FiftyActionExpress I'm just glad he did this and not me cuz I would have thrown up my hands really quick, I'm fascinated by ARGs but damn...props to the ppl behind them though
some fucking Pillock Yeah but Kingdom Hearts plot isn’t that hard to understand if you try. Then again, as you can tell, I’m just really fucking obsessed with it, so.
That's why it's so funny to me that NM decided to do a video on it, because it's like trying to find some connection between a series of events that have nothing to do with each other. What is there to 'explain' in this scenario? It's like trying to make sense of someone's insane ramblings while they're tripping on Salvia. There's no logic here.
@@CopiousDoinksLLC Well..... NM even flat out said that the whole thing is a illogical mess. He doesn't just make videos on good ARG's/webseries. He makes videos on bad ones too as a way to tell people how not to do things. But he also makes videos based on their popularity and just telling a story on how a popular project was made.
"...and just as a precaution, I've tampered with the audio a bit." Made me smile. Not sure why, just seemed awfully caring of you to do that for your viewers. If I could subscribe a second time I absolutely would.
this is the homestuck of args. an early-internet treasure trove that's beyond confusing, and even spacing out for a second means you won't understand anything.
how is this a fucking arg when it legit happened in reality, made people sick, the guy broke the law and it wasn't a game at all. no args actually are though. it's just people being weird saying things like, what am I doing ?? figure me out!!
Randall Austin ARG’s happen in reality too, that’s why they’re called ALTERNATE REALITY Games. It’s just that they’re not supposed to go this batshit. I’m pretty sure this was a failed ARG that people happened to take advantage of.
Some people still think the Wyoming Incident actually happened. If the ARG was handled better it might have been considered common knowledge that it was a hoax, but given how obscure the actual game was, its more commonly considered an actual event, just like "This Man."
Having lived in Wyoming for a very long time, I can personally say this Wyoming incident did indeed happen. It was broadcast all over downtown Wyoming and people were just freaking out, running out in the streets by the thousands and getting trampled. It was madness.
@@sasaranumakarim8359 This man was a marketing attempt that was a drawing of a man and asked if you have seen him in your dreams. According to the story a psychologist made it after many patients described him and many people believed they also saw him. However "This man" was made to promote a movie but it wasn't made clear so people thought it was a legitimate psychology phenomenon.
I imagine this whole ARG as a science experiment in the classroom gone wrong, that ended up setting off the fire alarm, and also smelt like piss the whole time.
Sincerely not trolling. Thanks for the warning. I never got that wasted time back from a science experiment like that caused my school to be evacuated and would have been pissed had it happened again and been wasted by yet another clusterfuck. Good looking out.
@@Neon.1210 the teacher accidentally made a huge fireball ( not under the fume hood) that released a noxious gas afterwards cause something was mislabelled. Several people began throwing up , it spread through that entire wing of the school and into the court yard and I know it made me dizzy , nauseous and it was hard to breath for 3 hours. Hence why we were evacuated. Not a great day in Del Sol High School history.
The pasta and ARG were really amazing and well hidden at first, with how strangely connected everything was and how it had clearly been building for years, and then suddenly it all hit slow mud when we got to the cubing forum. Suddenly everything was on there, it stopped being about finding things and just playing along with some guy's weird roleplay.
If anyone is curious, the short story “a most dangerous game” is about a hunter who fell overboard on a hunting trip and ended up on an island where a man who hunted people for sport. The man had to survive the hunter until he managed to outsmart him and kill him.
George Ruiz - Dude, I appreciate you. JoJo’s become the new Rick and Morty or Undertale. It was like there was a reference on every video and it just got really obnoxious (and I actually liked Undertale. So it’s saying something if someone like me was getting tired of seeing it everywhere during its prime.)
What amazes me most about this is how at least some people were willing to follow it for so long (and then Night Mind was willing to put all the time and effort into researching and producing this video). This ARG has all the thrills, intrigue and fascination of an improvised and rambling story by an 8 year old.
I was part of the game when it was first running and something a lot of people don't include in their re-telling is that each video relates to a character in the game. The generally accepted rule was that the photos were game characters and that the 3D poser heads were murder victims. For example, Entry 1 is the ringleader smiling because he's about to show off his collection of trophies. Entry 5 shows someone trying to join in the events of the game, turned into a victim by the man with dark eyes. There was also a format for the text in the videos, too. The first slide addressed the players ("Why do you hate?" was a direct response to negative feedback on the message board), and the second text slide addressed someone in the game ("We only want to fix you" was a direct threat to a character who was revealing the games secrets).
