That's all fine... But when 2 of the shoes you didn't like were shoes you didn't give actual tries and you said otherwise liked... Then you are just judging the books by their cover without any actual evidence. So it's a poor review. The Hyperion Tempo made the list?!?!?! No no no... It may be my favorite shoe of the year... Sooo easy to get down to 5k pace, even more so maybe than the Endorphin Speed. Seriously, best thing about your channel is you're completely honest... Not all shoes work for everyone. Also, on your over pronation.. Wear shoes that work, the whole "you can't wear neutral" is a bunch of crap. I've been running 22 yrs and can over pronate... 20 of those years I did true stability and had knee pain and never was able to run daily. Last 2 years I went neutral and some stability and can run daily and up to 70mpw. Your biomechanics are unique to you and forcing a correction may not be right if other joints not set for it. The only recommendation I'd have is do some foot strengthening exercises to help but wear the shoes that work for you.
Thank you for this comment. It’s so refreshing to hear someone say all this! Sometimes I feel shamed wearing neutral shoes. But I truly think the stability shoes bother me more than my actual pronation!!

Great video! Thanks. I’ve been disappointed in Brooks for a while now. They used to be my go to, but with all of the new and exciting updates in other brands, I’ve been venturing out. Love the NB Fuelcell Prism. And I LOVE seeing Ruby in your videos.
As soon as I saw the title of this vid, I thought, yes! Finally more details on the shoes that didn't work for you. We need more reviews like this. I wonder if some shoes work less well or better for lighter runners. Most running shoe reviewers are blokes who are naturally heavier ( because they are tall and male) and will experience shoes differently, I'm sure, than lighter runners ( less tall, and generally female or smaller framed male). I recall one of the reviewers on roadtrailrun said that he preferred the Pegasus 37 women's version because it felt softer underfoot. The Pegasus 37 for women is softer under-foot by design to accommodate the lighter frame of women. Rightly so, I think. In fact, it occurred to me, other than the Peg 37, all women's running shoes are only designed to handle the difference in the shape of women's feet, not the lighter female body frame overall. It would be interesting to know the weights of all the other running shoe reviewers and if a runners weight has some influence about how they feel about a shoe. That is not to discount the impact of biomechanics which would also have an impact. Anyway, some food for thought here.
Interesting point for sure. It probably has some to do with this but I think also general foot type, foot strike/stride, and just personal preference have a lot to do with it too!
re: “stability” shoes, when I started running 10 yrs ago, a running shoe store performed the iPad-treadmill video test on my stride and suggested stability shoes. One ankle pronated a little more than the other. I wore those first running shoes for some time while suffering a persistent ache in my hip flexor area on one side before deciding to revise the shoe decision. I think they were ASICS gel Kayanos. I have been fine ever since with scores of neutral shoes only. I’m sure there are people with severe pronation, extremely flat feet and other issues that might make stability shoes appropriate. But for garden-variety pronators, our feet and ankles are designed to pronate. And so many neutral shoes have supportive features. Even a good heel lock-in (such as I find in my adidas Bostons), or a great midfoot lock-in (as I find in the Brooks Hyperion Tempo) provide a level of stability without holding the foot and ankle in a vise that can cause problems farther up the mechanical chain.
Emily, nice to hear the honest thoughts. I think a couple of commenters or replies were hinting they’d take shoes off your hands if they’re practically new. I’ll take those Brooks Hyperion Tempo if they’re a W size 9 and barely worn! I’m one of those who thinks this is the best Brooks shoe of late. I’m very light (100 lbs), petite, efficient with a quick natural cadence and they work great for me. The midsoles seemed to improve as I ran more in them but I agree they’re for people who like responsive midsoles. There’s one very overlooked good Brooks model, the Revel 4. I had v3 both both have gotten stellar reviews but too few reviews. They’re a very versatile shoe, light, fun, bouncy and one of those does-it-all shoes. Most notably, they’re only $100. For that price, more people should know about them, and those who have reviewed and praised them (eg. Believe in the Run and Road, Trail, Run) make this point as well. These are the two Brooks shoes that I think are on the right track. Martha
Run Like Heller Ha ha-I think of myself as a small gal with big feet but you’ve got me beat. I’d love to see more reviews of the Revel 4, so thanks for considering it. I enjoy your reviews a lot!
