Very interesting, looking at the ''sales technique'' used by Gary. Obviously, this guy knows what he is doing. If you want to see results notice how Gary is asking questions to uncover if the prospect is qualified for what Gary is selling. Immediately ''Hello, who would I speak to about you guys possibly advertising on my beer blog?'' - By this question, Gary is finding out who the decision maker is, not wasting time on someone who doesn't have the authority. NEXT QUESTION ''I'm wondering if I was able to build up my audience to 2-3000 people daily, would your site have an interest in maybe buying advertising or sponsor a show or two to bring attention to your site?'' (In this question Gary shows the prospect the value of the product and by that creating a DESIRE to be a part of the deal). After that, Gary mediates TRUST and CERTAINTY, telling the prospect about his plan and how he's not going to waste his time. The talk about the ''targeted audience'' just creates more desire to be a part of the deal, since that would probably lead to business.
The guy is interested in the end and tells Gary to get in touch when he gets the blog rolling. Desire + Certainty + Trust = Commitment to accept the deal (very likely).
This will certainly help you make your deals happen, but most importantly above all is action.

I can’t get over this video, so helpful. I work in the commercial HVAC industry in outside sales and cold calling is basically all I do. It’s always valuable getting to see “behind the curtain” of people’s process. Especially when that person is Garyvee. Thank you for sharing!

Well done! A simple phone call goes so far. Many people are afraid of the cold call and I always think, "what would I positively respond to when receiving a cold call" and direct communication without trying to have something shoved down my throat is always the response. This episode is a great way to show people that a simple call with the simple details and a humble yet direct approach works!

That was awesome and hysterical. The best part was that the guy on the phone had no idea who Gary Vaynerchuk is and he's in the booze industry. The other funniest thing was Gary apologizing for costing the advertiser a couple of cents after he just got his beer site thousands and thousands of eyes. You're awesome, Gary. Apologizing for costing the beer site a couple of cents shows that you have no idea what a huge dude you are. Many people could take a lesson from your humility.

I am a political consultant who is using Gary V's stuff for my candidates. If political candidates put the "Thank You Economy" to work attracting voters-then they will be much more successful. I have already given 5 books away to clients/candidates.

Affiliate - basically, you run their ads and they pay you per click (ppc), or per action (CPA; "action" - signed up or made purchase). Adsense is a type of affiliate program. "Regular" would be akin to "CPM" which means the advertiser pays you $X for every impression ("impression" = each time you run their ad). Hope this helps.

Here in 2020 and still getting so much value from this! Affiliate programs are well established now from most major companies but has anyone had experience of getting a customised deal with a small business like this?

Actually that was the first video I saw Gary Vaynerchuk in. It was on mycomeup.com and I said to myself: "Who is that guy that yells like this?". It didn't make any sense at first. Then I saw some keynotes and digged in deeper in your work. I cannot thank you enough (although haven't yet read the Thank u Economy-just rereading Crush it) for spreading the message of real sh.t and what life is all about - love. This come up in my recommended videos. Cold calling really is the way to get people interested. Would have loved to see him close the deal. Gary just put the hook in the water and didn't set it.

this advice is great and so hard to execute to me, I'm so afraid of calling people who I don't know...but I'm not a sales person, maybe I should have one... But anyway: watching you in elegant shirt and not in a plain blouse like you use to in 2016 shows me that not only your business grow but also your your self esteem - now you don't have to prove or act like "adult mature businessmen" - but instead you wear a t-shirt or hoodie and you simple are it, no disguise. Or maybe you had some stylist advise? I don't know, but t-shirt and hoodies suits you best :)
