I first lived in Bremerton in March, 1989. My dad was in the Navy and received orders there. From 1989 until 2011 I lived in Bremerton, fell in love with Bremerton, and Washington in general, and will always consider it home. I even joined the Navy and got order to Bremerton on 2 different occasions. Huge Navy town, cozy, wet, cold, and homely. I live in Southern California now, but wouldn't mind moving back to Bremerton to retire for good. Great video.
I lived in Bremerton for a while I loved it! My mom at the time had a restaurant called Paul Bunyan's restaurant in Chico Washington before she passed away! I lived on Bell Park drive when I was in Bremerton! I went to Bremerton elementary School and I went to Dewey Junior high when it was there! Then I went to West high School for one year after my mom passed away and I lived with foster parents in Silverdale Washington where I went to ckhs high school
I hope sometime in the future to get to be able to visit Bremerton again I don't know what it looks like now, but I'm curious to find out! I also stayed at the YMCA close to the shipyard when I was a teen getting away from a abusive foster parent! I don't know what's there now I wonder if the Puget sound ferry is still running in Bremerton? When I was a kid we used to go to Seattle on it!
@@Caleb_Guffey I appreciate that bro that's awesome to know I'd like to get back to Washington to visit sometime in the future hopefully see how different Bremerton is
How would you feel if the Fort you enlisted at with your father and mother but couldn't prove it because dad is dead and a restraining order on mom. Sgt. Audie Murphy doesn't have anything on me. R.I.P. Mike.
And when I was a teenager I was in the Navy's high school program when I went to school in Silverdale and that was at the Puget sound naval shipyard that was quite an experience an introductory into the Navy! Following in my brother's footsteps David who was in the Navy and the coast guard!
Having lived in "B-town" twice over the last forty-two years, I can say it's o.k.: just don't eat anything out of Sinclair Inlet, The Navy has not treated that water very good since 1892.
So y’all just gonna pretend that locals care about any of those downtown spots? Try Hi-los on the west or Island Kitchen then go to the Boat Shed in Manette. . . Visit the deli at Evergreen state park. Downtown Bremerton is NOT the place we go unless it’s to South Pacific or Bremerton bar and grill
After begging my father Mike continuously, he finally let me enlist at Ft. Bremerton @ 13 years old.

I was living there 93, 94, 95 & 96. Made a lot of great friends there. We're still in touch today. Great memories.
I lived in Bremerton 85-86 while serving on LHA-3. Loved the small town feel and cruising our cars on Pacific Ave.
The Army and Sgt Murphy. So happy to enlist with my adoptive father Michael Lawler. R.I.P.
Lived in Bremerton from 1987 to 1993, certainly has changed.

Yup the ferry is still running in fact they made some MAJOR updates to the ferry system along with the Seattle ferry terminal.

Could you tell me what are the good and bad areas of Bremerton? Is downtown Bremerton a safe place to live?
@@zehuazhou3390 Downtown gets kinda ghetto at night but it’s definitely a beautiful place.
The volcano fountain park is really pretty next to the ferry terminal.
Love Bremerton!