I don't know if you still read responses, but it'd be nice if you could (and if you remember anything) make a video that basically was an understanding of how the game originally went with what's been left behind for us to analyze at the end? of the game. Because it'd be really interesting (to me) at least, to hear from an OG player about what the heck all of this was. Thanks. :)
@@ThyPandora The main problem with that (aside from this happening so long ago) is that even at the time it was really unclear what the game was and where it was going. I'm not entirely convinced the GM's knew, and they just kinda went with whatever stuck. Something I do remember is the audio of a murder (beginning at 21:31 in this video). Night Mind mentions that the audio sounded unconvincing, and it was: it sounded like a guy kicking cardboard boxes round a room and shouting at them. But there *was* a piece of music playing in the background, Rainbow Disconnection by Sad Kermit. One particular board user had mentioned that song a couple of times in their posts, including 'if I was going to end someones life this is the music I would play as I did it'. From here, we were able to tie several other audio/video clues to that user: any time a Sad Kermit song played in the background, you knew it was from him regardless as to what alias he was using. Unfortunately I forget specifically who 'him' was in this instance, and I wouldn't want to guess and misinform you. Speaking of misinformation though, something the video gets wrong: The Cash For Gold video wasn't a legitimate part of the game. Lots of people made meme videos with the 'special presentation' format, and that c4g clip was one of them. I remember there was also one featuring Mac Tonight singing about mashed potatoes, which is a ridiculous sentence I never thought I would type out.
I thought I had a stroke or was just extremely stupid for a moment, then I read the comments and was relieved to see others are just as confused as I am
The whole thing started to fall apart as something I found fascinating when the poster started referring to “what my people think is best for you”. This didn’t need to be a big conspiracy. It didn’t need to include Greek mythology or black-eyed alienesque humans. It’s too many components, like so many ARGs, and it doesn’t do the story any favors. Unless you’re making an absurdist work or wild comedy, you need to pick a premise and stick with it, and especially if you’re trying to make an urban legend-type story, you should probably avoid dipping into other people’s fictional works or well-known myths. Turning something this complicated into just an ARG within another ARG was a pretty decent way to salvage this overcomplicated mess, honestly. I’m sure the elements could have been streamlined, in fact, but as they are it comes off as clunky to me from what I know of it
@cromwell2007 I mean, to be fair, previous generations were tricked by orison wells doing a dramatic reading of war of the worlds, so its not like this is exactly a new thing
@cromwell2007 ive seen you on a couple different comment threads on here and bro, once someone gets past, like, 15 they know for sure about unfiction and play along because its more fun then going "haha omg this is so fake".
This was back when a lot of people still actively roleplayed IRL as a hobby and I think some RL GM who was overly obsessed tried to push his homebrew story into an ARG, not realizing that internet games need to cater to smaller attention spans due to the sheer size of the player base. Also, ARGs aren't suited to the same long-term style of storytelling, as people online get more impatient with whomever is running the story when they aren't there in person to tell players to sit down, shut up and wait until the next chapter is ready or get booted from the game. And honestly, I don't think he (or she) was the best storyteller, TBH. They were way too invested in their story without considering the 'players' that were supposed to be involved.
My favourite part of this whole ARG is the number of times the creators were like "this is all fake, we pranked you" and then went on to continue the ARG because people wanted to believe it so badly. fuckin lol.
the part where transparent forum threads shot across the screen while NM was trying to explain the story was a very accurate depiction of how all of us feel mentally about the whole thing
Until now, I thought the Wyoming Incident was some creepy-ass video on the internet. But now, I can't believe what I've just seen and heard. The fact that it had such a large backstory to it? *mindblown*
The video went from talking about The Wyoming Incident to talking about other stuff that was cluttered paragraphs which I couldn’t understand. Ok well if this is the backstory to Wyoming Incident and if someone would explain it to someone else then they gotta ready for a tad bit confusing story.