Agree about stability. I run in shoes that work for me regardless of their "classification". I do a run/walk/run so what works for me is probably going to be different. I am also very petite which affects the ride of the shoe all around. I LOVE seeing video's like this and wish more channels did it!
Fantastic! I saw you shout about this video on insta and I’ve been meaning to come back and watch it for days now! Just got round to it 👌 great stuff as always, I have to say I LOVE the hyperion tempo for its simplicity but other than that I can’t argue with the rest of your choices, I haven’t tried many of what you have but the ones we have both tried we have relatively similar views!
I over pronate on my right foot too and I have NEVER ran in a stability shoe and had zero injuries while running. The very first time I tried to run in a stability shoe my knee was killing me. All I run in now are minimalist shoes.
I don't about the Brooks levitate 4s, but I own two pairs of the 5s(laceless version and stealth fit). I personally love them. They are a very ferm shoe compared to what else is out there. Definitely not a shoe for everyone, or even for most. Not a ton of feed back at slower paces so you'll really be exerting yourself more, but at those faster paces, I would say 7 minutes(a mile) or lower, pretty damn decent.
Good reviews. I have the Propel and really like it. Glad to see your not jumping on the band wagon about certain shoes other evaluators love. Shows your integrity and demonstrates everyones feet are unique and what is great for some can be a disaster for others. 👍👍
Awesome! I totally appreciate these type of videos. I get a weird pain on my left knee after running with the NB 1080v10 so I had to stop using those and it sucks because they are awesome shoes........Rubi! Where’s your ball? 😝🐶
Hi Emily..nice to see your video on a regular weekday, thanks for all that info..and by the way my shoe to go is the Clifton 6..love them Hokas.but I just got me the NB 1080v10..a few weeks ago..(they just became available in my country).you did a really good review on the 1080s.thats the reason I got them..have run about 40k during this past week (about 25miles)and so far so good..not as soft as the hokas but nice bounce..love your videos..very helpfull to make the right decision when getting new shoes..thanks again
Went to go buy new running shoes I've only ever ran in pegasus 36 37 and 38's. They didn't have any in my size but a all black colorway. And those are ugly. You look good, you feel good, you run fast. So I bought brooks ricochet 3 and they felt great this morning during the track workout. I'm a lighter runner so I think they'll be good for me
I would have kept the Clifton Edge of not for the absence of rubber. I liked the design, but when the outaole starts to shred after three miles I don't have high hopes for longevity. I've gone a total of 9 miles in the Clifton 7 now, and the soles look so much better than those on the Edge. My philosophy is that you will always know your feet and knees better than anyone else can hope to know them. You will therefore know what works for your feet and knees better than anyone else. If a shoe hurts your knees, stop. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
What a great review. Shoes that don't work are interesting to hear about as much as those that do. Interesting that most of them are Brooks. As for the over pronation, I have the same issue with my right foot, but run in a Neutral shoe. I have used a stability shoe before and get wicked knee pain. Nope, not doing that again. Gotta go with what works for your own body.
