I got a new at max my at pro broke a few weeks ago. But saved 66 bucks with the discount code
3:32 looks like a wall tie plate. That bolts down onto the large circular disc to stop walls bowing. Nice certificate in the background from The Big Detecting Show, I voted for you 😃
I always enjoy your content! Stay safe!
I enjoyed you video. What type of metal detector do you use?
Do you have to get an OK to do metal detection?
I'm new to this . Thanks for taking your time reading my comment
Debbie
@@debilee1654 Hello Debbie. Aquachigger (Beau) only replies to a few comments for about 30 minutes after a video is released. He has stated that it is because he has so many subscribers 1.2 million and so many videos, and over a number or platforms, he can't cope with all the comments, questions and the notifications that are generated. As a Long time follower, I can tell you that Beau exclusively uses the Garrett AT Max. You need permission from Landowners to detect. Some parks are okay, check Bylaws, and most school fields are okay. Rivers depend on where property lines are marked, but river beds are normally fair game, beaches in general are okay. State parks need permission. Finally, the country where you are is also a consideration. For instance metal detecting is not permitted in Ireland and in Portugal. Hope that helps.
Wow, it looked as if you were boating over pea soup!
Hey Chigg,
I believe the item you said looks like a shield is a headlight reflector and the shield pattern is for the ears of the bulb.
The 4 legged part with the hole in it is a part of an inspection plate for some type of a tank for fluids or steam. It’s missing the plate and the screw that goes through the hole in the 4 legged part you found.
Have a good one.
The shield looking item is an old heatlight shroud.
Reflector.
...forks are usually a great age indicator because 2 tine forks are 1700s 3 tine forks are 1800s and 4 tine are 1900s ...🙂
We love if you find one treasure or a boat full,,,it's all the adventures you take us on 😁👍
Always ready to watch another Aquachigger River Adventure!
That's cool. The old brass fitting with the pipe looks like an old water hose nozzle.
3:28 that kind of reminds me of the steam boiler inspection plates off a traction engine a large bolt would go through the centre and would act like a clamp on the boiler
I believe that's what it is.
A dog off an old boiler.
That brass cap with the spout came off an old time oil bottle, the kind you fill yourself then press the bottom and it goes "boink! doink!" My grandpa had several of those oil bottles. 3rd Armored Division! You've probably been to Kentucky, Texas, and Germany. My brother is a CW4 who runs armored vehicle maintenance shops. 🙂
Didn't think of that. I've got several of those that were my grandfather's.
@@chrisdriver8453 Yeah! Some were steel, some brass!
That’s exactly what I thought too…. I have a similar one on a glass jug, the glass jug also has a chain webbing over it… early nineteen hundreds? Used for kerosene to fill lamps 🤙😎
As stated earlier the brass cap looks like it was for an old oil can. The fork is called a bean fork according to my late grandmother, we have her fathers from the Civil War.
Hey from Va.❤ Really enjoy your videos Chiggy!! Thanks! 😺🐈🐕🐈⬛🐶🐱
Great video, also watched you on a show last night called The River Hunters in the UK
Can't believe I missed this. We old folk don't always remember to check our msgs! ...lol
Time for an afternoon picture show!
Thanks from London!
Chigg, @02:10 that is a steel wedge to hold old-fashioned brake shoes in on rail cars. Springsteel.
Thanks Chigg, I love the fork also , I found a 3 tine fork with wooden handles and pewter on the ends of the handle in a known Union Army
Camp area .
Well done chigg
Cool to see the 3rd armor Div patch. My Pop was in that div in Germany 66-67!
Sure I really appreciate when you tell us about the items you find. The carving on that fork was awesome.
I really like the mini-ball sinkers as well! I noticed your 3rd AD sign. I was in the 1st AD Cco 1/6 Inf. Division. HOOAH!!
I love that 3-ringer made into a sinker. Cool stuff Man. 👍
First comment and like 👍
With love from SAM
Guwahati, Assam, India 🇮🇳 ♥️
Thanks for watching!
Howdy Chigg from California .
That fork is sweet brother, nice find!! I like your knife as well. I have one in my collection in that exact style with a shield that looks to be the same, mine is from right at 1900. Also that pattern was in alot of the early 1900s knife catalogs. Thanks for a great adventure!!
Love the wrap ups. ❤👍🏼
Good Hunt Chigg.!!!!👍👍✌✌
Thanks Chig'
Great hunt Chig. Really appreciate the wrap up. Thanks.
You've been on the fun stuff all summer! Great spread of artifacts on the trusty red table.
Nice finds!
Awesome video as always!
The fork is my favorite!
Looks like a lot of cookware, camp type cookware!!
Nice to see you out on the Mokai again.
Awesome video, interesting as usual!!!
Another very interesting video. Love the fork. The cross shaped bit of metal at 3.24 could be the clamp from an inspection hatch on a compressor air tank. A bolt passes through the central hole into the small hatch door which then pulls it tight against the inside rim of the opening. Sad that I know that. I really should get a life !!
I have no idea why you would find shame in the greatest strength you could have: Knowledge.
😊
Chiggs, love your finds and thoughts of what they were used for. Looked like a great day to be out on the rivers. Take care👍👏😀
Awesome finds
Nice adventure and finds!
Chigg, that object that looks like a coat tree stand has me fascinated. I think, however, that it's a heavy duty puller for flywheels or something.
As people have already guessed: headlight reflector, oil can spout, dog to a access hatch in a boiler for cleanout. Could have been stationary or a steam tractor boiler. Also seen that type of dog for compressed air tanks.
Late to the party! Time to relax and watch another adventure.
