    Apologies for the audio being so loud. I must have had my headphones at home turned too low. Anyway thanks for not being mad at me.

      I watched all of that while packing for a three day work trip. My neighbors must hate bucket and chip trucks by now....🤪

    Great review Casey. Going to buy a rapide soon to replace my philosh pulley. Luv your man cave,you should do a video of all your climbing equipment. I'm just new at rec.tree climbing and luv all the new gear out there. Climb smart and climb safe .

      Awesome man! I like the Phlotich too, but you just can't beat the Rapide. I think it's even better than the new Eccentric. If you ever have any questions on gear feel free to send me a message man! Climb on!

    I use the Rigger w/ Beckett and put the eye of the rope side carabiner on the Beckett and one the three hole side I use the top for my hitch and bottom as saddle attachment leaving the middle open for a lanyard attachment, second climb line etc. I have not experienced any problems with this way of setting up and have found it to be even more convenient then the normal hitch climber because of the added options. Everyone likes options right.

    Have you heard about that guy with the strongest mechanical device that's mechanical in the world?

  • @NicholasBrown
    @NicholasBrown 3 роки тому

    Do you believe the bushing version could be easier to maintain as compared to ball bearings?
    I am worried that ball bearings are normally sensitive to contamination. Bearings often use a seal but these are not always water tight we’re dust and dirt can trash a bearing quickly.
    When a bearing goes bad, you must buy a new one and I assume these bearings are pressed into the pulley? Thank you for your reviews, fun editing and sharing your experiences.

    Very detailed video, I mainly climb mechanicals now, but that hitchclimber is getting a run this year. Do a video about the chicane you will get views, Plus I'm interested to hear your opinion on it. Have a good 2020 man climb safe 👊

    Didn’t someone’s testing find out that most efficiency loss in pulleys comes from smaller radius of the rope turning. In other words, identical bearings but larger diameter pulley wheel will be more efficient. A 4” diameter pulley with bushing is smoother and easier travel of the rope than a 2” with ball bearings.

    Hey Casey! You have a magnificent thumbnail, what is your process?

    • @CaseySnyder
      @CaseySnyder  4 роки тому +2

      Hey! Sorry I am slow to replying to this question. I studied film and graphic design in highschool so I know basic photoshop skills. I just study other thumbnails, try to emulate, then ask my wife what she thinks and tweak it before posting.

    I also use dry graphite once a month on all my pulleys. Was wondering if anyone uses a different product and benefit of ?

    • @CaseySnyder
      @CaseySnyder  Рік тому +1

      Dry graphite is not recommended by DMM. See this page for reference: dmmwales.com/knowledge/april-2021/carabiner-inspection-maintenance

    What is the efficiency of the Eccentric ? Any better than the Rapide ?

    • @CaseySnyder
      @CaseySnyder  4 роки тому +1

      I believe the efficiency is the same as the Rapide as they both use a ball bearing to rotate the pulley. Potentially they are more efficient as the shape of the Eccentric is designed to guide the rope through the pulley in a smoother manner.