Great video once again :) iv been watching you videos for a bit now. I have noticed that people say about the pronation. And i was one of them at the start. But the more i look and watch your videos i see that some shoes have you pronate more than others. Like the hyperion elite 2 i thought u looked spot on :) but you run in stability shoes and actually experience pain which isnt good. So i think you running is good and maybe if anything if you strengthen up your glutes with resistance bands like glute bridges or clam shells. You would find that it might correct you ever so slight pronation :) keep up the work :)
@@RunLikeHeller no problem its quite clear your not a bad runner or not efficient etc. You just have weak glutes and hips. So again plenty of band work targeting the glutes and hip mobility work i would nearly be 99% sure in 4 weeks of that work 2 times a week maybe 3 you see significant changes :) keep.up the good work. 🙂👌👌
Omg yeah the levitate was really weird for me too. In the store even. It would need totally diff body/foot than mine 👍. ... I do really love the major differences in shoes available today cuz it shows everyone will be accommodated for 👏👏👍
Just got professionally fitted and they suggested a bunch of ‘stability’ shoes including Adrenaline, Kayano & NB 860. Got the 860s as fit like a glove. A month later - constant pains around posterior tibialis presumably due to shoes over-correcting my gait. So hard to trust the fitting process!!!!! :(
I tend to agree on the Hyperion Tempo. I got one and haven’t reviewed it yet either and have done 30 miles in it. I just found it very flat and lacking in arch support and although have done a few relatively fast miles in it, just felt was not helping me much. Kind of reminded of the Rincon and seemingly was one of the few not to be overly excited about that either. The Tempo seemed a bit better on a firm trail when appreciated the relative lightness coupled with some cushioning so might give that type of terrain more of a go. But a general thumbs down for Brooks then.
I agree about the hyperion tempo. I purchased them because of the positive reviews on youtube. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this shoe is a flop. It's pretty but I don't want to run in it. I really don't even want to wear it, at all. ugh.
I got a pair of the Ghost 12 recently, and surprisingly it's worked for me. I just put them on and don't think about it. The Brooks Levitate I avoid like the plague after my experience in the original Levitate and I can't bring myself to try another pair ever again. Sooo....the Fuelcell Propel and Hyperion Tempo are out? What a coincidence, we're the same shoe size! 😀
The propel is great i just don’t have the time to take it all the way. The Hyperion Tempo is a no for me though Unfortunately. Wow!! Same shoe size huh?
@@RunLikeHeller trust me, you're my barometer for whether they fit true to size or need to be sized up/down (I always wear a half size bigger for running). It's funny cos I'm relatively short and everyone I know who wears the same size towers over me...oh the shame of being a short big foot woman 🙈
Thanks for the great video! You really hit the mark with the Brooks lineup of shoes. Four or five years ago they were an excellent shoe, but they have not kept up with revising their products and now they’re old and outdated. I wish they would shake things up and completely overhaul their technology and product line.
I think they spent all their time engineering trail runners and for road shoes, they phoned it in The new Cascadia 16 trail runners are fantastic! I love them
Came across this video though made back in Aug. 2020. My alumni list is as follows: I too retired the Skechers GoRun 7+(too firm) as well as the Max Road 4(hot upper). At one point I had the whole Saucony Endorphin collection. The Pro was too stiff with the carbon plate and the Shift was too firm a ride. The Speed V1 is kid dynamite!!! The Hoka Clifton 7 got retired only because I learned to late I needed a size 10.5, not a size 10 which started to make my toes scrunch and bleed. Live and learn. All these shoes are good shoes I am sure for someone except the Max Road 4 would lack breathability for anybody. All stories are anecdotal. :-)
The brooks road shoes really suk lately. I find the cushioning levels are either too soft, or too hard, The tongue padding same thing. The toe box is too tight for my big toe in my normal size. On a positive note. Brooks Trail running shoes are awesome! good grip, rock protection, cushioned, wider toe box. i guess Brooks engineers trail shoes full time now, and they just sell crappy old designs in the road shoe category to consumers who buy them not knowing what they get based on the Brooks name.????
I agree on the stability shoes! I too have some pronation, but found stability shoes gave me more issues! Also agree on the Ghost - not loving it. Any thoughts on Mizuno? I don’t think you’ve reviewed. Wave Rider 24. Great video!! Double like 😊
Interesting about the stability shoes. I never really got the point of trying to correct what your foot wants to do unless that is itself causing issues. A while back I had Achilles issues and my physio recommended some insoles that raised heel a bit and provided more arch support. They kind of worked when it was bad and I still use them in my “day” shoes but was pleased to get rid of them for running as added so much weight which is the usual problem with stability shoes.