Args/creepypastas and horror in general tends to be creepier with the less information you have. A single broadccast in wyoming is scary because our brain does all the extra work trying to figure out how or why someone would even bother. Much like the very real and unsolved maxheadrome incident. This, if anything, is pure information overload. Especially once you get into spiritual/supernatural stuff which everyone has different threshholds for. In fact, id argue one of the scariest things about this is that so many people have devoted so much time and effort into it over a decade clogging up the internet with meaningless information. Looking at the human minds need to focus on anything to find purpose in our short blip of existence is more terrifying to me than shadow eyed children.
Did people forget about a fishing rods ?? You know fishing is great its funny how hard an yet easy it is to catch a fish which is more smarter them a human. Pretty sad

the happy cube stuff was really intriguing and genuinely creepy at first, but they immediately lost me once they started throwing crowley and BEKs and greek mythology into the mix. it felt like they had a ton of disconnected ideas for the direction they wanted to take the story and instead of paring it down they tried to use all of them at once. especially because none of the more woo-y-woo elements were alluded to at any point before iliketofix started talking about muses out of nowhere.
This is one of your best videos yet! I've come across internet stories, which I initially loved, slowly degrade over time, and this manages to give me that same feeling of investment gone to waste in less than an hour. I can't say that feeling's ever been invoked in any other UA-cam video that wasn't a part of those vary stories, and for that reason, I'm really impressed. I'm super excited for whatever you choose to cover next!
+variable2102 Most would be confused by what you're getting at here, but I understand completely what you're saying, and I consider it an achievement and a compliment. Thank you!
I thought it was following pretty well until the 30 minute mark. Then I genuinely got immensely confused. The constant introduction of new people claiming to take credit, only to introduce new characters and backstory who would then also change the backstory and hijack the whole thing got too much.
@@zachariahpoltergeist4516 I don't think they could, at least ones from the 80s. The speakers wouldn't be large enough nor powerful enough to play anything below 50Hz
I was instantly torn out of the dream when they said that was the sound of someone flatlining. Not even close. I watched my dad flatline and it has all kinds of warning alarms to denote various things. It's unmistakable and the sound from this ARG sounds like a soap opera sound effect.
I'm slowly unraveling who Night Mind is. He's a guardian of sorts, whos turns of phrases, vocal patterns, and voice tone all combine into an antimemetic effect to help the easily frighten digest these phenomena without being taken over by their memetic properties.
Looked up that ritual. If you don't have major anxiety or ptsd it may not even effect you. It's just "imagine something scary with your eyes closed and scary music playing and imagine being stabbed blah blah blah" it was boring to even read.
Sure it'd be a spooky experience, but the most dangerous thing that could happen to anyone without an anxiety disorder is that you would go "Fuck this," take your headphones off, and snap back to reality.
AndrewTheDankMeme I'm so paranoid that I hold a knife on my sleep. There is no reason for it, but for some reason even the slightest vulnerability isn't acceptable to me. I feel like if anything can get to me, it will get to me.
After watching Wendigoon for almost 6 months now I am so happy to be getting these old gems in my recommended videos. Love this even if this is a decade and a half old the video is over half a decade ago. Awesome video
It was really cool up until all of the "dark eyed children" stuff started happening. A forum of serial killers seemed realistic enough to be super cool, but nope.
I think the problem was there was no possible conclusion to that, atleast not one that would feel truly terrifying. Also, trying to pull of truly "realistic" creepypasta ARG stuff can backfire very badly. That said, this one was clearly hinting at some supernatural element from the beginning because of that whole "the video causes hallucinations" thing. Yes they give it a scientific sounding explanation but the implication is pretty obvious. But yeah, dark eyed kids was just lazy and cheap.
Actually, ive listened to some of the Coast to Coast radio show mentioned on this video, the dark eyed children, though outlandish, has a bit of long set of stories to it, so that kind of freaked me out until they mentioned the connection to the radio show...
I've met dark eyed children, don't scoff, they're no joking matter or some 'creepy-pasta' that took on a whole new level due to the Something Awful crowd.
