- Here's the second part of my March 2021 flight to McMinnville, starting west of Ellensburg, WA and running to the Yakima Reservation. This flight has both nosecam and instrument cam views, as well as cockpit narration and radio chatter. I'll release additional parts of this flight throughout the summer.
Note: This is the 1080 HD version of this video. An ad-free 4K UHD version without the animated subscribe button is available to MEMBERS at the Access Premium Content level. That's my thanks for their financial support to this channel.

About Me and the Helicopter
• I have been flying for about 20 years. My nearly 4,000 hours of flight time is in Robinson R44, Robinson R22, and Bell 206L (Long Ranger) helicopters.
• The helicopter is a 2005 Robinson R44 Raven II -- the same one that appears at the beginning of the video. You can learn more about them here: robinsonheli.c... I own this helicopter. It is the third helicopter I've owned since 2000.
• My helicopter has ADS-B Out and is picked up by radar facilities. You can see my track for recent flights on Flightradar24: www.flightrada... This is a great site for tracking any almost any flight, including the airlines.
About the Video
• The video was recorded with a pair of GoPro Hero 7 cameras (amzn.to/2Lxyzwl) and a GoPro Hero 8 camera (amzn.to/2PBlZ4o). One camera is connected to the helicopter's intercom system with an NFlightCam audio cable (amzn.to/31syLTm). All cameras record audio, but I dialed down the helicopter sound by 10 decibels from normal volume so it wouldn't be annoying.
• The "cockpit cam" front-facing camera was mounted with my current Instrument Cam set up, which you can learn about in this Behind-the-Scenes video: • Behind the Scenes: Coc... . It's based upon a MyPilotPro Helicopter Mount (mypilotpro.com...) modified to get the height I need. The rear facing camera was mounted on the cockpit bubble with a MyPilotPro Spider Swivel GoPro Windshield Mount (www.mypilotpro.... The "nosecam" has a proprietary mount.
• The video was edited on a iMac using Davinci Resolve 16 software. Learn more about it here: www.blackmagic...
• The intro music is by Bob Levitus, famed "Dr. Mac." You can find him here: www.boblevitus....
I TRY (really!) to drop cockpit POV videos on Sunday mornings and "extras" with more info about owning and operating a helicopter midweek. (Some channel members get early access to some of these videos.) I also host occasional livestreams with Q&A chats. SUBSCRIBE and turn on the notification bell so you don't miss anything new! And tell your friends. I'm trying hard to deliver good videos and grow my subscriber base.
Some links on my channel are affiliate links, including all links to Amazon (amzn.to/32PLHTD) and MyPilotPro (mypilotpro.com.... If you click one of them and buy something, I get a small referral reward. It doesn't cost you anything so I hope you'll shop with one of those links. Thanks.
when it get's boring, that's when you put on some tunes and take a toke of the old bong!
NICE ride along this morning, Looks like the best type flying, .......... probably long past but when you get to L.A. next time ? run over to Catalina Airport in the Sky for a Buffalo burger,...the view is awesome .......... Thank You again.... Fly Safe.
I bet some of the mountainscapes seem just apt to be picnicking spots. Maria, would you care to touchdown please ; the view is invitingly breathtaking as far as my eyes can go and I just wanna soak in to nirvana for a wee while if you let me please. Wish you have smooth skies always .
Definitely some beautiful scenery 😁
Thanks for another nice flight over central Washington.
Thanks for video...
Thank you for this great video! @Maria Cheers-
Wow , what an awesome video 👍🏻 thank you
Yakima Army Training Center is located there as well
Beautiful!🚁🎉
Really appreciate you doing these videos, great video and love the view of the mountains, can’t wait for the next one 👍🏻
Have you ever thought about sitting down on one of those mountain tops and relaxing/eating lunch?
I used to do things like that once in a while when I flew in Arizona.
Woohoo!!
At 19:25 what mt.peek is that at 1oclock...beautiful...
great scenery ! speaking of chasing things, I have seen videos of pilots with a passenger either taking photos or video of desert racing, low and fast. have you done that when you lived in Arizona ?
Yes, that was my favorite rush. Usually about 100 feet off the ground at 60 to 100 knots. I did the Parker 425 a few years in a row.
@@FlyingMAir that is so cool !
Wow... beautiful flight as always Maria! Question: We see all those desolate mountaintops, that look like nobody has ever set foot there. Are you ever tempted to land, and get out... just to say you have been there? Seems like I'd be tempted! *chuckle* Thanks again!
Every time I'm out that way, I'm on my way to or from someplace else I need to get to. No time to dawdle. But when I lived in AZ and flew more often, I made a lot of stops out in the desert to explore.
Love your videos. But watching the video sure makes me glad I don’t live in the northwest.
Im curious what you did with your R22 and how long you owned it and was it your first helicopter?
I owned my 1999 R22 Beta II from October 2000 to October 2004 when I sold it. It was my first helicopter. My first R44 arrived from the factory in January 2005.