I’ve got some old Ghosts and tend to agree. I’ve got wide feet so wide fit option and so comfortable means they should be perfect but never seem to go quick in them. They’re just solid but not wow.
I love Brooks shoes; however, I find that I need to wear a half size larger. I wear an 8 for just about every other shoe, but I wear an 8 1/2 in Brooks, and it doesn’t matter which Brooks I am wearing.
Good video, and great that you go "against the flow" on a couple of shoes. NB Propel v1, mine are up to 280 miles now, and plenty of miles in them still. Got them at a reduced price, so great value. Use them mostly for long runs (2 hours plus), where the cushioning is great, but responsive enough to get me 4-6 miles at marathon pace on my 20+ milers. Just a bit abrasive on my skinny ankles where they are cut a bit high - solved with thicker socks - be interesting of v2 resolves this for me.
Funny thing about the EvoRide, they actually worked for me better than the Kinvara 11 as an uptempo option given The firmer flytefoam propel midsole felt comfortable for me as a 230+ lb guy. That guidesole rocker also worked for me with the low drop and didn’t give me sore feet unlike the Kinvara.
Great video. I recently went through foot imaging and gait analysis at a local running store and was put in the Asics Gel Kayano 27. I have flat feet but only overpronate on one side. I'm on the fence about them becasue I think the correction may be too musch for my foot that doesn't overpronate. I see that you typically do 50 miles before giving a review but I was wondering, how many miles you think are enough to draw a conclusion about a shoe?
Thanks for watching! From what you’re describing, the Kayano Lite might be a good option for you to look into. I’d say I usually know within a few solid runs whether or not something is working for me.
I also have Kayanos, and get knee pain whenever I wear them (and I often wear mild/moderate stability shoes). I think it just has too much medial posting for me. (Very comfortable, padded, sturdy shoe though.)
Honestly, this is what more shoe reviewers should do! Seeing people run 50-100 miles in a shoe they hate (or are not feeling it) is really kind of sad. Us regular runners don't do it. Ever. To many shoes out there to waste time on shoes that just are so-so. I run in tons of brands and after 20-25 miles, I know what i like or don't.
Exactly! I just can’t see myself taking a shoe to 50 miles that I don’t enjoy or that causes me any kind of discomfort. So I’ll keep doing this periodically if any other shoes end up not working for me!
I got the Salming Greyhounds a few months ago using your discount code and really like them. ... OK, I love Ruby and spent half the time watching her instead of you. Such a sweet dog. Have you thought about adopting a rescue boy for companionship? I think she'd like a brother.
I bought the Propel V1's mainly for walking as the FuelCell midsole is soft and very comfortable! They're actually still on sale. Not a fan of the flared heel counter though which seems to be the style in other shoes like the Hoka Clifton 7 and the Edge. It bothers my achilles more than it shouldn't.
Thanks for your sincerity. I agree with you about Propel. They are good but I cant run in them anymore, cause for daily training my Beacons are better and for long easy runs I prefer to run in 1080 and Infinity react. So propel got out of my rotation.
I (Nathan) couldn't get along with the original Glideride either. Felt like a "clash of personalities" for me. Design of the rocker was to go fast and the upper was super thick and like a heavy premium shoe. Oh well. FWIW, I thought V2 was better.
Enjoyed the video! Ruby reminds me of my dog and mulch lol. I agree the Ghost 13 isn’t anything special but for some reason I’ve been noticing my feet feel better using the Clifton 7 and Ghost 13 for my daily trainers vs when I was racking up miles in the Saucony Ride. Levitate series has been a huge miss from Brooks. I have version 2 in the Ugly Sweater design. Fine for casual wear but terrible to run in.
I like the Hyperion Tempo and Evo Ride, I hated the glide ride which allot of people seemed to like it felt like there was a giant ball inside the shoe.
