There is another parallel that reinforces the "son of Joseph" typology. In the Old Testament, Joseph is warned in his dreams, and his dream interpretation helped save the lives, leading the family of Jacob to flee to Egypt. In the Gospel of Matthew, Joseph (the husband of Mary) is warned in his dreams, and this ends up saving the lives of Mary and Jesus, causing them to flee to Egypt. I don't think this is mere coincidence. This seems to me to further reinforce the typology of Jesus being the "son of Joseph".
Since this is not relevant to salvation by pondering the notion of Jesus being suggested as Messiah bin Joseph - another corelation could be as Jesus said forgive them for they know not what they do- ties into Joseph forgiveness for his brothers - I see the similarities in Joseph and Jesus but I choose to bring it back to God's Spirit singling out the faithful which makes one family over direct bloodlines..in other words I prefer the spiritual connection over the physical -(1 John 2:6) that is what The Holy Spirit can accomplish by making connection inside the chosen people and outside ( Gentile) this I think is the Dr.'s point

Absolutely LOVE this series! ❤ Please keep it coming! It makes sense to me that Jesus assumed the role of Messiah son of Joseph in his 1st coming, and the New Testament looks for Him to assume the Messiah son of David at His 2nd coming, at the end of the Tribulation. The topic of Jesus containing all the different DNA is VERY fascinating! It brings to mind the passage in Ezekiel 37:17, where we read of the 2 sticks becoming 1. Could this be a dual prophecy? Can it be fulfilled by Jesus and the reunification of the whole house of Israel?
These three podcasts have just touched my soul. To see how god interweaves this world to save all is astounding and such a comfort. Additionally as a woman it is comforting and vindicating to be recognized through the maternal lineage and so god adds comfort and restoration to the woman. I have listened to these 2 times each and night the books. I would really love to learn about the 12 tribes from one for Israel. God bless you and keep you and let his face shine upon you! Amen
What a fascinating series! As I watched this and they were discussing for Jesus to be both descended from David and Joseph, it would come through his mother Mary, I thought back to Genesis 3:15, when God is expelling Adam and Eve from the garden. Here, God says that there would be "enmity between his seed and hers." Women do not have seed, only men do. But in this unique moment, God makes this extraordinary statement, I believe it is foreshadowing Jesus' birth and lineage through a woman. I am not aware of any other time when anyone made such a statement. I am once again deeply moved to see the extraordinary detail of God's divine plan of redemption to restore all that was lost when sin entered the world. The story of Jesus, son of Joseph, may not be for us Gentiles, but for those of the divided kingdoms of Judah and Israel. Learning this as a Gentile only increases my awe and praise!
Wow. Some amazing things are discussed here. Just when we think we know all there is about Messiah or any thing of God, He has a way of surprising us! Some will reject this as superficial nonsense. God actually enjoys leaving tidbits like these throughout His Word to surprise and excite us. He is so amazing! Thank you for this wonderful discussion.
We have been going through Joseph's story in our study of Genesis. As we talked about similarities between Joseph's life and Jesus', I mentioned that in Joseph's case, his brothers recognized him afar off and plotted to kill him. One of the other ladies brought up this same parable you mention from Jesus, and again the wicked tenants recognized him as the son from afar off. It has changed my perspective on whether or not the rabbis and pharisees in Jesus' day just missed it or whether they knew He was Lord, but they would rather remain as lord themselves rather than bow to Him. They liked having the worship of people. They, unlike John the Immerser, were not willing to become decrease.
Once more Dr. Postell and Dr. Broshi thank you for asking all of the right questions. Reading Dr. Mitchell’s work these are all of the questions I wished I could ask. Thank you! One For Israel 🇮🇱 🙏🏾

I have continued learning throughout my life. My job is to mine the Scriptures and present easily understood and digestible teaching. I’ve made a couple trips to Israel with a close friend who teaches at a seminary and those visits to Israel were incredibly valuable for seeing Scripture in context and making the Scriptures “light up”. I said that to say this, this channel and these videos are tremendously helpful for me in doing what I’m supposed to be doing and they are also very helpful for my personal relationship with Almighty God. Thank You! 👍🏻

This series is amazing! I bought the book because I've always sensed the Messiah ben Joesph thread was in scripture but underplayed. These comments also sheds light on the strained relations between Galileans and Judeans (John 1:46 - Can anything good come out of Nazareth?) It makes me wonder if Israel in 1948 could have been called Judea.
