At the end of the day, this season gave us so much cool Star Wars stuff and interesting additions to the lore, I loved it. Criticisms aside, this season was just very fun, and that's what the Mandalorian should be.
Loved this season so much! The story can get derivative at times but that doesn’t make it less enjoyable for me. I’d be the first to admit that I am easily amused.
A nice detail that I saw pointed out online is whenever the trio are on the Gauntlet Grogu progressively sits closer to Bo over the course of the season until he’s on her lap.
I loved the Armorer's delivery of "This... is the way" when Din says he will adopt Grogu. It's such a "NOW you get it, good for you." In the same vein, when she looks to the side while telling Din he should take Grogu on his journeys just as Din's master did is a nice emotional cue that's perfectly unclear. Is she emotional in the moment? Proud of Din? It lets us imagine new depths to her character.
I loved how much agency Grogu got this season. He still maintain his cute baby talk and child-like interactions with his environment, but he really stepped up when Din asked him to and started to display his own moral code.
I loved a lot about this season. My favorite part about this season was Bo-Katan. Easily my favorite character now. I loved her dynamic with Grogu and Din. Hats off to Katee Sackhoff, phenomenal actress.
People that complain "nothing happened this season" are ridiculous so much happened. Like you mention, a lot of us thought the whole season would revolve around getting to Mandalor and bathing in the living waters and it was finished super fast and opened up so much more story.
Thank you for putting this out! I have been avoiding anything critical of season 3, just because I loved it -- and don't want to risk anything taking away that joy. lol.
I still overall just really loved Season 3. There’s a few spots that could use polishing, but it just offered a lot that was super fun (like the silly stuff with Grogu or other worlds like Plazier 15, or the great Mandalorian action) and a lot of great Mando moments that culminated well with Mandalore uniting and Din, Bo, and Grogu growing stronger together.
i really just wanna shout out lizzo and jack black for, to me, being an absolute delight in their episode even now as i'm just seeing pictures of it. yes it's goofy, but the episodes suits the appearance, and who HASN'T had a dream of appearing in star wars before? the joy they felt at being part of this was so palpable, i didn't even care that their acting was corny. it was so clear that it made them so giddy, and that's the best feeling both of star wars and of watching a show like this
I love that Grogu doesn’t use the force fatally; he uses it to dodge, protect, move weapons out of enemy reach, and push people around, but not kill. He never chokes anyone or pushes them off a ledge.
@Doctah Wahwee Din Grogu is not a jedi. He's a kid. He is still learning about the world around him. Although, I must say, I do like his connection with the Force and all living beings growing and becoming clearer to him. Never forget that his true teacher is Djarin and not Luke. Favreau and Filoni are saving Grogu's pain for the film or the finale of the series, and that's good. Because we all know what pain leads to... Perhaps Grogu finds a WAY to not start frying everybody with Force-Lightning or choking them out when he becomes an angry teenager? P. S. I also love that they didn't go overboard with Grogu. Everything Grogu's done so far has been perfect - not too much, not too little. Right amount of Force at the right time.
@@EdwardZhou_TJOL56 Well, see, that's how real children react. If you saw someone 'hurting' someone you loved, wouldn't you try to stop it? But Din Grogu obviously learns from Din Djarin and he never repeated that mistake.
@Doctah Wahwee I honestly feel that you'll enjoy the show more if you see Grogu as the authors are presenting him - as a child. He might be a magic/special kid but he is still a kid. You don't always listen to your teachers, you don't always listen to your parents, but you almost always think that your peers (in elementary/primary and high school) have 'important' opinions that are 'true'. While I'm basing my opinions on human children, I acknowledge that it's perfectly possible that Yoda's and Grogu's race has a deeper and earlier understanding of their surrounding at a younger age. I see Grogu as a child that is not able to read yet. Grogu is, IMO, a child that is highly susceptible to what Djarin has taught him, also everything he's seen during his journeys with his step-father and everyone he's ever met. I can't tell what his 'Force' sense is telling him but it seems that he's learning a lot about empathy.
