    The crew was pretty happy with this run. 51 mph was reached, just short of our planned goal of 60 mph! This festival was a week of first for our crew. 10 consecutive days in a row under steam, reached the highest speeds with a revenue earning train since the new river days, and crossed the mighty Missisippi River for the first time ever in 765's life!

    Looks like you had the people filter on through most of this except that one clip where Bud Bundy comes in from the left. Nice job!

    The Amtrak units were there only to provide head end power (HEP) electricity to the passenger cars.

    @Kleman09 Where did you guys get to hit 51? Very cool that you got to do such a milestone of taking her across the big muddy! Hopefully the Quads will do this again as I missed it.Kudos to a GREAT show!

    whats with the Amtrak cars/engines behind the engine??

  • @TheGingerBuff
    @TheGingerBuff  12 років тому

    Most of them are. Some are from Mid America Railcar Leasing, and one is the Rio Grande Scenic's full dome.

    @Tedeboy999 Yeah, I lucked out on not having a boatload of people in my shot. Just ended up at the places where photo line courtesy was there for the most part.

    @nkp765ful IMO this was better than her Owosso runs. I rode one of those trips and we did about 30mph max, I believe. It was pretty awesome pacing her at 50+ along Route 6...

    I remember when it, and many others, ran through Hegewisch, my neighborhood in freight service, but not quite as clean and shiny. The only thing is that it looks naked without the Mars light.

    I was a kid in the days of the great steam engines.There were great names to some trains, the Burlington Zepher, the Super Chief, the Orange Blossom Special. The passenger train that
    came through our little town was called The Flying Crow. I was so ashamed.