Good day Miss Heller. May i suggest the New Balance fuelcell prism for you to try ? Fuelcell goodness with just a hint of stability ( yes a hint ) to look after your ankles ( and your knees and your hips ). A bit of stability in such a soft foam makes sense anyway even for a neutral runner
@@RunLikeHeller oh, would u recommend if going for rebel and propel v1s at 41 and 48 dollar respectively is a wise decision as a fast shoe and daily trainer?
siddharth bose I used rebel more for tempo days and propel more as a daily trainer. Propel could maybe be used for both if you really only wanted to pick one, but it’s just not as good as the rebel imo for tempo days.
I wasn't hot about the NB Propel v1. It felt wide and loose. I ran in it three times.... I'm wondering if V2 is gonna have that wide sinking heel as well? I look forward to your review. Carry on.
I agree with the EvoRide, but I did enjoy the Hyperion Tempo. Not as bouncy as a lot of other midsoles, but I thought it had a lot more bounce than most Brooks shoes.
The same thing happened to me in stability shoes! My knee are like ahhhhh! I tried the Gaviota 2 and it was to much cushion. I also tried the Clifton edge I 100 percent agree I got them as a seated pair. I’ve ran a couple times got some arch pain and other days are it’s nice. I’ve been loving it for super easy days/social runs. Razor 3 > Hyperion tempo forsure.
I also had this problem for the first few weeks but then I broke them in and started to enjoy my runs. But they are defiantly for a 4 mile and less distance. Anything over that and my arches start to ache.
Great job! I buy a lot of running shoes and feel the same way about the Brooks Hyperion Tempo. I wanted to love them but the midsole is lifeless and the shoelaces are the worst.
For too long shoes have been prescriptive, saying if you do this you need this shoe to “fix” it. During the past 40+ years of this mindset injury rates didn’t change. Studies show that the shoe that feels the most comfortable leads to the least injuries. Find a shoe that works with your biomechanics. I have had overpronators do very well in neutral shoes. I’ve had overpronators really prefer a heavy stability shoe like the Brooks Beast. It’s all about the individual and what works with their biomechanics. As a shoe fitter I look at their gait and movement and get their injury history to get a category, but I really listen to their feedback and get them the shoe that they can wear and forget about. Categories don’t matter, comfort does!
for someone who is starting up on running , never run before and overweight .. Do you recommend to get ghost 13? if nt which one in your openion it is best?
The ghost 13 is a great daily trainer. If you’re just starting out, you’re probably going to have to try a few different options until you find what works best for you. Saucony ride 13 is another great option, so is the Hoka Clifton 7, or new balance 1080v10 or v11. Here’s a video about some of my favorite daily trainers: ua-cam.com/video/NirStBLUn5g/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
Brooks lost the plot sometime around 2017. I don't know if they changed management or designers, but their shoes are just getting sloppier and weirder over time.
Thanks for the video. I remember last pair of Nike running shoes I bought, they were awesome, first run, super knee pain, then, I thought, I am going to walk on them, nah more knee pain. No more Nike for running. I returned them. Now I see all those reviews about Nike shoes and , it'd not for me. 🤷🏻♂️.
I just ran my first run in my new Ghost 13s and right around 6 miles I had this burning sensation at a particular spot at the bottom of my foot. It could be because of friction and sweaty socks but not pleasant at all. I think I mighr get a pair of socks that arent cotton or just use this pair of shoes for much shorter runs
I thought the Levitate 3 was ok. I wouldn't buy another, but didn't have any problems either. I'm not surprised to hear it got worse since every update to a shoe is such a gamble. I plan on trying the Hyperion Tempo when the price comes down, but no way am I paying that much for a shoe I feel like has such mixed reviews. I don't think you are alone in dislking it. I've seen some other negative reviews (I can't remember who now though since I researched it so long ago).
The Levitate gave me blisters and made me bleed lol definitely a no-go for me. I have to agree I think the tempo’s price point is high for what it is. If you’re going to take the chance and try it, I’d say you’re right in waiting for the prices to drop!