In a way maybe the name of Israel is prophetic, where it's not only for the Jews, but also for those living in it, with the Samaritans (who are still living), the Arabs, etc., uniting to be the "new Israel" under Jesus.
This has been an amazing series. I have really enjoyed it! Fun apologetics challenge looking back and forth at all these passages thinking critically at who is who and determining no I am quite sure they are talking about THE MESSIAH. Much like the evening and the morning being summed up to one day how amazing this picture of four images of salvation is our lord. He fills the needs of so many. Hope to have David Mitchell back soon!
I’m really mind blown here and there’s so much to unpack and discuss I can feel that I’ve only reached the tip of the iceberg so to speak of understanding all you’re saying here. Please continue on this topic to a deeper level, bc it’s fascinating. Love this channel!
My first Word from God was from my ER instructor, as a nursing student, a Messianic Jew and the Word was from Isaiah 61 I think 🧐 but I found it in Luke 4:18-20 later and was so excited 😆
This is next level, Dr. Michael Brown himself will find this information new (I've never heard him speak on these things). This is mind blowing to any Jewish scholar to learn that the "Son of Joseph" is as important and biblical to both the OT and the NT, thank you God for your amazing word and how Jesus perfectly fulfills the true expectation of the Messiah!
John also refers to Jesus in Zechariah 11:11 “…..And the poor of the flock that *kept MY WORD* knew this, that it was *THE WORD of the Lord”* John 10:27 My sheep *listen to MY VOICE* ; I know them, and *they follow* John 14:23 “If anyone loves Me, he will *keep MY WORD”*
I don’t believe that Jesus in Matthew 22:45 was saying he wasn’t Messiah Son of David, or even that He wasn’t ready to be called that. His point was that Messiah would be God. Not just a man.
You may have miss the point, as the emphasis in this video about Joseph. He is the son of David, but he refers himself as Son of Man. The point in the video is that Jesus does not refer to himself in the Gospels as son of David …so that the Ephraim Expectation for the messiah of Joseph , they could see Jesus as fulfilment . And as for your passage you cited....read many many times...did he call himself son of David? And furthermore, he is the son of David but is he the Son of David? Did you not get that "vibe " ... Jesus is saying "Really , I am the son of David?"Think really carefully about the passage! Which anyway you have kind of pointed out anyway
@@celsacamporedondo9573 you will not be suited to talk to the Jews. You don’t understand what the people above are talking about. One for Israel primary mission are for the Jews. Thus the messianic prophecies include the understanding of son of Joseph. If you study the verses, you will see it yourself. I myself have seen something about the blessings for Joseph before but I don’t understand it all, my understanding is quite simple …and the foreshadows for Joseph as the type of Jesus in the first coming is very strong, and not as David like King. They were all shouting Hosanna, son of David but he did not meet their expectations. Read the scriptures as they have cited and check it out for yourself. He is saying the rabbis have done it for thousands of years ago and made the case for son of Joseph as the messiah ( one of). Do a Google search and read the Jewish websites. So if you want to evangelise to them …. You work through the Scriptures like what The Bereans did as recorded in Acts. You search the scriptures.
@@celsacamporedondo9573You may have to go back and watch the first video of this series. This is video #3 of the series. He connects how the Lord Jesus also had a lineage connection to Joseph, the one sold into slavery by his brothers.
Also Genesis 3:15-It was promised through the seed of the woman. I ordered the book. It is coming tomorrow. Should be a wonderful read and study. Thank you for bringing this to us. I will share with my friends.
Beautifully mapped out! YesAnyone who identified Christ as the Promised One in many of the Biblical Varied ways to Him, Christ always held that it was His Father in heaven whom gave the inspiration. 🎉 It always came from The Holy Spirit!! As God Was Walking Upon His Earth With His Creation from every Tongue and Tribe!
