  • Effective and long-term engineering solutions are not always a one time deal and often require continued monitoring and maintenance. In this video, engineers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Philadelphia and Norfolk districts, Carl Leunig, Jordan Wynn, and Matthew Walter, begin the thorough inspection of the Gathright Dam and Lake Moomaw Project site from April 8th to April 19th, 2024. The meticulous reassessment of this earthen construction ensures its structural integrity and ability to continue contributing to the safety and security of communities along the Jackson River in Covington, Virginia.
Watch as these three members of the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) collaboratively employ their certification in rope rappelling and engineering expertise to make all of this possible.