Feel the SAME about the Evoride. Way too firm of a ride for me and not enough cushion. I actually suffered a stress fracture while running in these shoes (I think because of wearing only Hoka's and Nike's, which are very cushioned shoes), so I officially despise them haha
@@RunLikeHeller haha i was definitely bummed out, but it's healed now, so im thankful for that! sticking to Hoka and Saucony now (fell in love with Ride 13's and the Endorphin Speeds)
On the Evoride, same thoughts here, didn't work for me too. Rushed to the store after seeing rave reviews on how great the shoes are. Put it on and just ran in the store... yikess..so firm felt like I'm hurting my feet with every stride. Plus, my old pair of Adios 3 can do the same tempo job with a much softer landing package. Not for me and put it back on the shelf despite a 30% discount. Tq for the informative video.
Yay for Ruby! My dog is a black belt in stick eating, done it from a puppy. He literally eats the whole thing. Let’s just say his poop is rather fibrous. 🐕🌴💩
Emily. What do you do with your increasing shoe collection? Seth has the shoedio. Thomas uses his collection as a giant backdrop for his youtube videos. Kofuzi donates his to charity. Jami is to coy say what he does with his. Besides keeping them away from Ruby so she won't use them as chew toys, what do you do with yours? Just curious.

Agree about stability. I run in shoes that work for me regardless of their "classification". I do a run/walk/run so what works for me is probably going to be different. I am also very petite which affects the ride of the shoe all around. I LOVE seeing video's like this and wish more channels did it!
Thank you!!! I agree, you have to run in what YOU feel comfortable in at the end of the day!
Great minds think alike! Lol
Nike shoes just doesn't work for me
Me too.. always keen to try all the technology offered by Nike, but the fit is too tight for my foor shape.. 😢
I over pronate on my right foot too and I have NEVER ran in a stability shoe and had zero injuries while running. The very first time I tried to run in a stability shoe my knee was killing me. All I run in now are minimalist shoes.
You gotta run in what works!
I think someone won't be on the Brooks Christmas card list!
Great vid. Keep up the good work 👏
Hahaha thanks! I don’t dislike brooks at all I just want more from them!!
Helpful and useful channel that is so much better than Amazon reviews.
Thank you for watching!!
One of your best videos so far 👍👍
Thank you!!
I had the levitate 2 it was the worst shoe I've ran in. I only wear it now.for walking the dog even then I'd rather not....appreciate your honesty👍
I always try to be honest!
Good reviews. I have the Propel and really like it. Glad to see your not jumping on the band wagon about certain shoes other evaluators love. Shows your integrity and demonstrates everyones feet are unique and what is great for some can be a disaster for others. 👍👍
Different strokes for different folks!
Awesome! I totally appreciate these type of videos. I get a weird pain on my left knee after running with the NB 1080v10 so I had to stop using those and it sucks because they are awesome shoes........Rubi! Where’s your ball? 😝🐶
Exactly! shoes work differently for lots of people.
Love your honesty, thanks. I also love Propel v1...great shoe!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
So glad I could help!!!
I'm a lighter runner so I think they'll be good for me
Agree on the FuelCell Propel! I snagged a pair from Joes NB for under $40 and they feel great!
Yessss that’s a steal!
That’s right!!!
Totally agree. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this. Yes, trying those exercises is definitely a good idea!
It would need totally diff body/foot than mine 👍. ... I do really love the major differences in shoes available today cuz it shows everyone will be accommodated for 👏👏👍
Hello :) At first I would like to say thank you for what you are doing, your honest reviews are amazing and secondly, you are so beautiful! :))
Thank you!
Love your channel, love your dog...so damn cute! This video was a breath of fresh air. Great job 🙌 plus one subscriber
Thank you soooo much! Happy to have you!
It’s definitely not my favorite shoe but other people sure seem to love it!
I agree about the hyperion tempo. I purchased them because of the positive reviews on youtube. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this shoe is a flop. It's pretty but I don't want to run in it. I really don't even want to wear it, at all. ugh.
The Levitate’s fit is garbage, and I never say things so negative about products.
Geez there are a lot of shoes out there that you don’t like. Must be hard for you to find a good set of shoes.
