Never.....never doubt this girl, she's the best. And all you people who say she doesn't play defense...time to close your yappers. She always has played it and it shone bright in this game. She is the catalyst that makes this team go. The fire started tonight with the play where she got the technical. Staying healthy, she will be unstoppable!

I agree and just posted to that effect: when Paige hooked and slammed her opponent, drawing the T, the entire game changed. I especially didn’t mind Paige being overly aggressive because the play occurred right in front of me and MD should have been called over the back. Paige took matters into her own hands.

PB is back so motivated. Gonna prove she's the best in the country. I love Caitlin to but as of right now she's having trouble with her shot. Iowa realizes on her to much, her team mates afraid to shoot. PG's team is steping up so Page doesn't have to do it all. She's a beast! Go Paige!!!

These highlights miss the turning point of the game. Paige got (inadvertently) punched in the eye. When she re-entered the game, she promptly got tangled up in a rebound. An over the back should have been called on MD, but wasn’t; skinny Paige consequently hooked her rebounding opponent, and slammed her to the floor, drawing a Technical Foul. Big message sent. The whole team exploded after that play, including Paige. Those of you who thing Paige is merely skilled should have seen her tonight. Tough as nails.

Paige can't do what she does w/o the other four players on the floor. Diana couldn't do it w/o Sue.
That's the way it is. In CT there is no "I" in the word team. But, what people should know about Paige is that she is an amazing human being. She understands her role on the TEAM and she doesn't try to get attention by what she does. As a long time CT resident and UCONN fan, I don't think I've ever seen a player like her here before. She's in a class by herself and she got better at UCONN because of the coaching staff, the facilities and the basketball culture that we have here in CT. Today, at the XL Center in Hartford 15,000 fans showed upl The last two games had a total of 22,000 fans in attendance. And, and, there are probably millions at home watching on tv. We love our men's and women's teams...and when the men won the National Championship last year, 42,000 people attended the celebration parade!
There was even a bus with our women's team! What we have here in CT is unique and maybe that's because we're a small State? Or is it because for decades we have had the best basketball teams ever?

Uconn' lack of size will hurt them against big teams. They have a 6'5 Deberry who in her junior season still cant get into the rotation. Even on a team that desperately needs her size. Not good. However they have Paige who is a special talent. There aren't too many teams with a roster this talented so they'll be fine. They have to stay healthy, Azzi?....uggh

  • @giftcardbill

My only concern, and I believe Geno touched on it. I believe it was after the NC state upset of UCONN. The team should not play different because Paige is back and playing. I call it the Caitlin Clark syndrome, which means everyone one else on the team has a tendency to stand around to some degree watching Paige. Big mistake. I'm sure Paige would agree.

Nudged her a bit? You can see Paige legs are straight up and down when she leaves her feet. And then the “nudge”, and then you can see her legs 20 degrees to the side. It was plenty of a nudge to make it so she couldn’t get her feet under her in time to not fall.

Maryland was really good last year. And since you obviously DON’T KNOW, coaches pretty much make these schedules about a year in advance. Meaning, Geno probably already has 80% of their 2024-2025 season scheduled already. I wish ppl would educate themselves before posting their ignorance online.

dumbest, most blatantly wrong comment I've seen in a while. Paige played through ALL contact tonight and finished all but once. Clark rarely finishes, she's always bailed out by the refs. Morover, Clark
always drives right and tries to finish the same way, zero versatility. She's touted as a great shooter, but her stats don't support that at all. She's a career 42% fg, which about 11% lower than Paige, and she shoots 37% from 3( meh), 7% lower than Paige. Paige is 5x better passer, 10x better on D, and the most clutch performer since Taurasi. Don't ever compare Clark to her, that's pathetic and wildly uninformed