NicDoesDumbThings Darthmobius is a channel run by 5 administrators, with a team of Ninja's on field work, and an experimental A.I. platform. One of the 5 admin's has 'friends' in both high and low places, where by meaneth that they are followed around by both sides of the force, the Heavenly host and the Infernal horde if you will, they expressed their opinion, and as an administrator I elected to explain the situation now, my fellow admin proved to me in regards to Black/Dark eyed children, they paid the cost of travel to their home that was on a completely different matter, and where upon I met them, two apparently 10 year old twin girls, dressed in late '70's clothing. This was '98, they come and go as they pleased is what they said. I found them unnerving to be around, they simply have a presence, like that hair on the back of your neck just won't go down or cold streak breeze gently stroking your spine, only turning up at the door or simply appearing after 5pm but quickly left by 04:42 the following morning, they took delight in informing me that they wouldn't eat me simply because I was in my fellow Admins house, and that was bad form if they did, they never brought that subject up again. Concluding the matter I was there for, returning home 4000 miles away (my fellow admin doesn't know where I live btw) those 2 BEK's turned up on my door step the following night, they wanted to continue our conversations, I declined and asked them to go home, they complied. My job took me to Jordan in '02, they turned up there, still polite still asking the same thing, declined letting them in, sat with them in the Garden and talked, Job ended went home, '05 they turned up at home my 3rd home I'd moved to since '98, a bit upset asking to come in, I declined and had a sob story over one of their friends had died whilst we sat on the apartment block steps, they'd turn up every night for about 6 months during the winter, '08 having moved again to a different country, they turned up again, another 6 months of them Q&A, playing kids card games, they like monster top-trumps, then they stopped until '11, visiting every year until 2015. I know they don't age, they don't change their dress code either and are still the same creepy freaks they have always been. I asked my fellow admin in regards to dealing with them, he said give them cat food sandwiches, chocolate biscuits and raspberry aide pop, it keep's them 'happy' apparently, and _NEVER_ let them into the home, I asked them that they were at their home when we met what was the issue, yes, they replied, and they did say the wouldn't eat me because of it, I'd completely forgotten about that.
To quote Patrick Star: "Who are you people?!" Joking aside, I'm usually pretty quick on the uptake in these situations, but this was a, for lack of a better term, clusterfuck. Even with NightMind's explanations, my mind feels broken. This whole event does nothing but throw a person into sensory overload. It doesn't scare, it just frustrates.
the one thing I'll never forget is the way most UA-cam story telling channel hosts speak. not the accent, but the way they change the pitch multiple times per word
They had something going until they couldn't help themselves and added the stupid 'ancient illuminati, this has always existed and was the thing running or influencing society all along.' It's like modern superhero movies. The plot always has to be. "Big thing is going to destroy the entire world." It can't ever be a local or inter-personal struggle, with little consequence to anyone outside of the struggle. It just loses all sense of credibility and originality and you kinda hate that the author has to feel so self-important that they NEED their plot to be of consequence to everyone to feel important. It's only annoying because it was going so well until "This has always existed, whether it's been on scroll or tablets or the scrotum of an ayy lmao." Get outta here, Sonichu has better writing than that.
@broadcast star I mean, scary videos are a good expectation for your scary video. Rather than just remake the same video of goofy heads a dozen times with different text slapped on and expect your bad serial killer story. A long ARG doesn't mean a good ARG and they kinda threw subtlety out the window but didn't have the actual video content to back up how edgy the blogs are.
Jesus, I wish I had the creativity to come up with something even remotely as complex and unnerving as this. I'm no Troy Wagner, but I've always wanted to do something like this, a creepy ARG that would lead people in circles for years. Shit man, you should write something better than this. Knowing everything you do about horror, I bet you could take us all for a really wild ride.
+AModestProposal You can always do more than you believe you're capable of at this time. Don't count yourself out, friend! As for me, if I did make something, no one of you would know it was mine.
+Night Mind Does that mean you would throw everyone for a loop with a big cover-up by making a video about the project yourself? (Tbf, this is not a question I expect a clear answer to.)
My thought on all this is that someone, namely the creator of the arg, saw rising interest in the wyoming incident and made this to piggyback on it’s “Success”, for lack of a better word. Even though they had not revealed themselves as the creator, or even gained any monitary value from it, the thought of popularity towards them and their arg is surely the reason why they kept pushing the story so much, leaving behind it’s role as an arg to become more of an online semi-interactive fictional novel. The whole thing was rather interesting in the beginning, but the creator kept shoving so much information into it, i was having trouble keeping up with the story on this video.