Hi guys. Absolutely love your channel. I loved the mandalorian s fighting that spsce crocodile with coming in, at the end, to destroy it, I loved the purgills in hyperspace, I loved seeing Navarro looking a lot more exotic and happier, I loved the pirate showdown and Grogu squeezing the anzellan, I loved the Mando vs pirates in space, I loved Bo Katan rescuing Din from the spider and Din bathing in the waters, I loved the dogfight and seeing coruscant, again, I loved how some of the hots reminded me of the chase from episode 2, I loved the space trains and Elia and the doctors character, I loved the shot of the star destroyer, after they got off. Reminded me of fallen order on bracca, I absolutely loved ahmed best as Kelleren beq save Grogu. That really made me happy. There was a lot to love in this season! Even if some of the bigger story beats fell flat for me, I still love the show and I'm glad we can all find a lot to appreciate in it.
Overall I enjoyed it but it has so much potential to be amazing. Though it did have some amazing moments, Ahmed Best returned as a Jedi, and just seeing Mandalorians in action was unbelievable.
@@IronPsyde Luke's appearance was better for sure. That's probably gonna be the best scene in the show until it's over. Great video, thanks! I find it a little dissonant that a lot of fans take the undeniably great moment of Luke’s rescue in the S2 finale as so much better than one of the most jaw-droppingly magnificent aerial battles ever shown, with the Armourer bonking, and Bo slicing, Koska sliding and knee shooting. So much bigger than the S2 finale, much as they’re both great in their own ways.

I have a feeling that half of what We got in Season 3, was necessary world-building and character sketching, to set up the main events of Season 4...especially when We consider that The Pirate Nation (esp. Vane) will be a factor in Skeleton Crew and the rest of The Mandoverse (esp. the theatrical film from Dave Filoni, Co-produced by Jon Favreau), going forward (wouldn't be surprised if the Animation side of it depicted some of their exploits in The Bad Batch...especially Pirate King Gorian Shard).
@@anthonyyoutubefan7567 I agree, there definitely was a lot of setup and preproduction. Even if this season didn’t necessarily make much sense now there definitely were some really important developments.
13:20 to be honest when Grogu breaks up the fight was one of my favorite scenes in the season. I love that Grogu gets so much more agency this season and the suit gives him a physical presence to effect others without the force.
The best thing this season did was make Grogu a character, before he was just plot cute mcguffin with little personality. In this season and those unfortunate placed episodes in Boba Fett he has agency, Luke gives him a choice and imo gives him the most important lesson "a moment for you is a lifetime for everyone else". Little dude wants to be with Djarin and his friends and just have fun and decided on his own to be a full fledged Mandalorian. He breaks a fight, he tries to say "this is the way", listens to the Armorer, pays attention to Din and Bo teaching navigation. We even see multiple shots through the season, especially the mines episode from Grogu's perspective. He looks so sad when the Armorer says he can't take the creed because he can't speak until Djarin adopta him and finally is all proud when they give him his rondel and named him Din Grogu Mandalorian apprentice. They show he uses everything he learned from Luke, Din Djarin and even Bo, he even power knee slides while force pushing at the battle with Gideon like his dad and Bo. I love what they did with his character and I really hope he and his dad are the focus of the next season.
@Steven A. They are not his people mando is his people that's like saying all Jesus believing people are each others people it's just not how the galaxy works
And I love this video!! Thank you for this! This season was different and had some shall we say odd moments but all together it was amazing, and I loved it! It gave us some of the best moments throughout the show and some of the best action scenes in all of Star Wars!
