Many centuries ago due to Persians in northern India many Persian instrument were used that later were modified by the Indians. Tar became sitar and so son.

Persian is not a normal middle Eastern language, it combined with Kurdish and Hindi have similar elements to European languages even if the script is foreign, they're gonna be easier to learn for a native English speaker than say Arabic or Chinese for example
