@@baldgaming6204 I hated the "Foxy Foxy" single, so I never listened to the American Horses album. I missed out.... There is a bunch of amazing guitar work and Rob Zombie being Rob Zombie. I felt fucking stupid...
@@howiseeit5326 Everyone claims Rob was lip syncing. 1 Rob has literally seemed ill to some extent (probably all the theater stuff [apple juice fog + other junk]) and tours like a monster with focus on stunts beyond vocals. Even veterans like Korn envy the effects Rob does, but likely avoid the extra stress (considering Rob is likely also in charge of most of the legal/construction as a director of movies) of doing such. Performing one good set while healthy is not an issue for Rob. It may sound better because he is healthier? Further, as he is friends with Howard Stern, and for fun produced song to prove that even Howard (live included) could sound well with the mastery of vocal coding effects Rob does/contributes to - does not mean anything less of him during this. I saw the Godsmack/Zombie show at Darien Lake, NY. I went to see my favorite band Godsmack, and I watched Zombie blow them out of the country. Tommy Clufetos has to be the hardest working, greatest concert drummer I've ever seen. Piggy was great, 5 was awesome and Zombie put on one crazy show.
DAMMIT! I love the skeletal-props used on the stage plus the green-flames on the metal-objects, they add an extra-layer of Gothic-Sleaziness that (to me at least!) is so dynamic! This is all-ready my favorite Rob Zombie song
i agree, no lip sync.. he's known for breathlessness during a concert but has improved monstrously.. no lip sync at all.. if you listen he short lines, skips words or shorten the verse to keep up..... saw him and ozzy in detroit in december 2007 and by christ, did he rule the show, awesome!!!!!!!
I've seen him in concert a number of times and each show he opened with this song!!! What a pump. The come out with the mask, smoke, the long trench coats!!! Awesome Rob...Flat out Awesome!!
I saw him in concert 3 times last year. He opened with this song each time. Talk about starting a show off with energy!! It was dam near overwhelming! Long live the Zombie!!
Zombie puts on a great stage show, he is a great performer, his antics on stage drive the music to the extreme, he gets your blood pumping and your feet stomping, unless your dead. The entire complex of people are moving in a great wave, it is a great concert. The drummer is insane, as great as they come, every member puts on the best show for everyone, like your the first concert. You that say negative comments have never been to one of the concerts...
It’s not actually lip sync’d.. I think the sound board had effects on his vocals.. if you listen to the original track he doesn’t cut off his words at the end of sentences like he does in this video... it’s just a vocal effect on his voice is all it is... 100% no lip sync
Performing live and in the studio are two totally different beasts. He's cutting his words off because he's out of breath mainly. All that moving around puts a real strain on you. Something you don't get in the studio.
zombie is a badass live, he sounds amazing live, ive seen him many times live, the only difference between this and his "actual" live shows is he isnt running around and being out of breath
This song for me pretty much symbolizes that RZ hasn't sold out. The truth is he's just been around for quite awhile, so he's getting more radio play and mainstream exposure like all older rockers do. He's no spring chicken anymore. He's just not up to going fast and hard all the time, but as American Witch proves he can still rock it out when he wants to
Ahhh, the beautiful harmonies and melodic instrumentation/vocals and driving rythm reminds me of the days when I was 6 years old and left for hours to wonder in the city cemetery! ahhh those were the days....
Seen him live three times this year! Awesome show. Love that dam drummer. He is back there in his own world everytime just rockin his ass off! Watch him in any zombie clip or show you see!
i have to agree with metalhead here. john 5 has got to be one of the most skilled guitarists i have ever heard. He can play many types of music, he has all his theory down and most importantly he knows how to make good music.
I just saw him less than a year ago and he was running around and jumping like he was 20. I don't know what you are talking about. Everything was live, and it was amazing. It's not pre-recorded at his concerts. TV yeah probably because most of it is required by the station.
I agree. People need to remember that these guys are pros, and they always play live with a click track to keep them at the original tempo, and also for the sound clips that are used in the songs. Rob has alot of extra bits and pieces added into his music that is played through a backtrack during live performances in order to capture the true power of the song. Can you imagine a Rob Zombie performance with just the live instruments going? It wouldn't be the same at all!
I wonder how loud that was in the actual studio? You get a pretty broad spectrum of people at these things (I was at the Tonight Show once...and you have old people, young people, middle aged people, etc)...and I can see a lot of people with their fingers in their ears screaming to their husband/wife "Who are these people? Why are they all scary and loud?" lol
Sam Mitchell Bro I love Rob, but he definitely alters his vocals live. Listen to any live performance when he speaks to the crowd. This may or may not be lol synced but he definitely alters his vocals live. I mean who doesn't anymore lol
Vyrisus I don't think he is either. But every time I've seen him live (11 times) he sounds like he has his vocals a bit altered, like that of the chorus effect on a guitar. Sounds just like it live. Nothing wrong with it to be honest. If I can turn on my wah pedal to make my soloing sound better, then singers could do the same with microphones. Just enjoy the show everyone!!
OMG... this video made me shed a tear... that crowd is getting to see a live Rob Zombie concert with damn near front row seats... and all they can do is CLAP? C'mon... if I would there I would've been cheering and headbanging through the entire song!
I saw Rob in Calgary in August last year, even though he dressed his stage down a lot from his Hellbilly days, it was a first rate rock show, just awesome. Some people have it, some people wish they did....Rob's got it
That's bad ass. I've never EVER seen a bad show from White Zombie/Rob Zombie. Who wouldn't be cool so have Zombie in their name? I wished I'd been in the audience. Those lights are wicked.
zombie kicks ass! great song i saw him with ozzy osbourne and in this moment at the staples center. he was soo badass with a skull mask and john5 shreds!!
This was better than the album version! Especially his deeper voice. Drawn to this song because of the phrase American Witch. I'm full Native and I'm sure people have heard of Skinwalkers. But in my culture, they are witches. So just connecting modern life with past experiences...
John 5 has the be one the most underrated guitarists of our generation.
He's creative. Especially knowing how Manson and Zombie want to sound. Talented as fuck.