This is the 1st I've heard of Messiah ben Joseph, amazing and fantastic. As a new teaching I proceed with caution. But today, reading Zechariah 12 -14 in David Stern's Complete Jewish Study Bible pg 887 the Messianic Prophecy, The Return of Messiah, in the last paragraph the commentary speaks of two Messiahs, one who would reign on David's throne and one who would suffer and die. The suffering Messiah was called Son of Yosef after Biblical Yosef who suffered even though he was innocent. With this I am more settled, I now have a second witness of this new teaching and extend many thanks to One for Israel for bringing us ever closer to knowing our Messiah. Thank you and Shalom.
Be cautious here though , Jesus told the Samaritan woman that salvation is of the Jews . Jesus was the Lion of Judah , not an Ephraimite. Paul also refers to Jesus as a priest according to the order of melchizzidech in which Jesus is not of an earthly priesthood
Just amazing! Thank you so much for bringing us this teaching. I wonder if this is the fresh revelation we were promised in these last days. God Bless you all~
What a wonderful blessing to receive this light of further knowledge while watching this on the last night of Hanukkah. Jesus/Yeshua is the holy Messiah of that there can be no doubt. Not that I had any but still wow. Thank you and God bless
The lineage of Jesus has to be shown through “Miriam” because of his virgin birth via The Holy Spirit!!! There is no other way around this fact. Reared a Gentile Christian, and at 66 I’m finally seeing this! God bless you for sharing this important word with us.
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤Ezekiel 37:19,24 take the stick of Joseph... I will join with it the stick of Judah, and make them one stick ...there will be one shepherd Messiah ben Jospeh Messiah ben David ARE ONE
This study is amazing. I think this could be explored as well, since number three is so intrinsic in the Scriptures. "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12). He is the Messiah the Seed of the woman (Genesis 3:15) all descendants of Eve, therefore the whole human race. He is the Messiah Son of Joseph (John 4) as presented in this study; He is the Messiah Son of David (Revelation 22:16).
How wonderful! Our Messiah is Son of God by the power of the Holy Spirit, and through his mother's lineage; Son of Aaron, (priest) and Joseph and David (King). God knows the end from the beginning and tell us, if we dig for the hidden treasure in His Word. Thanks to you all; 3 "wise men" 😊😊 From the ends of the earth I will Praise Him
This presentation is an absolute game changer. It ties the Northern Kingdom to the Southern Kingdom. It ties types of Messiahs and DNA Messiahs into one Jesus! He really is the Savior of all! All the scriptures of Ephraim and Judah make sense to me. The stick of Joseph and the stick of Judah being one in thy hand is Jesus! Ephraim is to gather in the latter days. Christ told his Apostles in Galilee, Go ye into all the world and preach my Gospel. Christ's apostle must have been mostly Ephraimites to be able to go into all the world? Wow. The dots are connecting!
Wow! For years I have been wondering why Messiah would come from Judah when Joseph was a better candidate, this blows my mind! He could be from both Judah and Joseph!!!
This is fantastic, mind blown, and at the same time, it is a resolution of so much in my brain I saw Ruth coming in as bringing in the gentiles to salvation, this so much bigger than my brain could imagine now it seems clear.
Bravo 👏 excellent talk from a gentile believer. Jesus bringing Messianic Jews and gentile believers together proves (to me) that He is the King of Israel.
Yasu Al Masih Nasiri ❤❤❤ Real True One ND only Messiah for all kind of human.. Wow that's Awesome Amazing 😍 Look to new Type of Jesus Christ Superstar of all nations .🎉
Gentleman. Another point about Yeshua being a son of Joseph has been looked at in some translation of the genealogy. Matthew 1:16 - “And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. “ There are several manuscripts of this passage which read : ‘Joseph the father of Mary’. Apparently it is a matter of one letter in the Hebrew that changes from husband to father. Yes. Mary’s husband was Joseph, but her father was also named Joseph. Where that fits into this, I’m not sure yet. It is something that has been found in recent years, so it’s worth noting.
