Built an A-frame survival shelter, used spruce branches for extra isolation from the cold ground as the temperature dropped -6°/-7° C (21°/19° F) at night. Also it helped to level the ground for better comfort.

It’s almost like while going out into the woods you should have a least some basic gear with you. Maybe not a full ass tent tarp, but a knife and a spare jacket or something at least.

@@Valscorn01 Fr. But even tarp isn’t that crazy. Tarp is an extremely versatile tool that everybody should be carrying in their survivalist rucksack. It’s easy to carry if you know how to fold - it’s much different than a tent, a tent is just extra things to carry that only has one purpose. The military uses tarp when out in the field. I mean if you’d rather sleep on mud and rely on grass to protect you from rain, then you do you ig.

You see that stuff on the ground? White in color? That's called SNOW.
If you go outdoors during a season that's cold enough to SNOW, you'll probably bring more than a bag of cheetos and a spare Xbox controller. Touch grass.

The best thing I have seen in this clip is a bed of pine needles and branches.
I ran away from home as a child in the winter and slept under a big pine tree. The pine needles under the tree was so thick it made the perfect bed and branches around the tree was like the perfect tent. I survived the night,. It was still as a little cool, but there is no place like home. Yeah I went back.
However years later i showed this technique to my Boy Scout troop, and I was proud, thinking I was the one who invented something that primitive men were probably doing for thousands of years.

I’d think you’d want like 3 times that amount of pine boughs for your bed

Yep, more is better. However I just wanted to isolate myself and my gear from the snow, I used also sleeping pad+mat. Without those I would have used a lot more.

It’s weird cause this is something I’ve always dreamed of doing but I’m too afraid I would die out there
Might try it on my channel tho🤔

Imagine how the forests of the whole world would look like, if only a half of the UA-camrs would but in practice these "destroy a lot for a one night stand, repeat it in the coming nights in other places".

Great effort! Great video! May I ask if you have considered a lower lean too facing the fire with a Mylar blanket, (key in cold weather for me) might provide a better resource and use of your energy.
Again great video! Critics should try it doing this themselves or shut their mouth. Just saying...

I haven't tried it but I will someday. Usually I have plenty of time so I'll go for a labor intensive option :D
