Had to stop the video for a second to say this: I love the route your channel took! I think in today's time and the 'scandals' about other family youtubers and the filming of children in general... It might be better, that your children are less on video and not the main part of this channel! Don't get me wrong, I love Gaines and brooks and I have been here since Gaines was about 1! But I do understand the criticism a lot of family vloggers face at the moment and do think that children should not have a camera in their face 24/7 (obviously exaggerated).
I also love to listen to you two talk! :) just a thing I thought, while watching the videos about your debt etc.

If you had sold your house back then, look at the lessons you would have missed out on learning. Now, You can move forward with knowing what you truly need and want. Praying it sells fast this time because I think y’all are ready! Don’t forget to just breath! Put the house on the market and take your pets and go to the beach house for a month.

I hope this CRAZY sellers market is in your favor this time. I know here in the North East houses are not lasting more than 24 hours. We refinanced our mortgage, and the company said they have 48 closings already for the month of July.

We’re in NC and made 8 offers before we found our house - we were beat every time! We actually lost our house too, but the best offer lost their job the day after decision was made. This market is CRAZY

@@Loganm0213 I agree. I am so tired of just missing every house. We go in and then find out there is an offer and 4 backups. We live in upstate NY. We sold our house and now NEED to find a place to be out by August. It is so stressful and crazy. Right now, everything (I mean every.single.house. is pending in our area. I don't know what we are going to do. Rentals are even ridiculous)

Man I completely feel for y’all. We put our house up for sale the last week in May and we closed the first week in July. So yes, it didn’t take a long time BUT it was also in a way cheaper price bracket but I can relate to the having all the questions, fears, the unknowns, all the above AND having to keep it spotless with two littles at the same time. Y’all are doing such an amazing job and I’m so proud of y’all! Many prayers to y’all ❤️.

I like the curtains in between. I SO relate to your house selling process. We had ours on the market for over a year. Switched between 3 different realtors. Dropped price. Made updates. Repainted whole house. Nothing was working and we were so frustrated. Finally what was the secret weapon was the price. As much as we wanted to make a certain profit....it just wasn’t realistic. In the end, we decided it was worth making less off the less for our sanity and being able to move on with our life. We waited until we had a contract on our home before seriously looking for our new home. We took the time while house was listed to narrow down our target area so we’d be ready. It all worked out and yours will too!! Hang in there!!

Y'all have done a great job with your house - should be very proud! And yes, selling a home is stressful, and I would agree that either the packing/unpacking process is almost as difficult as the selling part--it took us three tries (2012, 2013, and 2014) to sell our house. The next time we plan to do it will be our last, when we retire, and we do not plan to purchase another home in our lifetime. Sending positive vibes your way!

I’m not sure how I’d feel if I’d been a subscriber for years as I’ve only been here a short while and I’m so proud of you guys. I’m glad you’ve realized that home is where your family is ❤️ the size of it doesn’t matter and most of us can do with so much less than we have. It's interesting what people notice. I never noticed your bedroom curtains. However, the fixtures and hardware not all being the same color and finish within a room and throughout the house always jumps out at me as something I would want to change if I was buying. Everyone is different. I think the changes you all have made are lovely. Great work.

All of these updates and happy moments are showing you what to look for in a house moving forward. Just moving from place to place because we are unhappy leaves us grabbing at whatever we THINK will bring us happiness. You are now finding your happiness and in a better place to KNOW where to find it moving forward. So proud of your hard work & thankful you have shared with us. I'm praying that things go smoother and it's not as stressful as last time. Your house looks great! Just prepare yourselves for the process and "make the best of it"(if that's even possible). I can tell you firsthand how stressful selling/buying a new house can be. But I will also say that hindsight always shows you that everything happens in due time. We went through some crazy nights thinking “why is this happening?” But it all turned out exactly how it had to. May I make the suggestion that as you prep to make house sellable you also start packing all the stuff you aren’t using because your time is coming and it will be a huge relief to have it all done and ready to go! 😃😃😃

I am new to you station. I know it is stressful to putting a home up for sale. I did so a couple of years ago after my husband passed. We lived in our home for 45 years. I still have more to rid of in my basement. I had no idea how much it would cost just to get the house in shape to sell and we did maintain it. I wish you the best. Just pray, pray pray and think positive. You will sell that house and find the home you are meant to have for many years to come.

