  • Mudlarking finds after a storm. Fallen trees and rushing water! Join us as we check out the river after a storm. Trees had fallen over, exposing interesting things around the roots . Collapsed bankings released interesting finds. We had a wonderful time, so good that we didn;t want to go home. Such wonderful finds and such a fun time mudlarking on the river :)

You 2 are absolutely the sweetest couple! Phil's excitement when finding a brick and Caroline's excitement finding pipe bowls and stems. I love watching your videos, thank you, ❤😊

I enjoyed this so much, I watched it twice! That fabulous river worn brick is just perfect, gorgeous pipes, the terracotta elephant, beautiful bottles, and I can’t wait to see those teapots repurposed. The sound the river makes is divine too. Definitely a place to return to over and over again! LOVE it. Thank you so much my lovelies xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺

Caroline's knobbly bobbly pipe bowl wins. I always see others discarding pipes or pieces of them and thinking how much she would appreciate them.

Your river was running so fast. I confess to feeling a bit nervous for you both, even though I knew you had stayed safe, as I was watching your video. But it did reveal some great treasures after the storms. Phil I loved your brick! It had worn to a beautiful shape. But what a haul. Teapots, pipe bowls, elephants, such a variety! thanks for taking us along. Oh, and find of the week? I've got to just marginally give it to Caroline's knobbly pipe bowl. But only a hair's breadth in front of your elephant.

Yes, we had to watch our step, with the river flowing so fast, but getting there just after the storm passed certainly paid off. And how often do we struggle to decide on find of the day 😄😂 Thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼

Ooh. I was so excited you got the pipe bowl and a knobbly one. Very cool. I think it's a draw, Phil. Maybe the pipe bowl edges out the elephant. What a day. Well, we are getting much-needed rain tonight. Most of the afternoon as well. Maybe tomorrow. I'm being a worried mom because Isaac is at a robotics event and has to drive in this wet weather late tonight. It's not a far drive but I am always anxious when there inclimate weather. Enjoy the weekend.

It's nice to see some older bottles and a few pipes etc. I went to a big dump near Chester for the first time yesterday and it was fantastic! Some old railway cups etc which got me excited, even if they were broken sadly!

Wow you guys - what a mudlark! Wonderful finds and I can't decide between the little terracotta elephant & the wonderful knobbly pipe bowl, both evenly terrific finds! That flooding in the river must have been quite scary to have broken things which normally survive a flood, but you were still able to find some gorgeous items even with a sodden foot & leg and uncertain ground, lol! Thank you for taking us with you on an entirely enjoyable fossick by the river 😊

Its no wonder the banks are eroded, in the Cardiff area we've had nearly five times the normal rainfall for February.
Post storms are always a good time to go searching, i once found a lovely old mineral water bottle that had rolled out of the bank and settled in the mud near the bankside.
    Best wishes to you both.👍

We seem to go from one storm into another recently Tracy, so when the ground is drenched the river runs high and the wind blows, those trees in made up ground start to topple! Glad you liked the elephant 🤠😎🐼

Such a pretty bottle the one without the bottom. I have seen where people cut the bottom off and string a light in it and make them into a hanging lamp, they are quite popular in the small sandwich shops here and pubs n such. Such wonderful finds! I love the teapots and the elephant! I do Love the knobbly pipe!

My mother got excited about the crumlin viaduct hotel bottle. She wishes that she found it herself as both my parents are from crumlin

    • @LetsgowithTheJohnsons

We were thrilled by the find, even though it was broken, and it's great to hear that your mam enjoyed the find too... As a child I used to catch the bus to Crumlin and then walk past the Mining School to Newbridge to visit my grandparents. And of course, Max Boyce sang about giving his Debenture to a girl from Crumlin. But it's also where we found one of our most exciting finds in Wales, when we visited the old canal area. ua-cam.com/video/-YlqVJOB65Y/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Let%27sgowithTheJohnsons%21 🤠🙂🐼
