I knew she was one of the Budweiser dogs. I said hello to her and she was sniffing my clothing. I had 2 dogs & 4 cats at home so she had a lot to smell. I looked around and couldn't find anyone near by. I was looking for either an employee or someone to get an employee. In the meantime, I didn't want her to run off. Now the yelling flashed back and I thought, oh they must have been trying to get her to stop running. @@caelachyt agree, I've been up on smaller wagons and room is tight. Assistant had to help driver as things were going wonky and the dog had to be tossed for everyone's safety. I think the horses were having an off day and the ring was a bit small for the full eight horse hitch to maneuver comfortably in. Glad the situation was corrected quickly and the pup although scared looks ok for his unplanned dismount.
The guy pushes Barley off in grabbing for the reins. He should of had the dog sitting down if there was a chance he'd have to grab for the reins. No wonder he ran off so fast. Poor Barley!
They weren't looking at the dog, they were twisting their necks to relieve the pressure from the very tight bearing reins. Bearing reins were described in the novel Black Beauty by Anna Sewell about the many forms of horses abuse. Horse and people are being injured and killed and news of this is being hushed. Bearing reins are causing injuries and deaths in shows and parades but the word never gets out. The name bearing rein was changed to overcheck rein to throw people off but the result is the same. Much horse agony and pain. Animals can't cry so no one notices unless you look carefully.
@@jamihede4440 watch real horses ,not horses on videos, watch when they are harnessed, unharnessed, their reactions, I have been studying harnessed horses for years to come to this conclusion. I did not come to this conclusion lightly or overnight. Animals are not able to complain, it has taken 50 years for something to start being done about Tennessee Walking horse abuse. I have taken videos of harnessed horses and played them slo-motion, backwards, forwards and these animals are in pain. I have been working in the horse industry a long time and have heard every excuse unmanageable for how things are done.
@@jamihede4440 they can move their heads around but ALSO watch in bearing rein restrained horses, when they stop after pulling a load, they almost always lower and stretch their necks. I admit I do not precisely know why they must do this but they get even more agitated when they stop and can't lower their heads.
I studied horse behavior and their head movements are not playful. The only time horses thrash their heads in this manner us when they are fitted with a bearing rein.
Read what I said, watch real horses Behind the scenes when horses are hitched and unhitched, the change in attitude when the overcheck rein is attached to the harness saddle hook. I worked horse shows behind the scenes and have been listening to horseowners bull (spin) for a lot of years, and I know spin when I hear it. I bought a former bearing rein horse and it took years for her to learn that I was not going to attach a bearing rein. She knew exactly in the harnessing process that the bearing rein would be attached and reacted the same way each time at the very moment the rein would have been attached. She went ballistic would put it mildly. She reared up and spun around in the harness and snapped the 3/8 inch thick wagon tongue pin. And she wasn't a big powerful draft horse, just a 14-2 light weight, not even a halflinger, she did this even when line driving, anytime someone came near her withers like to hook up the overcheck.
Transfers used to maneuver 8 horse hitches in crowed street and narrow back alleys behind the bars. Alot less room than a big round ring and none of the horses were fitted with bearing reins. A good teamster could maneuver his team by voice alone without the reins at all, I like to see the current Budweiser teams do that.
The dog did not fall off but was pushed off. What happened was the lead horses were going to turn back into the other horses. This happened last month in San Antonio it is very dangerous to the horses. The gear gets tangled up and the horses could be injured. In San Antonio he jumps off to try to stop them but was to late.
In the split second to make a decision the dog was in the way. You always have to make a choice to make less of a disaster. Didn't look like any animals were seriously hurt. Really good outcome.
Used to watch them train in St Louis 65+ years ago, but will never forget seeing Augie Busch bring them into the stadium at a dead run when the cardinals won the World Series in the 70s. Still puts a lump in my throat.
He dropped the rein and was trying to catch it and pushed the dog right off. I'm not sure why the leads turned around, perhaps the rein got stuck on something and was pulling?
That dog didn't FALL off the wagon, he was pushed so the guy could grab the reins. That sucks, but the horses are their priority, I suppose. I'm glad the dog is okay.

Noticed the lead team follows the dog into the horse trailer when they are done.
Dalmatians were used by firemen to keep their horses calm.
dude kinda crushes into the dog then elbows him right off the seat it looked like but Ive often thought that spot where the dog sits is not tall enough sides to safely keep the dog in that spot
Looks like the assistant shoved him off to grab at the reins.
@@ellengallerani9836 - Yes, I understand the action. I just took issue with the caption's description. Glad the doggie was okay :)
Glad the dog is okay
Bumped off - poor baby.
Barley can easily slide of this cousin ! It is a dangerous job ! Dear Barley,❤️🐶❤️stay safe !❤️🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎❤️
When something goes wrong, it highlights the skills needed to normally get it right.
