Modern filmakers take note. The lighting, the shadows, the staging, the contrast, the music, the pathos in the dialouge. This is art. Not the pretentious crap that tries to be artsy today. It's great because it was made by talented people.
It is what I tell everyone, and they say you being an actor why are you judging Other actors ahhh maybe because I don’t want to act especially how they do which has nothing to do with the art of acting. Direction as well is great to witness it in its beauty.
This was supposed to be a B movie...but Warner’s found they had a CLASSIC A on its hands...a timeless love story, that will endure as long as people love each other. 👍👍👌
This is a Masterpiece beyond compare....they don't make such legends or simply cannot recreate such movie magic on screen nowadays. Watched Casablanca for the first time some 15-20 years ago, the movie cannot stop haunting me till date.... Cannot stop loving allmost every scene of the movie forever after. This will remain a movie in demand ,in vogue always till there is humanity & love ! Casablanca for Eternity ! 👍❤️💯
I saw the movie e few days ago and it was still upto date! Very romanic together with a suspensful story! Great Acting by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman! Indeed this is a cruciall scene!
The American Film Institute rating the top 100 movie quotes of all time has Casablanca with the most quotes, I think six. Somehow, magic happened, when the filmmakers didn't have hard plan... they sort of winged it with the screenplay.
I have seen this movi 12times always crying,I think that one day I not cry to see it again it is a time that life is no worth to be continued. From one Polish living in UK
When Casbllanca was made it was in the middle of World War II. Indeed, when it was first released November 1942, the Allies were not doing very well. France had fallen, all of Europe was under control of the Nazis, the Philippines had fallen, Singapore had fallen and the Germans had pushed deep into the Soviet Union. North Africa, the axis powers were dominating. When one considers this, the power of the scene is increased. Not only had the screenplay not been finished when they filmed the scene, and therefore it was a story without an ending (as this scene says), the war itself was a story that did not have an ending yet. I think the film is especially powerful because contemporaries saw more than just a romance but a romance set against a backdrop of a real war playing out in real time. War that did not have an ending when the film was made
One of the best compliments I've ever received was from a girl whose fav movie is Casablanca..... she told me, "You're Rick!" Couldn't live up to the legend, but a nice thought.
must watch scene? Must watch movie. Where is a new UltraHD 4k blu ray of this? They did a 4K scan for the original Blu-Ray release. How come there are so few catalog films released on Ultra HD?
No lines for women would ever be written like this again. She respects men and shows humility. Two things you'll never see women show in any movie ever again.
I'm no expert but I read that scenarists decides that they wanna ditch Laszlo and get him arrested and rick and Elsa end up together. It was world war 2 then they decided that the love of two people is less important than history of humanity, so they changed the ending which was poetic but wrong why? che Guevara fought alone , hasta siempre comandante, Mandela ditched his wife so it was better for Laszlo to be alone and let two lovebirds be with each other. I love French women . I don't give a fuck about politics but I did have responsibilities. my dream is to have a boat on La Seine or a villa à LA campaigne with my wives MDR (wife).
The must watch scene in Casablanca is every scene.
Perfect. So true.
My favorite movie of all time.
FACTS!!!!!!
The heart wants what it wants
The dialogue is really sharp. Near perfect screenplay. No big special effects. No big explosions. Just masterful storytelling and great characters.
It was simple, it didn't need any crazy swerves.
I was thinking the same thing. The music compliments it very nicely as well.
paid for and produced by the Us War Dept. so what?
"Or aren't you the kind that tells"
SAVAGE
She fo da streets

The pathos and also the bathos that follows.
They already know. Check out the Batman movie. There’s dark contrast everywhere
@@ramencurry6672 Yeah, but it 's just for a visual. And it's CG to boot. That movie had no story.
Every minute of this film is a "must watch scene". Fabulous movie.

Curtis was a fantastic film director. He has the passion of hungarian people, talent, heart and perfection. Best movie of all time.
I put this video on loop so I can play it again, Sam.
Bogie is such an incredible actor
Its outrageous he never won an oscar for his role in this film
He did not need it, the film stands on its own merits.
This was the greatest of all love stories. Maybe it will come to you.
This movie must be watched on the big screen
I saw the movie e few days ago and it was still upto date! Very romanic together with a suspensful story! Great Acting by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman! Indeed this is a cruciall scene!
My wife and I have watched this movies 8 or 10 times and enjoy it immensely and will for years to come.
How old are you ?
The greatest movie ever made bar none

Simply the greatest movie, ever made a masterpiece.
Meh... you must have never seen _"Dude, Where's My Car"_
@
Yeah, I know. Not that it was my favorite movie, or that Bogey was my favorite actor... but I can definitely see why others feel that way.
There should be a sequel where they meet up again and work in the same supermarket
legit perfection
There may be a eternety of time without seeing, but always remember that first meeting after so long
Renzo Utili very true
Damn. The clip started to a few seconds too late. Her entrance is one of Hollywood's greatest.
I would have loved to live in this era
WWII?
Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo?
@ You and Stalin have a nice day
A rare love(the strongest kind) to let a woman go knowing she'll be better off !
Thank you so much for the subtitles! It helps a lot! Great video, and great scene

I love the music at the end of this scene
This is one of my favourite movie ingrid bergman was so beautiful and talented
...one of my favorite scenes...
The Actors, the story telling, the dialogue, etc…IMO the best picture ever…
It's a great scene, you can feel the tension between them.
I saved my first drink to have with you. Here.
...who was it you left me for?
Was it Laslo, or were there others in between, or aren't you the kind that tells?
Ouch!!!
I love that a line like that can cut so deeply...classic movies didn't need the ridiculous and trite profanity of today's movies
lol.....basically called her a whore
Well, she was it.
She could have saved them both a lot of pain had she told him about her husband when they met.
Auntie Margie if he's dead what difference does it make

Lord almighty, what a scene.
Their chemistry is so on fire how can they dislike each other in real life? 😢
They did?
@@marmite226 yes, I read some articles from internet that he didn’t like her first