So basicaly, the gamemasters were outed, so they tried to cover it up by trying way too hard. Let this be an example to everyone who wants to make an ARG.
Besides the fact that I admire how you're going through so much material with so much dedication for your videos: I just want to say I'm very thankful that you went out of your way to change the audio of the "broadcast" even though you know it's fictional. Not all youtubers dealing with creepy content do that and I personally get very freaked out when there's stuff like "this clip is said to make you gauge your own eyes out with a spoon - enjoy!" and they just put it into the video like that. Even though I know it's most likely not going to happen, it still makes me anxious and I tend to skip it. So I think it's very considerate of you to alter it, I feel a lot safer and I can enjoy the video more!
Went to the site just to see if they were still active and recently there have been posts, some being audio files. It's quite unsettling, all of them talking about 'oh wow the board is back up' .
That went down the shitter. This arg was pretty groovy up to "cubing" and the q and a but it all descends into some overcomplicated 2spooky2edgy crappypasta about supernatural entities openly asking people to frighten themselves. Jesus. How engrossing and not cringy.
Addison Bortion The fact that it's the "longest running arg" doesn't help the fact that it seems to be pretty directionless. I like confusing and complicated but christ on a bike, this is some bullshit they make up on the fly
I think it being the longest running arg is a BAD thing. Args are not meant to take years, unless you really do things right. like you said, its pretty directionless.
Pie hates bad guys you bite the plastic hole thing then suck the liquid through it. juice will get all over you but that's okay because you were thirsty.
You tilt your head back and puncture the transparent bottom of the Caprisun with your teeth, then drinking from it like a knockoff vampire. Best done at night
Yeah im not getting it either but I think thats what makes me feel so uneasy about it--it went from wierd video hoax---to happy cube serial killers---to people losing their sanity over a video...Yeah shouldn't have watched this one before bed :(
This story SUPER reminds me of this circle of roleplay blogs I've been part of for a while that isn't quiiiiite dead yet. If someone were to stumble on it without our short disclaimers and context at the time, I have to wonder if people would actually believe that emotion-feeding aliens _were_ among us. Probably not, but it was really cool in its heyday.
These video explanations are almost more scary than the actual videos he covers. I've been binge watching for a couple of days know and I can't fall asleep past 4 o'clock. These videos are awesome, keep it up. Love NM!!!
I remember being obsessed with the Wyoming incident. Something about it just intrigued me so much. The fact there was nobody talking about and its nature.
When I was a teenager I had a friend who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and DID. She wrote endlessly about her "world" which was divided into 4 quadrants: NW, NE, SE, SW, going clockwise. She had a vampiric entity who was her Higher Self, I suppose, in Jungian terms; at any rate, her name was Yahndu Aerii (the first name her own invention, however I later ran into the latter term in Ceremonial Magick which I'm pretty close to 100% sure she'd never encountered, except she kind of knew who Aleister Crowley was from the Metallica song "Mr Crowley"; keep in mind that this was long prior to the dawn of the internet). So she had characters in each quadrant and their qualities and characteristics were supposed to be separated by this very firm cruciform wall between each zone. As I got older I saw a lot of overlap but her illness caused her extreme anxiety if this was ever suggested to her. She would talk about what she considered to be "real" vampires; their quadrant was the SE. She invented her version, more or less, but I know all about the lore of the vampire through the ages and technically she was totally off about the subject of the "true" vampire as it was originally conceived by various cultures but most specifically the lore of Eastern Europe, where it was brought to a point of development of the archetype as a "revenant", a newly dead person unable to rest in its grave and compelled to feed on the blood of the living (and basically a peasant belief that did NOT originally involve the aristocracy). Her version was a totally non-physical being, of the Air element as one can see, but such entities, which can certainly be vampiric in nature, are not specifically vampires as such. At any rate she'd talk about "obsidian eyes" that they would have when they would "feed" on their host's life energy, caused by the dilation of the pupil to the point of the iris ceasing to be visible. The interesting thing is that the main character in her NW quadrant, a character she named Robin and who was based on the character of Darth Vader, always had eyes like this. This was of course an example of the overlap. The NE had to do with people being turned