- This was our first trip back to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, in about 4 years. There were some changes in the Port and downtown but for the most part, it looked the same. We were disappointed not to find many local street vendors and market vendors. We could not sample the local foods.
New subscriber here. Watching from Barbados🇧🇧
Thank you! We just got off Carnival Celebration today. Lots of uploads coming in the next week.
By the way, Barbados is my favorite island. Is Ackee Tree Restaurant still there?
Snow cone is out of season no Jamaica do that any more because of the bottle water sales plus soft drinks and last no more selling of the hard ice to shaved 🍧 all in the past my brother thank for the highlight 🙏🙏🙏💫💫
All the buses in port are for what ?
Paid excursions booked through Carnival or selling various tours in the cruise port.
How much did the drivers want for tours outside the port
We have never done one and never asked. But, you can haggle with them until you agree on a price to and from the cruise port.
Juta appears to be the best and safest. Outside the port, locals will offer to take you around at cheaper prices but safety is a concern.
@@DiamondMasters thanks my friend I’ll check them out

Why everyone says this place dangerous? The people seem lovely .
For us, it's a nice town. There are many very visible local police although we have never seen any incidents. The only issue are persistent locals wanting to help or sell you stuff.
theyre just pushy but u just gotta know the game and respect it
It depends on the city and how far you get off the beaten path. In Montego Bay I had people grabbing by the arm and offering me every drug known to mankind. In Ocho Rios, I was roofied and very narrowly escaped kidnapping. Dude, it is VERY dangerous.
