No, effects apply last. Always. The mistake that it seems like they go fist is when freezing smackback. That is because first it hits, then applies effects , and it's one action. Another action is smackback, but when frozen it does not go.
if effects applied last then it would go hit -> smackback -> frost, since smackback says when hit do X, i guess you can think of it as hit+effect -> smackback, but i feel like the apply and the hit are separate effects, otherwise snoffel's apply would just never happen. the way to test this actually is to put frost on wallop and see if wallop does 4 or 12

@36:22 intresting the indcatior for the efffect even says 15 but it deals the 10 and then they truffle splits into a 3 and 2 and becus the truffle of 3 blows up the truffle with the 2 on it, so the shroom gobler livs with 1 hp insted of kills it. so u can say the mecanic overburn is bug atm becus of timing of updating

33:09 I thought you were wrong here because I saw the first enemy have 10 applied overburn before it died, but you're right - the truffle and puffball both only took 5 damage. Normally I would say the 10 overburn showing up on the enemy is a visual bug, because mechanically that's not what happened, but in this case I think the visuals are correct and the true bug is that overburn procs when the damage is applied, but before the overburn is applied. This makes no sense to me. I think they should apply simultaneously, meaning the enemy explodes with 10 overburn.
You would really put the replace atk with overburn charm on groff instead of hero? I mean, I think there are 2 different thoughts here, barrage lets you setup multikills with a lot of thinking, whereas the multihit lets you multikill if you can hit the front enemy for enough overburn to kill the rest, but why is it better on groff than your barrage hero, in your opinion? I wanna be better at this game, so I'm curious about the decision. What is your train of thought on this decision?
Overburn hits the whole row, so barrage overburn is only good when the enemy hp is different from each other. For example, heart of the storm. 30 overburn in a barrage will kill the whole row, because the backline blows up for 30, then middle, then front.
But for lower hp enemies, just murdering the front line suffices. Also, double groff has the potential to apply 20 overburn every turn if you murder enough summons. I think he was banking on something like the yeti skull or azul skull for ohko sacrifice.
With proper shop gen this tribe is usually offered at least one better sacrifice option than just tar bladeing your chicken
barrage overburn takes a long time to kill things that matter, groff overburn does 20 after blank mask which is enough to kill almost anything
