Get down ferryside and give Big Ben a go, I fish it often, some times produces outstanding sessions and sometimes doesn’t, I’d love to see your tactics and results 👍🏻 brilliant videos as always
another good video lloyd, we have a caravan just by there and that mark is my summer pleasure, had 2 lovely bream there, scratching about with the conti, i really need to try it mre in the winter months thanks for sharing bud.
Hi Keith, thanks for watching. It is certainly a cracking venue.... it’s beginning to get a great reputation for big fish in the summer. Hopefully we will hook in to a few next summer 🦈
Nice vid. I’ve got a match Sunday on the north Norfolk coast which I expect we will be scratching around for dabs. Interesting with the bait. I’ll be giving that a go. Rig will be a Portsmouth with a wishbone on the bottom size 2 hooks. Fingers crossed
Good luck in your match Carl. This bait seems to work here but may not in other parts of the country, all you can do is give it a a try and see. Thanks for watching the video. Tight lines.
Conti rods can be great sport!! Had rays and hounds on mine and they put up a great fight. Would always recommend try before you buy. Thanks for watching.
Do you ever use fresh shrimp for bait? Here in New York we buy fresh shrimp from Chinese supermarkets and use it for our winter flounder. Works better than other baits.
Cracking mark mate. Fishes well in both summer and winter. Well done on your tope we’ve had a go for them there but nothing to shown for it.... well nothing yet!!!
@@BanditFishingUK we were plagued by them for years staple match catch then the rays moved in big time and the dabs have dropped off noticeable i like a bit of light gear fishing
Hi Owen, I do like the Tronixpro baiting tool in the small size. It’s the one I’m using in the video. It makes nice small well presented baits. Thanks for watching
Just a quick one fishing sun in comp North channel after Dabs what size weights should i use i got a dab rig which sits on the bottom was thinking watch weights or should i use or impact etc because of the flow ! Any help be great please🐟👍
Hi Gary, you can usually get away with a 4oz gripper there if you’re fishing smaller diameter lines. As for what’s a better lead, have one with a watch/plain lead and another rig with a gripper see what catches more fish and change all rigs to the same. Good luck for the comp hope you catch plenty
@@BanditFishingUK thanks pal. The last time I caught dab, I was on the boat fishing out of Burry Port a long time ago. Think I'll do some research and get a session pencilled in for down there. 👍
Hi Lloyd. Great video - watched it a few times now and never get bored. I’m local to that mark and was wondering when we’re you there to film this and did you use gripper leads? Had a few flounder the other night about a mile further down the beach.
Hi Rhys, I was there around mid November that’s when I’ve always gone in the past to target the dabs. I was using a grip lead on this occasions there can be quite a strong tide flow at times and I was casting at distance to a gully so wanted my bait to stay in there and not roll around. Thanks for watching.
@@BanditFishingUK one more question sorry. After prepping and binding the baits together were you then binding your baits onto the hooks or just sliding them over the hook?
Yes I nick the bait on the the hook and bind around the eye to keep it in place. When you prep the baits before it’s only done loosely and get the better lashing on once they’re on the hook.
Hi Gary, it’s the small tronixpro baiting tool. Great for the smaller more delicate baits. I find I can knock up a few baits fast with this for speed fishing in matches. Thanks for watching 🎣

Good watching, great fish dabs and flounders, learned things as well... thanks
Just catching up on my watching. A couple of nice dabs. Keep the videos coming. Tight lines to you and all your subs.
Thanks for your time and effort for the upload, much appreciated.
Another good Video Lloyd, plenty of good info without all the waffle, nice to know what line, size hooks and great baiting up section. Cheers, Andy.

Nice little video mate, I love the flatties myself. Admittedly only had about three dabs tho🤔. Well done🙌🙌🎣

Another brill video 🎣🎣👍
Hi Lloyd where is this fishing venue? Thoroughly enjoyed the video.... keep them coming.
This venue is found between Burry Port and the South-Eastern side of Cefn Sidan beach
Enjoyed that good video
Fishing for flounder and dabs is something I would love to do alot more of, been thinking about a conti myself for it aswell

Nice vid again

Hi, no we don’t use shrimp for bait. If we can get some we will give it a go. 👍
My 1st tope come of North cracking beach right on my doorstep 🎣🦈

@@BanditFishingUK codling there now, good for smooth hounds loads up to 8lb my mate had a 15lb also thornies there 👍
another good video Lloyd all that Dabs have been eaten by rays by us dropping in numbers now
Hi Paul, this is probably one of the most prolific venues for us with them. Not uncommon to have a triple shot of them and fish over 1lb.

Another great video. It’s not often you see UA-camrs making videos targeting Dab.
Can I ask, where is North channel? Is it around Cefn Sidan?
Hi Taffy, yes it’s the mouth of estuary at the end of cefn Sidan, Effectively it’s burry port.
DAB has to be one of my favourite fish to catch.

480cm won that comp was a poor night really
Agree hard fishing with crabs out in force. Think I ended with something around 230cm I saw the results a few days after 👍
@@BanditFishingUK we found it quite tough in the other comp. Needs a big cold snap to get rid of the crabs 😩 welcome to join us at a comp!
Hi Ben I may take you up on that and enter one of the comps you have. Will take a look at what you’ve got coming up soon and book on if I’m free.
Whats the smock you have on?
Hi Nathan, it’s a guy cotton Smock. Thanks for watching. 👍

Out of the vass350 and guy Cotten smock which one would you chose ? Thanks
@@thomaskinsey4087 Hi Tom, every day of the week it will be the guy cotton it’s much better than the Vass and I have had them both.
Great thanks 🎣
