Wish I could give this 2 thumbs. EVERY tutorial I've read or seen has you heating and prying it out from the front. The repair shops here want $130 for a whole new digitizer, and it's just my kid's glass.

Absolutely perfect video! Less than 30 minutes, would have been shorter if I didn't trap the ribbon cables under the motherboard not once but twice. No harm, no foul though, it's like new again!

Why do they have to make it such a mission to change the screen
This Fixez video was the best, the repair and disassembly of the Kindle was my first attempt at doing this and it was made so easy.

I'm sure I won't know until I dig into it but my fire 7 works and just shows a shattered screen.. am I to understand that there is a two-part screen and the outer part comes off first and then the touch or digitizer is underneath and if so am I really just ordering a screen protector or am I ordering a two-piece set

best tutural I will use this video because people charge over $100 to fix screens so i could of broght 2 new tablets, but i did buy one for my daughter it got stepped on now i fix her old one for me

So it sounds like, from what I have read, if you have an Amazon KINDLE Fire HD 7" you will need a combination LCD/Digitizer (as they are bonded) but with an Amazon Fire HD 7"(non-Kindle 3rd Gen) it is possible to replace just the digitizer? Would you happen to carry the digitizer/frame assembly I see other people installing?

Im looking how to replace just the digitizer to my kindle fire hdx 7. i was broken due to someone bumping me while they were running and the repair people say it will cost more to repair than replace, however i dont wish to replace it i seen just the screens up without lcd's which is what i need. Will this method work for my hdx?
My Kindle HDX 3rd generation screen fell flat on its face and cracked. It can come on but the screen is unresponsive do I only need to replace the digitizer assembly?

how do I know which part I need? It looks like a crack in something, but you cant see it when its off and its a diff ineligible screen when you turn it on with an obviose crack in it! So what do I need to order for it? It is just a pain old Kindle. about 2 or more years old.
great video, thank you. I think I did everything right, but when I powered it up, my screen is frozen, (not able to slide the lock or shut down). Battery was dead. Do I just need to charge it up, or did I possibly not connect something? Any help would be appreciated.

My,screen is not cracked like the one shown in the video mine is fine but i turn it on and you can still hear it but just can't see it.

I've had my kindle fire for a few years now. One of my friends dropped it in class and it stopped working. I can press the power button to get to the lock screen but I can't slide across to unlock it.
+Kaci Depending on your specific model, you may be able to replace just your digitizer assembly.

I seem to have a lot of glue holding down my battery.
i replaced the screen everything is working but the touch screen part how can i just check that without taking it all a part
+Sheena Martin You would need to double check your flex cable connections which would require you to take the unit apart. Once taken apart, just ensure the flex cable is seated properly and if the issues continue the digitizer may be faulty.

Here is a little story I was 6 and I had a kindle fire I was playing a game and lost I got so mad I bit the iPad and the bottom left side to I had to call my mom and tell her what I did she said it’s okay and got it fixed soon enough I broke it again so I don’t use kindles anymore only iPhones and iPads
