Thanks for the amazing cast. This was probably the most entertaining set I played in the tournament. I could hear the elephants chopping and expected them, since Beargwyn rushed me with elephants the last time we played this map. Tournament nerves was a definitely a part of this game, especially after losing the game prior, but the experience was definitely worth it. The other community members have been awesome and I'd recommend anyone to join the next coming one.
I thought those units were done for. I retreated the conqs and left the pikes to die as a distraction; ! didn't even notice that they did so much damage
It feels like this shows how great a Low Elo civ Spanish. Good options for lots of different units and strong monks and conqs ? And most of all a tech that makes your vills into genuine good fighters.
After a certain point, Beargwyn seems to have gone into full "Black Knight" mode from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Perhaps he was driven to that point by the Spanish Inquisition that nobody expected...
I can hear a chainsaw anywhere in the valley! So a catapult with a crew of three minimum loading firing and using the stones to flatten the forest… might hear that coming before I see it coming
Also that gave me an idea that could make things crazy or interesting! An option for vils to destroy logs/trees so they go chop the tree then maybe the time to get a pod of logs it then the tree is just gone so you can cut with vills I get the tree cutting into house building planks takes a long time but if I just “slash and burn” and can clear a large swath of threes easy but I don’t get lumber from it??? Thoughs player testa theory?
When red came through the first time I can't imagine how big a win blue could've had if he had used his monks on different elephants. That would've been 8 free elephants, YOINK
As a person that mains Khmer that pikemen play was so saddening... If you have a ball of elephants, you can take down 60 pikemen in a snap! Having a good mix of elephants and trash units is how you win with Khmer. He just needed to scout the army
I got a MegaRandom with the huge circle forest in the middle. I heard the balista elephants coming toward my camp, but it was after such a long break from DE I forgot how to counter them, and got wiped out (even though I replaced 40 vils that would get slaughter with entire army I had on hand before the enemy finished cutting xD)
Can you please explain this? I get the Ballistas are blindly moving, having been set to go to a certain point, but they can’t attack? How do you attack/move?
People that have idle units and not placing in a way for ideal line of sight is painful sometimes. Map information is more powerful than an idle army standing in the darkness unaware.
If you're gonna send a large group of your best unit to a part of the map far away that is contested and you are not gonna watch them all.the way FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! use attack move.
Can you make a video that would explain more how the community tournament works? What happens after signing up? Do you need to qualify somehow, do you ban / pick civs somehow? I've only seen game casting so no idea how it works
Thank you for casting the game! Rewarching this game is always as painful as it was playing it...
You had murder holes?
@@dhruvkaushik9476 I did not
@@Beargwyndon’t need them to shoot a boar 😂😂😂

i like the bird which did a 180 in the middle around 4:30
How tf do u notice something like that? xD
@32:30 T90 putting himself to sleep taking about blacksmith upgrades 😂
i can't tell if Blue was a genius player or just a lucky one. His pikemen destroying the ballista elephants marked the end of the game for sure
That was nuts
One forgets to attack move instead of right clicking, and all of a sudden the army is gone...

As a low ELO player myself, this game was sooooo much fun to watch. Love it.
When your opponent starts to attack with villagers and actually make progress you know you are gonna lose. lmao
If you look at 17:13, you can see that blue was walling both sides with buildings.
"As you know...nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition"- T90 2024
26:40 Red deletes the castle one second before it gets trebbed, good job man, I would have missed that

Yeah, strong paladins and halbs, one of the best unique units and a very good navy if needed.
After a certain point, Beargwyn seems to have gone into full "Black Knight" mode from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Perhaps he was driven to that point by the Spanish Inquisition that nobody expected...
I have a feeling that blue heard the ballistas in game but capture age does not have the same bug/feature to hear projectiles outside of vision

Aoe2 logic lol. What's the best way to clear your way through a thick forest? Build a catapult and launch clusters of small rocks at it...
When red came through the first time I can't imagine how big a win blue could've had if he had used his monks on different elephants. That would've been 8 free elephants, YOINK
For a second I thought I saw a Nili hippo there and my heart jumped a little 😅

Oh I knew the army was thereabouts. You forget to patrol/attack move, look away for a second and....
These community tournament videos are great. I'd play in one of these. Sounds like fun.
seeing the rhino hiding made me wonder who wins more in that map, upper player or bottom one?

Great game and casting. Totally support your efforts to fix the bricks covering zebra a**e bug. Fix that devs and itll be game changing. Stay true ✊

anyone know how/where to get the map packs?
Steam workshop
@@Jello_Criminal Thanks
Anyone else think this map should be called chicken little? Owl maybe lol?
Blacksmith upgrades are one thing, but wouldn't those ballista elephants have done much better with ballistics?

Each tournament is different, you don't need to qualify to participate- it's open to all. And yes,we did pick/ban maps and civs
Ive played Bishop!! hes a good guy!
staring at 940 elo player being called lel meanwhile i have 540
Spoiler block
Good man
Get outta here
Great game
Good thing the map was diagonal. If it was straight Bishop would have had to go through the trees.
How can I get that map?
How could you spoil the winner of hidden cup then say spoilers afterwards it's not like it's been out for half a year or anything
Ugh, so tired of the bricks on the zebra's ass bug ruining games...
It's called historical accuracy, get with it
can you mod AOE2 so you can make a like 100 player game?
No.
fun game
Spoiler HC5 in 7:20.
That herd of ballistas Just aimlessly walking into a wall of pikes…. Made me throw up in my mouth A little bit
Would be cool if the lel tournaments had a prize pool. Even a small one
940 is low dam x.x
I’m ill atm and threw up while watching these videos
Map looks like nerd wearing 3d glasses
🤓
First lol
