  • This is the 2nd part to a series I'm working on about propeller modification I am decreasing the size of our proboat propeller hopefully reduce torque roll & increase top speed. The 1st part we detoned the propeller and lost speed so hopefully decreasing the size of the propeller will help our top end.. next video I'm planning on cupping the blades to hold the water better thru out the spin should be pretty interesting outcome.
Hope you guys enjoy the video, hope you learn something in this series about propeller modifications as we journey into the black art of pateller mods.
Thank you guys for watching iron clad RC channel while we tinkered test in test into everything. Please consider subscribing, like, comment, share. We'll see you next time

Interesting smoke generator 😉🤣 A propeller dyno would be nice ... Some small aquarium closed from the top, a strut mounted to a strain gauge beam or some tilt force sensor, motor and ESC with data logging (current, voltage drop, temperature). I think castle has an esc on offer for speedruners. You would have some point of reference without leaving the workshop 🤔

Nice video. My other tip is to "polish balance" the prop not file balance. A high effecient prop with a glass polished prop, and a fast prop is a slippery prop. When you can see you face reflected off the prop you have it polished well. 😊

Thank you sir, Wish I had the time to polish one up like that. It took a week to get that prop where it's at now. Haha. Hope you didn't mind me using your phrase "black art" you kinda hit the nail on the head with that one. Thanks for watching.

@@IRONCLADRC Hey, no problem. I enjoyed the video and all your work in making them. It's not hard to polish, do it with a Dremel and polish wheel. If you do it evenly you can keep the balance close. It's the ultimate way to balance to perfection.
I like the smoke idea. Get a small fan and put in front of the prop to keep it spinning and all you have to do is get the smoke going. Even an insence stick would work. 😊

Stainless or brass would actually be better than plastic on the flex cable, you can sharpen the blades of a brass prop so less drag & load on the driveline

Silver solder 56% and white flux is what you need. im in the process of learning how to do .187 cables. The tricky part is getting it brazed without any wobble in it😎😎
