I would also like to add that a track that has 336 studs in the pattern I have vs a track with 336 studs that has studs down the center will not handle the same. My track show in this video will make a sled run tighter than the track with studs in the center because there’s more flex and less penetration.
that and I am by no means a teacher! Lol I’m doing my best. After sitting down and re-watching. I should have went more in depth on some things and additional topics. It always happens to me🤦🏻♂️
I have never raced ovals, but I have ran ice drags and speed runs, as far as track tension and speed, what we found when tuning for speed with stock rear skids with 9811 racing tracks and ice picks was that too loose robs several mph in a 1000 foot run, not running straight will loose a bit more. To tight? Not gonna lose much, its better than to loose. And I concur on not running many or any studs in the center
If your running the track tight studs down the center won't flex.they bite.on the drag sleds they penetrate.and at speeds think of it as a top fuel tire going into a corner at the end of the straight will give you more bite cause the tracks do balloon slightly.
Looking at getting into oval racing, not new to sleds but green when talking about ovals. Would you prefer a .525 or .725 lug track? Guessing it’s going to make a difference on how “clean” the ice is? But figured I’d ask if there was anything else to consider.

Can you talk about front shock set up 9:10
Explaining the method to your madness is awesome. Sounds pretty straight forward but can be confusing learning for the first time

Good stuff! I'm trying to find a video on handlebars.
Can you talk about front shock set up .
This is very good info, especially the track tension section for me, thankyou!
It would be cool to see you make a vintage oval mod build 76-79 Polaris tx or starfire.

Hey bud is there a ski setup like one taller or more camber for the corners
I cant wait for the racing season to start excited to come out with bill and watch you whoop some ass all day long
I have a question on your set up do you use different shocks from left to right or stiffer springs on one side and softer on one side .