Poor Fella, took it like a true coach dog!
Beautiful horses. Beautiful wagon. Too bad their space was just a bit too small, lol.
They need to rename the dog Hops. But really thank god that wonderful animal was not hurt badly.
The guy pushes Barley off in grabbing for the reins. He should of had the dog sitting down if there was a chance he'd have to grab for the reins. No wonder he ran off so fast. Poor Barley!
Not sure....but it seemed as though the horses turned towards their little Buddy to see if he was ok. Kudos to the humans for keeping their cool.
The dog says I meant to do that 😂
I seen enough of these videos to come to the conclusion that the arena's are too small for all that maneuvering.
Madam_Meow99
That's 1 of the biggest arena I've seen them operate in.
@@elaineluikart5459 they have ample space to maneuver in the arena. Can't you see?
The best bit is when the commentator shuts up and the terrible music is turned off so you can hear the driver giving his instructions to the horse.
THANK GOODNESS THEIR SKILLED TRAINERS AND HANDLERS... THANK GOD THE DOG WAS ABLE TO RUN OFF THE FIELD UNDAMAGED 😃😍🐴🐎👍
This is when Budweiser was an American company full of pride for America.
The dog did not fall off but was pushed off. What happened was the lead horses were going to turn back into the other horses. This happened last month in San Antonio it is very dangerous to the horses. The gear gets tangled up and the horses could be injured. In San Antonio he jumps off to try to stop them but was to late.
I absolutely love those beautiful horse's. Maybe some day I will get to see them.🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
Most any fair or horse show and they may well show up. Perhaps the Wells Fargo hitch!
Love the crew…always ready for anything!
Honestly it’s too tough to do those maneuvers with that many huge horses in a tiny arena
Horses are not stupid you could see they were wary as to tight a turn they would feel the carriage not balancing right
I think any one who criticises should try and maneuver 8 Clydesdales.
I glad the pooch is ok.good puppy poo
amazing!!! love and congrats to all
The driver handling the reins is very well trained too people. That''s how many reins PER HAND? Yup, some good driving :)
Barley are you okay baby!🐶
I hate beer or Alcohol but Love these horses
I LOVE THE LOCKSTEP THE CLYDESDALES WERE DOING BEAUTIFUL HORSES
They are loving their song!!
Clydesdales are so very beautiful
Very tight area for these horses to operate in. Incredibly well trained
When the co-star has been hitting the sauce before the show.
Love horses. Beautiful never been to a rodeo. Appreciate live stock.
Barley’s thinking-I shouldn’t have had that second bud!😅
Love the voice over describing. Just listen, then really watch them in the turn. Same as people do in a parade.
I saw them at n.y state fair. They are treated well they had air conditioning in their barn. They do have large feet
Hope they are still All okay!!!! Love em so!!!!!!!!
I want to see them one day beautiful horses
In the split second to make a decision the dog was in the way. You always have to make a choice to make less of a disaster. Didn't look like any animals were seriously hurt. Really good outcome.
Those are beautiful horses!
Used to watch them train in St Louis 65+ years ago, but will never forget seeing Augie Busch bring them into the stadium at a dead run when the cardinals won the World Series in the 70s. Still puts a lump in my throat.
THESE HORSES KNOW THAT THEY ARE SPECIAL!
He dropped the rein and was trying to catch it and pushed the dog right off. I'm not sure why the leads turned around, perhaps the rein got stuck on something and was pulling?
Clydesdale Horses- another export from Scotland
Thank God none of them were hurt.!
Beautiful horses indeed
That dog didn't FALL off the wagon, he was pushed so the guy could grab the reins. That sucks, but the horses are their priority, I suppose. I'm glad the dog is okay.
5:40 dog falls off wagon? Homey clearly threw him off the wagon LOL
That poor dog. Everyone is so obsessed with the Clydesdales. The dog is obviously injured. Look at the way he runs away, intelligent move to run clear, but it appears that the left rear hip/hock was injured. Someone please respond if anyone knows how the Dalmatian is?
I literally go to this fair every year in Michigan. So funny how the algorithm works sometimes lol
Any announcement made if the dog was ok & not hurt. I didn't hear on the video, anything about the poor dog.
Saw Clydesdales at Bush Gardens in Williamsburg. A foal had been born in the past few days. He was well over 6ft and still had his skinny wobbly legs. Jake was his name. Absolutely beautiful horses and taken care of better than a lot of humans. Very happy & healthy horses.
Poor baby. I am glad he is ok. I hate when things happen to animals. Dog, cat, horse, etc.
The dog seemed a little restless from the beginning. It might pay to let Barley "relieve" himself first in the future!
I fell off the wagon too. Cheers!