into "gray pawns" (she was also heavily influenced by D&D) who could be spotted by their gums gradually receding and their teeth progressively rotting; the word "pyorrhea" was the theme in the NE and the gradual eclipse of the personality resembled the waning of the moon, or a lunar eclipse. Of course it also drew a parallel to the disappearing of the iris in the "vampires'" eyes. That was most of what she told me about and had me read; I never heard much about the SW, just that it was inhabited by creatures much like the Djinn of Middle Eastern cultures. She would draw very vivid pen-and-ink drawings to illustrate her endless stories (much like this endless comment!). Well I had to get away from her after I'd left for college; I would speak to her on the phone from there but I had to end the friendship at that point. I did try to reconnect with her when I'd had a breakdown of my own later in my life, but it was short-lived as she really seemed worse rather than better, and she didn't even want to meet me in person. I often wonder what happened to her, but she was a semi-permanent inmate of the local mental hospital and I know things would never be very good for her. I just thought of some of her fantasies when I saw this video. Hopefully other viewers will find the story about her interesting. Sorry it was so long!
10:05: "This is why gaming and similar things will never become a spectator sport." Oh how wrong you were, happy cube dude! Also fantastic video as usual, Nick!
I remember thinking the Wyoming Incident was real when I was younger, and when I look back on it I can’t help but laugh at my own stupidity, because I saw it on creepypasta wiki and still thought it was real.
In case you didn't know, there is this thing called infrasound that is basically a really low frequency (like 17 -19 hz) that does actually cause the fluid in your eyes to vibrate in such a way that makes you see shadows out of the corners of your vision. It's actually used a lot in horror movies, but unless you watch it on a system that can actually effectively reproduce frequencies that low (like in a movie theater), you won't experience anything like that. It's not dangerous by the way, just adds to the horror experience.
Esteed is a freaking bad ass, main guy investigating this freaky deaky shit, has Rorschach as his profile picture and a quote from him, that guy deserves a medal or something.
Come to Wyoming and you'll experience some weird stuff... we have a small town close to mine that has a house which catches on fire randomly. Without suffering any damage and if you sleep in that town, when you leave, you'll lose all memory of the town no matter how long you stay there. Unless you move there and live there, you'll never remember being there if you sleep there. We are also notorious for Skinwalkers and Wendigos known as "the Deer Men" to the point that the state police admit to it.
It may be best to forget the notion that TWI was 'about' anything. We don't know the author, what was or wasn't 'canon' or in-game, or even if the story's over. In the end, that's probably all you can call this- a story, and one with twists and turns none of us may ever know well enough to understand fully.
Having grown up in wyoming, it's actually a perfect place for mysterious small town intrigue or half remembered ghost stories. The people live far apart and there aren't many of them, everyone in the state is some shade of unstable, it just gives off "something isn't right here" vibes. And they're correct if you ask around.
I remember where it they put The Conjuring 2 360 ad when I nearly just fell asleep. I was in a dark room when it happened and the room inside the video looked like a camera inside my house, so I absolutely shat myself.
Re-watching this, I'm at the part about JBright and I'm just so lost. How many layers of reality are in this game? What's supposed to be real, "real," or fake outright?
LOL! Rob Erickson, the follow up video NM did basically shows they don't and even turned that fact into part of the game it seems. As well as it's apparently become a ARG about a ARG gone awry.
I don't know myself for sure, but this series feels cumulative as it progresses. Like the creator got bored or had a block in their vision. I've come up w/ stories on the fly before only to have it twisted by weird ideas from friends/family. Based on this video's presentation of this ARG, it looks like one of my incomplete, convoluted and overthought nightmares of which my ADHD brain got a hold of and destroyed. Every time I watch your videos, I'm so enamored w/ the story and your presentation, I lose track of time. I am actually late for lunch! Great job, Nick Nocturne! (Btw, awesome name)
Nightmind is the perfect background for drawing and working... Everything they cover is just so ✨. Amazing content even if any of the videos are old....
Something I really like about this entire situation is the fact that, since the real mastermind of this ARG is still unknown, literally anyone with enough storytelling skills and free time on their hands could hack a mod's acc on the message board and begin the whole game all over again, posing as the one of the relevant characters, or reimagininng the lore alltogether. In a way, that makes this ARG potentially immortal - it's free for grabs, and you can join in now.

