- In this video I am trying a narrated King of the Mat. You have to sweep, pass or submit your opponent to stay in. So you have fresh opponents if you succeed. It's fun and exhausting, as the pace is more competitive than normal rolls.
If you find value in my video's please check out my sponsor Xmartial or you could buy me a coffee in the links below.

You had instructors that hated you? My god, I couldn’t imagine that? You’re a gentleman!!! If you ever come to Melbourne come visit our school 🤙🥋
Yes one day I will make a video about some of my experiences. I know it is hard to comprehend. How you could hate someone who gives you $220 a month. haha. I almost quit BJJ as a 4 stripe purple because I thought I was too old. True story. I consider myself a gentlemen and would love to come to Australia one day!
I love your channel! Your insght, philosophy, and mindset approach to JJ is as remarkable and valuable as your skill which is great! My skill isnt there yet, but I am able to adopt and employ the mindset and philosphies you narrate on these videos. Thank you so much for having this channel
Sorry for the delayed response! Thank you! I love to hear people trying to employ the mindset I am trying to convey. Thank you for the appreciation. Respect to you!
I play guard, I’m just tough to keep down 😊. I’m also a transfer student at purple. Stay consistent. It’s key to natural movements
Oh I didn’t know you transferred!
@@Jitsover50all good brother. Thanks for the roll. 😊
@@nickdell1290 I see an interview in your future!
2:24 really cool sweep
That is my no-gi spider sweep. Thank you!
I like this!
Thank you John! More to come!
Hello again! I just had my 3rd class and i'm struggling with a couple of the basic movements. Specifically I have a bit of trouble getting much explosiveness in my shrimping. I think I have an idea of how to apply the force correctly, but it's still a work in progress. I also have ABSOLUTELY no idea how to backwards roll, it's an incredibly unintuitive motion to me. Do you have any tips on how to practice basic movements like these effectively? Thanks for the content!
The explosiveness comes from your feet pushing off the ground. I think a lot of times we forget that in the early stages. Just remember to lean your head to one side. Don't roll straight back over your neck. Roll over your shoulder. And you are very welcome Nate!