This is the way I see it: 1- "Jeshua the Son of Joseph" means the way locals recognize him, as they refer to his father Joseph here on Earth. 2- Jeshua the Son of David" represents the root of his lineage according to the prophecy. 3- "Jeshua the Son of God" represents his truest and heavenly identity.
I love this I needed this info. so he was Joseph's son, and so was Judah and David....even though we split...and fell away...in sin..he never says or claims he is the son of David...very clear there...
John also refers to Jesus in Zechariah 11:11 “…..And the poor of the flock that *kept MY WORD* knew this, that it was *THE WORD of the Lord”* John 10:27 My sheep *listen to MY VOICE* ; I know them, and *they follow*
We're studying John's gospel in BSF this year, and this is really great (and we studied the divided kingdom last year), although if John was writing to Galilean Jews, how could he have been doing so from so far away in Greece, as he spent much of his later life in Ephesus and then on Patmos? Also (an edit from earlier), God said the "woman's seed" would crush the serpent's head!
He told me to read “Luke” the healer. My pastor’s wife thought 💭 tHIS was odd, but in her office during tHIS conversation I was drawn to a book 📖 called, “Son of Man” and it was the book 📕 of Luke. Later someone told me Luke walked with Mary and may have been her personal physician.

Amazing series. Each episode brings interesting insight to historical context.
I lead the adult small group study at my church. I have some formal Bible and Theology training (BA), but that rally just gave me the basic tools for sound, lifelong study. Thank You! 👍🏻

Thanks I’m pretty familiar with many of the textual resources for studying the Scriptures. I think context is an important tool for correct interpretation so I’m always researching l, including on-site visits
@@josemoody1743 Indeed! 🥴
@@josemoody1743Does it? I disagree that understanding the Holy Bible requires knowledge of any language besides English.
No words here. Great is our Messiah, Jesus, the only One!
Thanks so much for this series!!!! Praise Hashem for ever!!! Yeshua our Lord and Savior
Great discussion about how the loose ends are brought together in the One true Messiah. Mic drops and eyebrow explosions galore! Wow!
Replayed this four times today.
This is the best series you guys have done. WOW. ❤
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44 KJV) 🙏🏽❤️🙌🏾💯
Fascinating series with Dr David Gill. Hopefully there is a 4th episode..
It's amazing and really good news for all nations. These words are believable. God is good. His name is forever. Amen 🙏
This series is so exciting!
I’m really mind blown here and there’s so much to unpack and discuss I can feel that I’ve only reached the tip of the iceberg so to speak of understanding all you’re saying here. Please continue on this topic to a deeper level, bc it’s fascinating. Love this channel!
Best series so far, apart from that of the testimonies ❤ keep it coming please in keeping with the Parashot
Absolutely amazing!!! We’ve been studying these ; typologies for a bit now!!! So good to see it come to light to lord! May Yeshua light the world!!! ❤
This is a most excellent teaching. Thank you One for Israel!
Shalom for Israel in Jesus Christ name ♥️
Me and my house hold stand with the people of Israel
_AND THE LORD DIRECT YOUR HEARTS INTO THE LOVE OF GOD, AND INTO THE PATIENT WAITING FOR CHRIST._
2 Thessalonians 3:5
My first Word from God was from my ER instructor, as a nursing student, a Messianic Jew and the Word was from Isaiah 61 I think 🧐 but I found it in Luke 4:18-20 later and was so excited 😆
Such amazing teaching! I get the book tomorrow. I can’t wait!
Amazing series. I can't wait for more
again praise LORD great session; jesus bring all around him , great session
This is next level, Dr. Michael Brown himself will find this information new (I've never heard him speak on these things). This is mind blowing to any Jewish scholar to learn that the "Son of Joseph" is as important and biblical to both the OT and the NT, thank you God for your amazing word and how Jesus perfectly fulfills the true expectation of the Messiah!
Beautiful teachings of the Word of God. Thank you men of God.
"and KNOWLEDGE shall increase"
Fantastic episode. I now have Dr. Mitchell’s book and look forward to studying it! TY OFI! Shalom.