I liked it to be honest, but definitely agree the writing could have used some fine tuning. I’m only going to say that my reasoning for the lower story quality this season is for the following two reasons: 1) Dave Filoni may have been more focused on writing Ahsoka (he apparently wrote all episodes, and writing a pitch for his movie, so I can imagine he has been very busy) that less attention was given to this season. 2) The recent budget cuts at Disney may have influenced the production quality a bit.
I don't know what they did, but the ships and dogfights this season look amazing. I like how this season focussed more on the mandolorians. While it does feel a little like a buffer season just there to tie things up, it also sets up some subtle but probably important details for later stories in the universe such as mandalore being reclaimed.
Yeah, but it's really a shame, all those super-negative channels get all the views, way more than his vids do. I just say "An Unbribled Rage" of a whole lot of movies.
My favorite moment was the air fight scene against the pirates. He’s above you, he’s below you!!! Jejeje Mando was so bad ass and I love his modified N1!!!!
As much as I was disappointed with the ending and part of the season overall, this video makes me realise we still got some awesome moments. I rewound the shots of the fleet leaving Nevaro and heading to Mandalore so many times, I love that stuff and how good it looks!
10:29 I haven’t seen anyone else say this but I can’t be the only one who thinks the party with The Duchess and Captain Bombardier is very reminiscent of the tea party, the caterpillar, and the croquet game from Alice in Wonderland.
I loved Season 3! The people who say it sucked are welcome to drop The Mandalorian and go watch something else. In Episode 18, and in an episode of The Bad Batch the title of which I can't remember, there were some nice little touches of horror, supporting the desire among a lot of fans to see a full-up Star Wars horror story. That would be cool. Since we won't get Rangers Of The New Republic, I strongly suspect that Season 4 will be The Mandorian: THE Ranger Of The New Republic. Looking forward to it!
I have a personal hunch that the lack of the line “removing ones helmet” might be more so down to they fact that with the return of Mandalore and access to the living waters it is rather unnecessary. It’s just “Oh darn, looks like I took my helmet off. Time to go down to the mines and get redeemed.”
I know this video is a bit old now, but the alien on the train is a Bufopel. We can see one in Canto Bight in The Last Jedi. I agree that it's a pretty cool design!
I'm going to be honest, the Jack Black and lizzo episode was actually my favorite. I can't stand either of those people usually, but it was the right amount of Star Wars campy. I thought the law & order styled adventure was fantastic, and I love seeing Bo and din work together.
15:36 seeing the two groups so intertwined as the Great Forge was being lit made me well up. Although this scene could have been even more impactful if they had set it up better, it was a powerful scene for me.
I don’t really know how to explain it, but it felt a bit too much like a superhero movie to me this season. All these main characters being involved with each other in some convoluted way was just such a clunky change from the first couple of seasons. I did enjoy a few episodes though, and grogu is one of my favourite ever starwars characters. I’m a bit worried that feloni and favreux are going to make Star Wars a bit too eu-like and lose a lot of casual/ semi-professional fans like me though.
I keep seeing clickbait for various media outlets you've never heard of touting a "Reset" to the entire franchise. Please squash this, or even worse, confirm it. Thanks in advance!
I am not trying to rain on your parade, but the baby Shriekhawks ended up as the feast when the two Mandalorian factions meet for the first time on Nevarro.
This Season could have been much better...But for what it's worth, I enjoyed it and it some of the best moments of the Mandalorian. It was the things connecting that was lacking. So glad IG-11 is back. Hope to see him and R5 interacting in the future. The reverse of R2 and C-3PO
I cant believe ppl seem to hate the Guns for Hire ep so much. Although its mostly filler, I rly liked it and rate it as a top 3 episode. The AotC investigation vibe was great
For the Q&A: Wild baseless speculation: What if, in a future Mandalorian Wars movie, the New Canon reveals Darth Revan is actually Tarre Vizsla's Sith name?
