I've played both in the 70s and opted for a Guild F50-RNT (same body style as the F55). It has held up like a tank, nearly 50 years old and I'm playing it out weekly. In the early 80s I bought the matching Guild F512 (12-string) which has an incredible ring to it. No complaints with Guild! You really can't go wrong with either instrument.
From this video I would choose the Guild simply because the Gibson is out of tune :)

I play an epiphone sj200 cut away. I hot a steal of a deal on it at a pawn shop. I really like it.
Neither is better than the other. J200’s and Guilds are both amazing, although they are unique to one another
Gibson surely has better sunburst transition and better body shape! :P
Definitely Gibson