John also refers to Jesus in Zechariah 11:11 “…..And the poor of the flock that *kept MY WORD* knew this, that it was
*THE WORD of the Lord”*
John 10:27 My sheep
*listen to MY VOICE* ; I know them, and *they follow*
John 14:23
“If anyone loves Me, he will
*keep MY WORD”*
“Explosion to the eyebrows”.
I love it!!
Wow!!! Glory to God in the highest!!!
MIC DROP! Amazing. Thank you for this episode!
Thank you, for this session. We must remember that Yisroel (Ya'akov) was the link as well.
Jesus is the Messiah , he is not a Son of Joseph

Wow, so interesting!! Thank you all.
Beautifully mapped out! YesAnyone who identified Christ as the Promised One in many of the Biblical Varied ways to Him, Christ always held that it was His Father in heaven whom gave the inspiration. 🎉
It always came from The Holy Spirit!! As God Was Walking Upon His Earth With His Creation from every Tongue and Tribe!
I've been looking forward to this!
God Bless you all~
The best on youtube. One for Israel.
My eyebrows literally exploded when you mentioned the Samaritan messiah!
This is so good - thank you. I could listen to you brothers ad infinitum...🙂
Absolutely stunning presentation - Thanks very much Dr's for all the details - Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech HaOlam
Loving this series
He then told me, I too, was a Descendant of David and we are the bridge 🌉 to fill the gap ❤ I love Psalms and He knew that would light my heart ❤️🔥🙏
I will join with it the stick of Judah, and make them one stick ...there will be one shepherd
Messiah ben Jospeh
Messiah ben David
ARE ONE
Great debate, thank you.
Thank you for words of Wisdom ❤❤❤
Thanks to you all; 3 "wise men" 😊😊 From the ends of the earth I will Praise Him
Fascinating insights! I would love to hear his thoughts on Jesus being called a Nazarene since this prophecy is difficult to find in the Tanakh
our lord YAHWEH called him my beloved son
Absolutely astounding.
I've grown to believe that Matt22:45 was not only referencing his humanity but also his divinity. David calls him Lord because he IS Lord!
Shalom and may God bless you 💝🙏💝🙏💝🙏💝
This presentation is an absolute game changer.
💜I’m in love! Hallelujah all Glory to Jesus ! 💜
Always blow my mind!! Love you guys
Wow! For years I have been wondering why Messiah would come from Judah when Joseph was a better candidate, this blows my mind! He could be from both Judah and Joseph!!!
I got the Holy Spirit at “The Well” and He restored my Faith right after seeing videos on U boob saying He never existed…
I’m blown away! Thank you!!!!
There are several manuscripts of this passage which read : ‘Joseph the father of Mary’.
Apparently it is a matter of one letter in the Hebrew that changes from husband to father.
Yes. Mary’s husband was Joseph, but her father was also named Joseph.
Where that fits into this, I’m not sure yet. It is something that has been found in recent years, so it’s worth noting.
You earned a new sub! Just very interesting ideas here!
Wow this was a real gobsmacker of an episode!
This is the way I see it:
1- "Jeshua the Son of Joseph" means the way locals recognize him, as they refer to his father Joseph here on Earth.
John also refers to Jesus in Zechariah 11:11 “…..And the poor of the flock that *kept MY WORD* knew this, that it was
*THE WORD of the Lord”*
John 10:27 My sheep
*listen to MY VOICE* ; I know them, and *they follow*
We're studying John's gospel in BSF this year, and this is really great (and we studied the divided kingdom last year), although if John was writing to Galilean Jews, how could he have been doing so from so far away in Greece, as he spent much of his later life in Ephesus and then on Patmos? Also (an edit from earlier), God said the "woman's seed" would crush the serpent's head!
Love you guys
He told me to read “Luke” the healer.
My pastor’s wife thought 💭 tHIS was odd, but in her office during tHIS conversation I was drawn to a book 📖 called, “Son of Man” and it was the book 📕 of Luke.
Later someone told me Luke walked with Mary and may have been her personal physician.
