Learn About CSRM at Norfolk District

Keith Lockwood, a chief engineer at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), explains the purpose behind one of the most recent VIP visits to the USACE - Norfolk District office on May 2nd, 2023.
As part of a Maymaster course, these soon-to-be high school graduates from Norfolk Academy toured the city's historic fort and spent the majority of the day engaging seasoned professionals who currently work in the career fields that interest them personally. They learned first-hand from engineers and biologists about the beneficial impact Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) and ecosystem restoration projects provide to communities in the local area and throughout the Commonwealth.
