I think there kind of is a flaw with the idea of buying a place in some journal for them to get the copyright of the work. And also profit from free labour from sharpest of experts, who kind of are coerced to peer review without compensation.

Science is funded almost exclusively by tax-money and charities. That media do not report on this every week is sad. If you need ideas on further topics for future videos, dont hesitate to send me a PM. One obvious is "kit-ificcation" and black boxes in medical science, we do no longer know what we are doing as these reactions are hidden by IP.
also, the issues described herein along with the behaviours it encourages among some scientists and sometimes against other scientists (theft, sabotage, etc), were what led me to not pursue a phd in a applied science. perhaps my own path would have been different had the bold people like Elbakyan come before I made my decision.