Hey Chigg, I Lost my Google account for a couple weeks & couldn't post a *like or Comment, but now I'm Back Baby, I'm Back!! And now, on to the Hunt!
👍Someone likes your video!!😊
The old two-tine fork - here in the UK we call them pickle-stickers (or variations of) used for getting pickles out of the jar without spilling the vinegar everywhere.
If you come to a Fork in the river - TAKE IT!
Good one!!!!!😁
@@Robin-py5jx 👍 Thank You, I'll be here all week
The item at 4:08 is the back of a headlight. The hole in the center is where the bulb goes.
I see the spearhead patch I was in OldIronsides 1st Armor Division
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
Good evening>
Fire place grate leg
Hey Chigg
The shield looking thing is a taillight housing without the lens.
Greta day Chigg
A thing with four legs remind me of the inner tube repair tool it had a gear that fit in the middle of that with a flat plate
Aloha Chigg, Mahalo for the companionship!
That thing with the four feet could have been part of an end iron set from an old fireplace.
4:22 Napster gateway!!! 😂
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos..I just recently got a new metal detector... it's a minelab xterra pro...I wanted something that didn't cost a ton of money but was still a very nice detector.. now if I can just get used to it and learn how to use it correctly...I've watched several videos on here that show how change the settings and everything, but I'm more of a hands on, learn as I go type of person..
It's been a long time since I saw one. My take on the 4 legged part could be the bottom of the fire poker and, brush stand. I saw others say inspection plate part. They are most likely right but, that's my guess.
Guess who I just saw on the Documentary Channel?
Congrats!
Chigg, I sub a handful of detector sites. Hillsdale Boys, Rocks Cousteau, Scottish Detectorist, Terra Germania and you. All diverse areas, with different finds. But you are my favorite. Probably because of your personality and that you work the rivers that I know. I asked this before. Do you own "The Shenandoah River, Rediscovering the History of the Shenandoah and it's Branches" The copy I have was copyright 1997 by the Virginia Canals and Navigation Society, published by The Friends of the Shenandoah River. If you don't have a copy I would be happy to find one for you. It's a book that you could really profit from. Thanks for the many hours of enjoyment over the last few years.
That looks like the top of an oiling can.
Maybe the tine on the fork was broken when it was used to poke a hole in the MiniBall so a soldier could fish?
6th like, love all your metal detecting videos, they are inspiring for future metal detectorist, i still have to metal detect, its been a while since ive gone.
Thanks
@@aquachigger your welcome
That pocket knife looked like a dogleg or serpentine frame which would be 20th century, but the particular shield and fluted bolsters suggest pre war.
Probably 20's-30's by one of the big cutlers in the northeast from what I saw.
The spike thing looks like the ones that hold break shoes on train wagons. Can’t remember the name but we still use similar shape pins here in Australia on our grain wagons
That 4 prong pcs with a hole is to pull the inspection plate on a large air compressor tank
That thing around 3:31 sure looks like a really old lamp bass to me. A long pipe would be threaded into it to support a lamp. OR, it could easily just be a piece of junk!
Clawfoot stove
That was a headlight housing.
That thin item is a headlamp reflector
Chigg, can you give us the run down of your little boat thing?? What in the world is it??
I'm thinking the piece of metal you found at 4:07 is from an older style car 🚗 headlight..but I could be wrong
iron thing with the hole in it was a coat rack.
One you thought was fourged sure looks like a railroad brake shoe pen
Railroad brake shoe pin, that’s the ticket.
Okay, you're the second person to identify it as one of those. I'm interested seeing as I've found one of those things way over here in Stockton California. I'm a historian and collector of SP RR and B&O stuff. The one I have WAS found near the tracks, so...cool.😊
Any idea how old it is? Are they from a specific era, or are they still in use?
@ Peter
When the railroads had to change from asbestos brake shoes to carbon break shoes I think is when they changed the brake rigging and omitted those wedges. I think it was the early 70s.
Head light frame
Lamp stand
End of a garden hose.
Two prongs between Angel , and you , are like Fangs .
More prongs is slower , and fatter .
Two Fangs , is faster , and thin .
*54 probably a natural gas fitting from the gaslight era of the late 19th and early 20th century before electricity was common.
The 4th or so find was a headlight bucket from a car
My grandfather ate peas with a knife . Looking at the forks I can see why . Lol
Do you get those shirts at Cabela's ?, I bought a few recently. I like the flap over the pocket. On the round up looks like you had the shirt with velcro closures for the pockets, how do you like them? Also are they cotton or canvas and are they vented in the back? So many questions I know, but I really like those shirts you wear.
I do hope he answers you. I’ve been wondering where he gets his uniforms for years.
@@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 I bought some at Cabela's they are all on sale, look in their bargain cave but hurry all the larger sizes are going fast & I had the shirts with free shipping in 2 days. I bought the canvas, the cotton and the vented backs and they washed up perfect in cold water. The canvas have triple stitching
That might be a zip tab instead of a pull tab.
Chig
Have you ever found a real Canon or is that still a dream find?
What do you use to treat the wood on relics?
332nd!!
Will you be attending the RCM rally and Detectival 2024l this year?
At 4:20 , looks like the refector for a headlight on a car ?
Or taillight ? Brake light , blinker , back up bulb.
Grease cup
Could the copper lid be from an oiler
I wonder if the two fishing weights were made by the same guy
Do you still go to DIV ?
I hear voices in the background?
1st
You're back!
@@aquachigger I got my groove back!
You should leave modern trash you find for metal detectorists 100 yearsfrom now
We won't be here a 100 years from now