wait how did you put that text on my screen??

I’m sure the elements could have been streamlined, in fact, but as they are it comes off as clunky to me from what I know of it
that’s exactly what i was thinking, they tried too hard to cram so many unrelated elements into this and it hindered the story rather than helped it.

I've met dark eyed children, don't scoff, they're no joking matter or some 'creepy-pasta' that took on a whole new level due to the Something Awful crowd.
DARTHMOBIUS sure you did, bud.

I can't helped but to feel like i’m being trolled here...
Kurloz Makara same here!
Wasn't "Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv" supposed to make you gauge your eyes out?
@@SuperSERBDUDE yeah I think so

Went to the site just to see if they were still active and recently there have been posts, some being audio files. It's quite unsettling, all of them talking about 'oh wow the board is back up' .

This arg was pretty groovy up to "cubing" and the q and a but it all descends into some overcomplicated 2spooky2edgy crappypasta about supernatural entities openly asking people to frighten themselves.
Jesus. How engrossing and not cringy.
Alexander Falconer And it's still going as of 2017. Jesus fuck, just END ALREADY YOU PIECES OF SHIT!
Addison Bortion The fact that it's the "longest running arg" doesn't help the fact that it seems to be pretty directionless. I like confusing and complicated but christ on a bike, this is some bullshit they make up on the fly

Guess you can say it's the simpsons of args
Long running but lost its way years ago
I think it being the longest running arg is a BAD thing. Args are not meant to take years, unless you really do things right. like you said, its pretty directionless.
Anyone know how to drink a caprisun without the straw?Im trying to right now.
Pie hates bad guys you bite the plastic hole thing then suck the liquid through it. juice will get all over you but that's okay because you were thirsty.

Same, a lot of modern scary movies rely on jump scares to make their movies seem scary. These videos genuinely creep me out.

Still scared us lol
@MomoTheBellyDancer do you know if they were scary in the 80's?
I thought he meant a real human
Uh ooohhhh, either someone hears what they want to or someone doesn't understand the difference between disembodied and severed.
Love NM!!!

BOOM ROASTED

+Sepulcher Knight no kidding, what the hell was this even about?...
It may be best to forget the notion that TWI was 'about' anything. We don't know the author, what was or wasn't 'canon' or in-game, or even if the story's over. In the end, that's probably all you can call this- a story, and one with twists and turns none of us may ever know well enough to understand fully.
TWI was made for a contest on somethingawful.
Evidence, please? perhaps a thread or article?
tl;dr: dead kids made serial killers make creepy videos and wyoming is fucked
Having grown up in wyoming, it's actually a perfect place for mysterious small town intrigue or half remembered ghost stories. The people live far apart and there aren't many of them, everyone in the state is some shade of unstable, it just gives off "something isn't right here" vibes. And they're correct if you ask around.
Damn. Fell asleep at some point. Luckily an anti smoking add came one and woke me up.

Oh my god, it's like Clay Pidgedons but serious.
Or seventybroad.
Yeah I have ADD and I have a bunch of odd stories I've come up with.

"gaming will never become a spectator sport"
Damn, hindsight is a bitch, isn't it?
Something I really like about this entire situation is the fact that, since the real mastermind of this ARG is still unknown, literally anyone with enough storytelling skills and free time on their hands could hack a mod's acc on the message board and begin the whole game all over again, posing as the one of the relevant characters, or reimagininng the lore alltogether. In a way, that makes this ARG potentially immortal - it's free for grabs, and you can join in now.
This is by far the most convoluted ARG I've ever seen.