Thanks for watching! I hope so too! I think they’re going in the right direction with the Hyperion line, even if they didn’t work for me.
Brooks are the only shoes that support me all day, dont kill me, and make my feet sweat 🤔
I think they spent all their time engineering trail runners and for road shoes, they phoned it in The new Cascadia 16 trail runners are fantastic! I love them
Great honest vlog! But Ruby stole the show🙂🐕🥰
Thanks! I’m ok with that lol
Loved the video. Same for me on kayano, hyperion tempo and levitate. Brooks is falling behind majorly!!
Thanks for watching!
@@RunLikeHeller looking to get saucony endorphin speed. Saw your review on it too!!
Such a great shoe! One of my all time favorites!
Double like 😊
Thank you!! I have a Mizuno shoe here waiting to be tested...might do it in the next few weeks!
Run Like Heller Wave Rider 24? 😊
Michele A yup that’s the one!
I feel the same!
I’ve got some old Ghosts and tend to agree. I’ve got wide feet so wide fit option and so comfortable means they should be perfect but never seem to go quick in them. They’re just solid but not wow.
Exactly! Great shoe, just not super exciting
You should make these more often. Maybe every 3-6 months
I love Brooks shoes; however, I find that I need to wear a half size larger. I wear an 8 for just about every other shoe, but I wear an 8 1/2 in Brooks, and it doesn’t matter which Brooks I am wearing.
Shopping for some new shoes and tried on some Brooks and found the same
Good video, and great that you go "against the flow" on a couple of shoes.
I might have v2 ready to go in the queue for review 😉
Funny thing about the EvoRide, they actually worked for me better than the Kinvara 11 as an uptempo option given The firmer flytefoam propel midsole felt comfortable for me as a 230+ lb guy. That guidesole rocker also worked for me with the low drop and didn’t give me sore feet unlike the Kinvara.
That’s awesome!! Different strokes for different folks for sure!!
That could definitely be it!
I had them once. I feel like me and Gel shoes dont match. Just something about gel anything, I have tried gel insoles and had same feelings.
@@RunLikeHeller YESSS! Reviews for "regular" runners! Thank you!
I loved my 90s basketball shoes! But yeah, lets leave them in the 90s :)
😂
I got the Salming Greyhounds a few months ago using your discount code and really like them. ... OK, I love Ruby and spent half the time watching her instead of you. Such a sweet dog. Have you thought about adopting a rescue boy for companionship? I think she'd like a brother.
Hahaha maybe one day! She’s a handful!!
I wanted to love the hyperion but just couldn't. It is crazy comfortable so I use it for strength training not running.
I love these reviews. I feel the same about the Brooks Levitate 4. They sit in the closet after 12 miles.
It’s a great shoe!
Oh, you can definitely go wrong with the gel kayano. They've screwed several versions of that one up.
Good to know!
Thanks for your sincerity. I agree with you about Propel. They are good but I cant run in them anymore, cause for daily training my Beacons are better and for long easy runs I prefer to run in 1080 and Infinity react. So propel got out of my rotation.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
You saved me so much money! Thank you
Happy to help!
I’ve had the levitate 2’s and 4’s They are definitely not meant for running. Had both split in half after 6 months of normal use.
I love check in videos. Thank you for doing this! Ruby is adorable😀
Thank you!!
Ditto on the ghost, great shoe likely but just seems dated. I had to pick between the Clifton 7s and the Ghost 13 and glad I picked up the Clifton 7s.
Thank you for your video! I found the same issue with Asics Gel Kayano 26; having knee pain whenever I walk/run in it after 30 minutes or more.
Thank you for watching!
I (Nathan) couldn't get along with the original Glideride either. Felt like a "clash of personalities" for me. Design of the rocker was to go fast and the upper was super thick and like a heavy premium shoe. Oh well. FWIW, I thought V2 was better.
v2 of the glideride and evoride are a major improvement from the first!
Clifton and ghost make a nice rotation! Thanks for watching!