What I realized is heavily implied is that Kelleran clashed with Anakin. Survived but Lost his original lightsaber (purple one) since he confirms there are no other younglings. And We know who was wielding the Youngling Slayer-9000.... I wonder if he saw the actual damage. Would be cool if the reason Reva survived is that as she passed out Kelleran engaged Anakin. Sad part is we know there was at least one more youngster out there. May the force be with Zett Jukkasa! I need that Kelleran vs Anakin fight. Like a blu ray exclusive with the book 3 release. Something. Please, don't tease us like that and never show it. Fact: Anakin was personally killing the younglings. Fact: Kelleran confirmed the younglings are all dead. Fact: those aren't his lightsabers. Damn you Favreau... DAMN YOU!!!!!
WOW! I NEVER PICKED UP ON THAT. I was wondering: Where is Master Beq's (signature) purple lightsaber? Did he lose it while breaking in to the temple? Did he leave it with someone before he ventured to The Jedi Temple? I guess We'll find out, later in the series...HOWEVER, I certainly didn't think that it was because he already fought a losing battle to save The Jedi Younglings in the tower, and knew that Grogu was in a remote, secluded part of the temple, so he went there in secret, maybe telepathically telling the other Jedi Knights and Masters where to send Grogu to be rescued. Well, then...We definitely need to see what Kelleran Beq saw in The Jedi Temple's tower on Coruscant. If he fought with Lord Darth Vader, I guess it ended in a draw, or with Vader believing he killed Beq...which might work to The Beq twins' advantage...I want to see Achk Med-Beq being a spy for both The Jedi and The Rebellion, before it was even an established thing... Damn you, Filoni, is more like it...since he wrote that part, most likely, since it is a part of The Clone Wars' "Shattered" arc/chapter.
George Lucas said said when he made starwars..it was a heros journey...what if the madalrian is the same but through grogus eyes..from seeing jedi order destroyed..to being save by mando and seeing his father's honor..of what he went through..he was a frightened as a kid in the temple to sliding and fighting the bad guy with his dad..seeing creatures surround u on his journeys..he is powerful with the force..but takes actions for protecting
I think this season was good, not perfect like the good GoT, not trash like many other shows. It was consistently good. I can't really fathom why everyone is taking this as the end of Star Wars!
Does anyone know what happed to din's ib-94 blaster pistol I couldn't tell if he kept it since he got his jetpack back and had the 2 new pistols in his belt
The season was not edited to flow like I wanted and the Jack Black episode was the worst one. But honestly, the season was still way better than people are portraying like it was horrible. Also, we got the flashback scene with Kelleran Beq which was awesome!! Plus, they finally re-took Mandalore. I wasn’t happy they took forever to bring moth Gideon, but all in all I enjoyed majority of it and happy they still are running a decent Star Wars show. Bro, you didn’t like Andor, which was the best that Disney Star Wars has produced since the first two seasons of the Mandalorian.
At the end of the day, this season gave us so much cool Star Wars stuff and interesting additions to the lore, I loved it. Criticisms aside, this season was just very fun, and that's what the Mandalorian should be.
Same for me. I mainly went in for some fun Mando stuff, and I got that plus more with the new Mandalorian lore and cooperation.

Should have left that baby with his people. I was pissed he returned
@Steven A. They are not his people mando is his people that's like saying all Jesus believing people are each others people it's just not how the galaxy works
@@flamebreaker7318 Disney's toy salesman are his people.
What a great video; it may have had problems, but that doesn't prevent us from acknowledging the things we enjoyed.
My only criticism is some episodes could've and should've been longer.
Same with the Bad Batch.
Thanks for being so positive! This one of the best channels to follow about Star Wars related news.
I don't know what they did, but the ships and dogfights this season look amazing.
I like how this season focussed more on the mandolorians.
While it does feel a little like a buffer season just there to tie things up, it also sets up some subtle but probably important details for later stories in the universe such as mandalore being reclaimed.