hi, Katie. So we are kind of in the same situation about selling... but we are downsizing. Our current house is big. but we are young seniors. my husband lost his retirement savings in the stock market at the beginning of the quarantine. i was laid off. So now finally, the house sold but we can't find anything we can afford. we finally settled on a place but when we went back to see it again, we realized it was just too small. It is a whole long story but I can't live on top of my husband (I recently remarried after 20 years with my first and 12 years on my own. Giving up space is hard when you don't want to always be together. I am glad you both have each other and are happy. I have moved so many times with my ex for his job and this is one of the hardest and I don't care about the house (it was his and I moved here 2 years ago). But it is stressful. I want to scream and cry. You will be ok. You take care of each other and your adorable kids. Because that is what matters, not where you are. I loved my little house that had no closets but it was cozy and home for my kids. and it was perfect. this house is big and has tons of room but it isn't home. Good luck to you!!

In between windows. I can relate to the tears. I had to sell my house of 18 years because financially I just couldn't afford the plethoria of repairs that needed to be done. Also I needed to move on from the situation of my husband leaving me. The realization that he wasn't going to change, he would continue seeking one woman after another and telling me that he didn't love me all the time that I was begging him to come back and work on the marriage. My finances just kept getting worse and worse and worse. It was when I discovered that I had coyotes living under my house and in the bushes because I couldn't afford the landscaping that I decided I just couldn't continue. The sad part is that my dad was the one who helped me find the house. My dad has been dead for 10 years and leaving was hard. But I have a place that I can afford to upkeep and I have money for food and gas now.

I suppose that Zillow article explains my dang near meltdown. I was in the middle of a divorce, my ex was in rehab so I had to single handedly prepare the house to go on the market, find somewhere to move, then actually go thru the move on my own. (Kids were in college and not available to help). Watching these moving videos gives me anxiety for you!

Hey, not sure if you read this! But here in the U.K. we actually put the extra bits away - in the garage boxed up or in storage! To dress a house ready for selling. Ie when a buyer comes in and looks in the cabinets and there full, they’ll think there isn’t much storage! Yet if you box up the spare cups, chopping boards baking space, it tricks the buyer brain into thinking there’s plenty off space. Good luck with your open house xx

Here where we live, few houses are for sale. My daughter’s house sold before put on market. I think the realtor probably pushed too fast because so few houses are for sale that houses are having bidding wars. Prices are very high for this area. Every time my daughter finds a house, it has several bids right away.

Selling your house is crazy stressful. My husband took a job in July of last year and has to commute an hour each way to work. We were going to move closer to his office after we graduated our youngest daughter from high school, but COVID has had him working from home for months. I'm not about to sell a house until I know for sure that he'll have to start spending two hours each day commuting again. I should also mention that we've moved twice in the last six years. The last home sale about killed me because our first buyers were awful. They finally backed out and then we had to re-list. This is the stuff of nightmares.

I love what you said at the end about what God told you. Lean into that. Continue to trust him and learn and I know this next time God will see you through it! ❤️

You guys have come so far and done some amazing healing. Sometimes, for me it is hard when I feel that I should be doing something in a certain time frame and God asks me to wait for His timing. I pray you have peace during this process. 🙏💜🙏💜

I feel for you. I spent 9 months alone trying to sell a house in the DC suburbs at the height of the ugliness in 2009. I had 2 showings the whole time but managed to make a small profit. Fast forward this February- listed and sold in 6 weeks with 2 offers at a small profit - in Montana winter! It all seems to boil down to what your particular LOCAL market is doing and it WILL work out for you🥰

I don’t think y’all will ever see this, BUT I just wanted to say this new venture of trying to sell feels anointed. I don’t know how to explain it, but when Katie mentioned her encounter with the Lord, chills washed over me. Y’all are gonna get through it, and when you look back you’ll see God in every moment good or bad. Bless you four, and may 2020 be prosperous. 💛

I feel your pain. We listed our house In June and had a contract within two weeks. Now the wait to get to settlement the end of August. We had already secured a rental and we are in the process of cleaning and getting it ready to move into. We are down sizing and getting free of our mortgage. The house was too big and too expensive. We plan on renting for two years while we finish paying off debt and save money to move to Florida. Praying your house goes quickly. I can’t wait to see our mortgage balance disappear. Our rent will be less than our mortgage so we can speed up our debt snowball. Selling a house is the most stressful event in your life. I don’t ever want to have to do this again.

We just sold our house. After it went live, I couldn’t eat for 5 days straight. I was vomiting from the insane amount of stress. I totally believe than survey! I’m so lucky it sold when it did. Just thinking about the showings now leaves me feeling queasy 🥴
