35:02 opponent spends multiple turns setting up this pin. NL sees it and defends, but immediately forgets and undefends. Opponent also forgets he just spent multiple turns setting up the pin
When someone blitzes out the opening the best way to counter it is to try to move even faster than them. Speed is the key. That way you get the best position.
It's incredible how long it takes for two 1400s players to notice that the piece that they have been attacking/defending for the past 5 moves is now hanging. And they both realized it at the exact same moment lmao.
NL - I AM a financial advisor, and I would like to say your not financial advise was spot on. Anyone trying to sell you anything differently than rigorous, consistent investing is usually trying to get a fee out of you.
I’m not very good at chess. Could someone explain to me why at 16:57 he chose to take the bishop with his knight instead of capturing the pawn at c6 to fork the rook and queen?
6:38 opponent blunders their queen and egg starts going on a rant instead of taking it... my ass has never been so clenched
HAHAHA I was searching through the comments because I felt the exact same
@@coleirwin1713 same here my heart rate went ^^^ lmao
He was reading chat for move suggestions lol
someone is not pegged enough...
He totally did that on purpose I’m convinced

the checkmate in the first game was truly hilarious
You haven't seen the one at the end lmao
Particularly the "there's gonna be some serious technique involved", and just marches directly into checkmate
He was playing that endgame well too I was proud of him then the opponent after they got the mate
that was a novelty for me lmao
@@bendeguire6965 yeah absolutely agree, everything went so well until the end :'(
Probably the best ending to an NL video ever.
Almost looked like he edits videos for a moment.
He definitely chooses the end time when highlighting on twitch
it actually takes incredible talent and skill to get checkmated in a completely drawn opposite colored bishop endgame. Well done NL!
6:32 "This person is just better than me, I realize that now"
\*the person in question instantly blunders a queen\*
Yeah and he's better 😅
Love how NL is so focused on just trading pieces that he doesn't want anything to do with the great fork at 16:57.
takes a full 30 seconds for a free queen at 6:36 because he's ranting about finance, love this man
the endcard appearing as the queen and rook threatened mate was perfect
damn two chess a day what must we have done for such a blessing
The blood sacrifices have finally born fruit, and only two hundred souls, what a bargain!
That soul read was disgusting, especially considering NL hung a rook in the same move
The perfect ending doesn't exi-
The mate in the first game had me rolling lmaao
27:50 this is a classic opening trap in the Ruy Mr Egg. You can’t trade the bishop off and then immediately take the center pawn
When someone blitzes out the opening the best way to counter it is to try to move even faster than them. Speed is the key. That way you get the best position.
The pogs are overflowing with chess upload times that seem to be tailored to my preferences. I just wish that NL played 10 minute instead of 3.
Oh. My. God. The ending
absolutely despicable :D
It's incredible how long it takes for two 1400s players to notice that the piece that they have been attacking/defending for the past 5 moves is now hanging. And they both realized it at the exact same moment lmao.
NL is Living proof that playing the tutorial is worth it. Loving this Let’s Play. Keep it up!
I love it when he makes both attacking and defending moves at the same time
double chess video. a dream come true. thanks NL
Best ending to a chess video ever 😂 And not just in NLs library
30:59 Am I missing something or did Ryan just hang his Rook and get rewarded for it?
the only answer for the sheer volume of blessed chesses is that when a good SAP weekly comes out, the sun also shines on the old 64 squares
5:18 Relatable
"accepts" the Queen's Gambit, gives the pawn back inmediatly
I found a pin at @16:57 If knight goes to c6 instead of e6 then he forks the rook and queen!
36:40 am I wrong or would QD5 instead of D6 trap the knight
Thank you.

31:00 what am I missing about Qxf1?
When your opponents rudely interruptus your rant about interests rates by hanging their queen 😑
I’m not very good at chess. Could someone explain to me why at 16:57 he chose to take the bishop with his knight instead of capturing the pawn at c6 to fork the rook and queen?
Because he's also not very good at chess on occasion 😂
@@jetaimemina Fair enough.
27:47 he was one square away from forking bishop and queen 😭
Yes but black could have just taken the pawn. There was only the white queen defending it
*blunders in the first five moves
'Is this a UA-cam gambit'?
absolutely fantastic ending
Man I love the variety of what you upload. Very Kool. Much love🤘💯
His comedic timing has never been better
4:50 haha story of my life
I wanna see that execution tier list, for the record
Good commentary on your thought process, keep it up
31:40 ish why not just take the pawn instead of stacking up the rooks??
25:58 NL you let the panic win he left his rook completely unguarded by taking yours
Yes, but it was check. He had to move his king and then the opponent moved the rook to safety
yeah dude he put him in check. L2p
Insane chess pogs served on a checkered platter
Three minutes in, and bro checkmated himself
NL Roasting the hippo lmao
That ending cracked me up ngl
At 16:55 knight c6 wins the game right? Am I missing something?
Well, you win the pawn. Black can defend with qb6.
@@Zziwi The knight is forking the queen and the rook, and could trade for the rook, and I think qb6 gets taken by the other knight white has.
@@birds352 Ah, sorry. I meant qb5, forcing the queen trade.
First guy I see actually accept the queen's gambit
Was it raining during recording?
He's so entertaining to watch. He's good and smart enough to tell you exactly why his playing is bad and reacts accordingly.
Hell yeah, finally on lunch break and right on time for pog City
my favorite chess content
Chess content = enjoyment
Omfg that ending 😂
What's wrong with 10min? It still needs focus, I won people on time here.
We need more chess!!!!
Appreciated.
Where's my execution tier list you piece?
The Library of Letourneau: "Northernlion ranks executions and gets progressively depressed"
Yeah I know he says he won't put it on UA-cam in the London upload I believe and that he feels that even doing it on twitch might have been a mistake.
Finally chess
BACK TO BACK 2 DAYS IN A ROW??? You shouldnt have..
Chess!!!
The game at 15 minutes was painful to watch :D
Chess is fun!
Love the chess
Nice video NL, ❤chess
I see NL chess I pog
Comedic timing strikes again
Live feedback is kinda cheating though ?
Reading chat seems like more of a handicap than a cheat so far.
Biggest pog
chesssssssss
i hate 3 min chess
aintnoway
Judging by the comments, chess is popular.
These chess vids are a lot of fun when you have 0 knowledge of chess strategy.
10 min chess was better. This is just a blunder fest with no reviews it sucks
i am so sorry, but this is so painful to watch :D
Chess!!