Have you tried the brooks glycerin 18? I’m looking to get those shoes for my daily high mileage trainers but I’m not completely sure
I tried them and was pretty underwhelmed so they never made the cut for the channel. The ghost is a much better option from Brooks imo!
Run Like Heller awesome, thanks for letting me know
I like the Hyperion Tempo and Evo Ride, I hated the glide ride which allot of people seemed to like it felt like there was a giant ball inside the shoe.
To each their own!
Funny you say that...just got them in 😉
Fuel cell TC is a keeper for me.
Great vid, just have a question about propel V1, would u still classify it as a cush/plush ride? compared to 1080v10?
1080v10 is much more plush!
Carry on.
Will be running in it soon!
I agree with the EvoRide, but I did enjoy the Hyperion Tempo. Not as bouncy as a lot of other midsoles, but I thought it had a lot more bounce than most Brooks shoes.
I wanted to like it so bad! I think I liked it a little more than the Evoride though
Run Like Heller Now I’m curious to see what you think about the Hyperion Elite 2!
Stability shoes are definitely not for everyone! Clifton Edge can be fun here and there but as a whole it didn’t really work for me!
I like the change in topics, keep them coming! Any races in the fall for you? 🇨🇦
Thank you!! Still figuring the race part out...
I have your same opinion on the Levitate. I found also to be way to firm for a daily trainer.
I also had this problem for the first few weeks but then I broke them in and started to enjoy my runs. But they are defiantly for a 4 mile and less distance. Anything over that and my arches start to ache.
Brooks Adrenaline! Always perfect out of the box! In my opinion, the best stability shoe ever!
Saved me from knee pain after running 300k+kms on a Kayano 27
Cute dog. Thanks for being honest.I agree Brooks need to do something special.Good shoes but not exciting.
Thanks! You’re welcome! & I agree!
Great job! I buy a lot of running shoes and feel the same way about the Brooks Hyperion Tempo. I wanted to love them but the midsole is lifeless and the shoelaces are the worst.
Exactly! I had such high hopes for them and was really disappointed.
Totally agree with your review, well done!!
Thank you!
Exactly!! Thank you for this! I feel like comfort comes first and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. At least for now, anyway.
Where in NY you from?
Long Island
Ultraboost 20 doesnt work for me. The heel is way too squishy, it feels really weird. Ub19 works better
for someone who is starting up on running , never run before and overweight ..
Here’s a video about some of my favorite daily trainers:

@@RunLikeHeller thanks alot I appreciate your fast response !
Brooks lost the plot sometime around 2017. I don't know if they changed management or designers, but their shoes are just getting sloppier and weirder over time.
Yeah you got that right. see my above comments.
Their shoes are definitely not for everyone!
Yes try getting a sock that isn’t cotton before giving up on them
I thought the Levitate 3 was ok.
Oh no that is nottttt good
@@RunLikeHeller haha i was definitely bummed out, but it's healed now, so im thankful for that! sticking to Hoka and Saucony now (fell in love with Ride 13's and the Endorphin Speeds)
Ayman K glad it’s better now! I’ve been loving both of those too!
WHAT I LOVED THE HYPERION TEMPO
Propel didn't work for me either! My big toes hurt after a short run! Comfy though...it's now my walking shoes now. Unfortunately.
Thanks for watching!
I had a different pair of brooks I dont remember the style and it gave me blisters too
Maybe I missed it but did you like the glideride?
I did!
Yay for Ruby! My dog is a black belt in stick eating, done it from a puppy. He literally eats the whole thing. Let’s just say his poop is rather fibrous. 🐕🌴💩
Ruby might give him a run for his money
Ruby reminds me a lot of our German Shepherd/ Rott mix Gemma 💕
Other people have told us that too! So cute
This video was great but Ruby was really the star of the show!
She always is!
I overpronate and some stability shoes give me knee pain too 😂
it's a pain!
Just seeing this video. I got this shoe from Brooks the LE version.
The one with the strap over it?
Yea they need to throw this shoe away.
I had the Ghost 13 when they first came out......threw them in the trash!
