  • This 2006 Mazda MX-5 has been suffering from wet carpets when it rains or is washed.
The problem is with the plastic inserts that the cowl retaining screws go in to.
The flimsy gaskets fall apart, allowing water to enter the interior. I used super flexible black RTV silicone rubber to seal them up for good.

Love the videos. Definitely have learned a lot from you but question. I have to pull the engine from my NA and I was wondering how hard it is? It's my first motor pull and it seems pretty basic as I don't have power steering but I think I'm more scared of disconnecting the harness. Would it be an somewhat easy engine pull? Or something Definitely gonna be a pain in the ass?

It’s a bit of work, but totally doable.
Removing the coil pack and Crank angle sensor will make it easier.
