Thanks for the tour. Thanks also for your sensitivity to the existence of slave labor on all Southern plantations. It's important to preserve houses and properties like these to give Americans and the world an accurate representation of life before the Civil War.
Love the LARGE rooms. Come back in the Spring with all the azaleas-Beautiful. The majority of whites did not live like this, for many were poor. We visit the pretty gardens in Spring & Fall. However, it was a very sad history for many. Thank you for the tour.
Wow, this is great! Thank you for taking the time to film and provide so many historical highlights! Like and subscribe, all! This man deserves the support for his incredible work!
Hello From Texas - This was a wonderful tour. It was great that this house is still with us for history sake. And a marvel that a good part of everything is original. All the structures have strong bones still, and yes, they did live high on the scale. This house and grounds, is a treasure and a joy. I wouldn't mind moving in. Thank you for your work and time. Soooo enjoyable to see history face to face. May the good Lord bless your work, bless you, and your family. Take care, be safe.
Wow, thank you dearly for all the kind words❤️❤️❤️; it means the world to get feedback like this! I thoroughly enjoy this hobby and hopefully I can do it full time one day. God Bless!
Excellent tour and commentary! Thank you for also showing the architecture and structure. I’m not sure how your site landed on my feed, but I am so happy you did.
You're so very welcome, and I'm glad that it landed on your feed, too! Welcome to the channel, and I look forward to providing many more for you ❤️ stay in touch!
Loved this tour! I’m brand new to your vlog. Just subscribed! I really loved this honest and from the heart tour. I’m looking forward to watching many others. After watching the NYE vlog, I’m an even BIGGER fan! lol I think you’re great and keep up the good work. My interests with regard to UA-cam started out as Civil War and antebellum homes…and now I’ve read a bit of Martha Turnbull’s gardening diary…so there’s that!
Oh well thank you so very much for that compliment! I love doing these types of vlogs myself, I wish that I could do them a lot more often. And hopefully as the channel grows and I earn more money, I can travel further out and do more just like them. And thank you so much for subscribing, too! I can't tell you how much that means to me ❤ Looking forward to keeping in touch!
In Spring 2021, I visited the Oakley Plantation House/Audubon State Historic Site. It is also a must see. John James Audubon was a tutor to Eliza Pirrie the daughter of the plantation owners.
@@travelwithoutacause yes! Glad it’s on the list. I can’t recall correctly, but at the Oakley, I think there was a “cold frame” off a little distance to the left of the house (when looking at the front). I’m looking forward to your comments on the inside of the Oakley, at least one or two aspects, lol.
@@travelwithoutacause My Godfather (Lee Stelly) was the arborist for Avery Island for many decades and he passed away recently and the family allowed my family to spread his ashes on the property under some rather large oaks he used to tend to.
Thoroughly enjoyable, outstanding !!!! Biggest thnx .....
@@toddgeorge4111 thank you so much for the compliment, and thanks for watching!
Very beautiful. Not only the house but the trees and flowers. Another great vlog. Thank you for showing. Have a wonderful day.
It was very much my pleasure! And thanks so much :)
So much of lovely history

I wholeheartedly agree, and you're very welcome. Indeed it's important to study it, learn from it, and better ourselves for tomorrow.
Thank you for taking us along!
You bet! It was my pleasure

Indeed; and yes, I'd love to see the Azaleas bloomed!
Loved the video. This is one of my favorite tours and plantations I've visited. The cemetery in St Francisville is also worth a look.
Oh I'll have to check that out, too! Thanks for the recommendation!
What a beautiful place. So nice to see all the original things. So glad this place was preserved. What a beautiful(witness) Oak tree.
Oh yes, one of my favorite videos yet! I loved that place; could've spent days there easily ❤️

Wow, thanks for that! It's wonderful to hear such words of encouragement and support. Thanks a million!

Thank you Karen!
really enjoyed it,..... thank you!
Glad to hear!
Thanks! I was raised on dairy farm, we raised tobacco and cotton, beautiful place!
You're very welcome! Which was easiest between cotton and tobacco?
@@travelwithoutacause you welcome! Tobacco, had a planter that you sit on put plants in the ground! That was fun as child ! 🤗🥰

@@JohnnyUtah15 absolutely! You can trust that I'll have plenty to say about it, as I'm sure it'll be a treat!
Again, great content, but the music is too loud in the background. At times, I can't hear what you are saying. Videos are excellent!!!!
On the contrary; I love the Chamber music in the background. It really set the period mood.
It's a constant battle of getting the right volume during editing haha. Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for watching!
@@davidwelch4841 thanks so much!
Rip Van Winkle Gardens and the plantation home would probably be another video idea for you.
Oh absolutely! I need to figure out how to get granted access to that place.. And hopefully Tabasco factory and all that.
Also, Longfellow in Saint Martinville would be another good location.

It would be. I’m not really into being on film though. 😂
Nicely presented. Thanks.
