sounds like a tope picked that mackerel up and it had not had time to take it properly as you need to wait for it to make a 3rd run before striking

@@TheEastbourneFisherman no problem mate, if you target tope then best use steel wire trace. i love tope fishing from shore. i was ment to go to pagham the other night but couldnt go

Do you use a circle hook on a running ledger as i will have to male some rigs up
@@TheEastbourneFisherman you can use what ever hook you want to really, 7/0 or bigger be ideal. you can use a running ledger or pulley rig

How freaky, we live in Eastbourne and follow your channel, but arrived on holiday at Pagham Church Farm for a weeks holiday today. I know where you are, we’re just round the corner in the harbour. Happy fishing!

Well done Olivia . If you r useing circle hooks dont strike as fish runs stop run by stopping line by tightening drag or use finger 2 stop run . Well done again Olivia keep beating dad .Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick

You've got me beaten, surely if the fish has picked up the bait and line is running of the reel it must be the time to strike. Are the baits too big or the hooks too big? Well I have not got a clue.

Well at least you did not blank and you both caught so was not a waste of journey well don to you both all am catching just now is seaweed fish 😂😂😂 but enjoying getting out tight lines till the next one

Pagham is my usual area of choice it's as you saw very shallow and fishes best over big tides over 5m however really good at low if your prepared to wade out with a lure rod for bass it's a good area and try again also prawn and squid seem to take the rays and sandeel takes dogs and squid normally takes hounds

50lb braid straight through? how are you finding it? are you losing any casting distance without a mono leader?
Evening Colin, im currently using a 50lb straight through fireline braid, i personally find it much easier and i can punch it a fair distance tbh im no extreme power caster but it sure goes out a fair way.
Benifits are ultra sensitive bite indication every little move you see
I really like it
However i fish mainly solitary now on my own in the middle of night
If i went back to comps again i would possibly go back to 24lb fireline and asso taperer leader for saftey
