In this match Grebinnikov made one of the best digs i have ever seen. He ran from 5 to get a tip from 1 and kept it in play. It was absolutely insane. And the commentators where silent the entier time, Wth.
@@Uwu____f on a flight recently I watched the finale of the 21/22 Korean V-League. The commentators were sooooo much better than on any volleyballworld stream I've ever seen. They knew things about the players, they knew the game well and they had such a good and fun energy. I felt like I knew the commentators a little bit after the game. Also a hell of a match that finale btw. Keita (who plays in the super liga for Verona now) scored a record breaking 66 points during the match, absolutely incredible.
Thank you Sensei for another enjoyable lesson. I came across Volleyball Japan vs USA 1:3 - FULL Friendly Match 2021 last week and finally watched it through to the end. I always enjoy watching Japan's coverage, blocking stratagies, and serve reception. It looks like your brother was setting for the match.
Erik you must watch the Tokyo CEV qualification match between Turkey and Poland. Its the most excited match Ive ever watch especially the 4th set is incredible. Id love to see your reaction to that match
I grew up in France during the 80s and a popular Japanese Anime named "Attacker You" was one of my favorite cartoons. I became interested in volley ball because of that show. But never got to play it. My family and I moved to the US (Seattle area) in 1991 and became a NBA/Chicago Bulls fan. In 2024 I became interested in volleyball again as a spectator fan. But I noticed that volleyball is a sport that is almost strictly practiced by girls in the US. I am surprised that the men's national volleyball team could yield a team. How do boys/men get to play volleyball?

Erik can you make a video about the match between USA and Turkey at wch. As a Turk its exciting to see our men's team can compete at this level. You beat us but USA such a strong team and I think winning 2 sets was a succes
If the setter just set the ball instead of going for the spike, it would have been okay. Libero didn't do anything wrong, so it must have been frustrating to watch helplessly as your teammate makes this error. I guess forearm pass from libero is just safer option. What's your take on that, Erik?
I think in that moment it was a reaction thing and it’s ok that he set the ball with his hands. If he was aware of it he could have screamed at the setter to not spike but it was very loud in there.
@@ErikShojivolleyball Thanks. If you are in the same spot, do you ever think which type of pass to use, since you don't know for 100% what might happen? Or is there no time to analyze the risk really?
It really just depends on the situation… if the ball is coming fast or not or if you have time to move. I’m not exactly sure what I would have if it was just a reaction then probably set it like he did.
@@ErikShojivolleyball With setters like Gianelli, Maa or Pająk the risk is surely higher. I'm not sure about Micah Christenson, but Marcin Janusz is not the type to spike a lot so it might not be costly. ;) Looking forward to seeing live the wins against Trento and Resovia.
@@soul_king_5357 If u think the French team is the best atm your just wrong because Italy litterly beat them and won the championship. France was number 1 in 2021.

Commentators are almost all completely terrible for volleyball. They have no idea what they are talking about or don’t bring any hype.