Regarding dogfights did you see how many digital artists are credited at the end? They had to extend the song! 😁
Thank you...another great review‼😁❤
OMG A POSITIVE STAR WARS UA-cam CHANNEL?! WHAAAAAAT. I thought Star Wars was about being mad and hating everything.
Yeah, but it's really a shame, all those super-negative channels get all the views, way more than his vids do. I just say "An Unbribled Rage" of a whole lot of movies.
My favorite moment was the air fight scene against the pirates.
He’s above you, he’s below you!!! Jejeje
Mando was so bad ass and I love his modified N1!!!!
8:17 baby birds were not taken care of. They ate them with axe wolves
No, it was a different creature.
@@autumninthewoods4522No, john & dave discussed during a q&a. What animal did you think it was??
@@jjay__ they saved them just to eat them? Didn't he call them foundlings? They eat foundlings?
I felt Ep 22 was a Tim Burton Mad Hatter homage 😉
Grogu is now a mech pilot.
11:39 Jack Black’s pronunciation of program is hilarious.
I accept that Ragnar didn’t digest inside the bird’s mouth due to his armor, but he should have been covered in slime.
I love the title of your video!
Dawg I love the puppets. I L O V E the puppets
iDid The Leonardo Pose When iSaw Zeb 😂😂😂💪🏾🙌🏾
15:36 seeing the two groups so intertwined as the Great Forge was being lit made me well up. Although this scene could have been even more impactful if they had set it up better, it was a powerful scene for me.
It does have it's bright spots.
Thanks for the video.
I loved THIS review!
I wished they showed Moff Gideon with half his face burned off, and he would calmly adjust his tie after that, and drop dead.
This Season could have been much better...But for what it's worth, I enjoyed it and it some of the best moments of the Mandalorian. It was the things connecting that was lacking. So glad IG-11 is back. Hope to see him and R5 interacting in the future. The reverse of R2 and C-3PO
You forgot to mention Vane in ep 5, he was great, who's his actor?
Guns For Hire was my favorite episode of the show. I think they are setting up Din and Bo as couple.
Y'all are going to have to get used to calling him "Djarin" instead of "Din" :D
I love it. All the fluff over this makes me 😂. My personal take is that "Din" is a title not a name....
Again, the giant armored crocodile like reptile was not a Dinosaur. Crocodilians are just distantly related
Say what you want about the last episode but that final battle was awesome!
I cant believe ppl seem to hate the Guns for Hire ep so much. Although its mostly filler, I rly liked it and rate it as a top 3 episode. The AotC investigation vibe was great
For the Q&A:
Wild baseless speculation: What if, in a future Mandalorian Wars movie, the New Canon reveals Darth Revan is actually Tarre Vizsla's Sith name?
That would certainly be interesting.
8:20 didn’t they eat one of the birds for the feast?
No, I didn't see any wings on whatever they ate.
I think this season had some great standalone episodes but as a whole season, it's just fine.
You guys love battlestar galactica!? Please do some videos on it please!
Did they eat those 'foundling' birds in the feast at the end of season?
The only thing I can say is:
Bears beets battlestar galactica
I did not recognize Jack Black and have no idea who Lizzo is, thought their characters were delightful.
Wait a minute. Did the baby birds go down with the ship? Or were they left on Navarro and the Din clan now needs to take care of them?
They got eaten at the meeting of the Mandalorians on Navarro.
Does anyone know what happed to din's ib-94 blaster pistol I couldn't tell if he kept it since he got his jetpack back and had the 2 new pistols in his belt
I thought it was great. Idk what people's issue was. Maybe a little to much BoKatan. But I liked her as a character
I loved the season, I don’t care what other’s say.
I loved it also...
I give season 3 an overall grade of C+
My favorite moment in The Mandalorian Season 3:
Moff Gideon: *catches Darksaber*
Bo-Katan: "What?!"
Moff Gideon: "Nice knife!" *breaks it*
The season was not edited to flow like I wanted and the Jack Black episode was the worst one.
