If you watch the first Gagavisions, you can see how much effort and work she put on to becoming a star. It's iconic how she created a record about the fame while chasing the fame and actually achieving the fame in the end. I love a hard working great quality visionary ahead of their time popstar
Love Game was ABSOLUTELY a sexual awakening for me - also I rewatched the Paparazzi vid for the first time in a while and uhm, it's a Masterpiece? The costumes alone are mind blowing. Mugler sweetheart? I died
The excitement of hearing a new Gaga song come out on the radio in 2009 was so electrifying. I feel sorry for anyone who didn't get to experience that feeling. "Just Dance" is my favorite song off of that album - I still get a big smile when I hear the beginning come on the radio now, 11 years later, and I do the choreography. There's just something thrilling about hearing Gaga coming through the radio! 😎
@@rayanna7188 yes! She was definitely the "It" girl back in 2009-2010. I first saw her perform live in May 2009, and it was amazing. I'm glad she's still performing, but there was a magic to that Fame era that can never be recaptured.
Legend has it Spacebowboy and Lady Starlight are still waiting in a Budapest hotel room for gaga to come back from “the vending machine” (they’ve been there since 2010)
@@jacksweeklymusicreviews3411 there can be 100 people in the room and 99 of the people don’t believe in you but 1 person believes in you and that 1 was none other than Bradley Cooper. Lady Starlight is stuck in the room with the other 99 :(
Mine too! I first saw Gaga in a smaller scale concert in Austin, Texas in May 2009, and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. No big special effects or wide scale choreography - just Gaga and her three male backing dancers - I don't think Space Cowboy was there, but I could be wrong. Intimate and amazing! When she sang the beginning of "Poker Face" and mentioned Texas, the crowd went crazy. Good, good times. "The Fame" forever! 😎⚡
Additional facts: - Starstruck was supposed to be the 2nd single, but the songs were reconsidered again once Just Dance was released. - Boys Boys Boys was supposed to be the 5th and last single, but was scrapped by her record label to start up the Fame Monster era. - She has been working on the album with Robin Fusari in 2007, and apparently more than 100-200 songs were recorded, most of them unknown. There are a lot of them, but I chose to name a few
I’ll never forget when I first heard just dance, love game, poker face and paparazzi on the radio I thought they were all different people. Finding out it was all one person was mind blowing to me as a 12-13 year old. She’s a legend and this era is the definition of legendary. I LOVE MONEY HONEY
Paparazzi. I just don't get it. It has been YEARS and I still listen to it on a daily. Just think about it. Its like a transition. High pitched vocals with a bob cut and bangs. While all her other singles Just Dance, Poker Face, BDR, Eh Eh featured her iconic shoulder-length platinum/blonde locks with bangs at her eye level. Then just like that from September 2009 to October 2009 her bob got frizzy and humid and thus the Fame Mons𓋹er was born. I Can't. IdC. I love it. This is my favorite era. I wish I would have gone a couple of blocks down on my soon to be BFs bday when she was at the Ritz!!! Ugh where tf was I 😭💔
Definitely! I have TFM recorded, BTW and Artpop written, Joanne outlined, and if she’s delayed I might talk about A Star is Born but WB is killer about copyright.
I'm probably in this tiny tiny minority of her fans who prefer VMA 2011 performance to her VMA Paparazzi. The show she did there with a rock song, in drag, while all the other pop sweethearts in the public went beyond and above to match her style, she outdid them again. And took us all by surprise, showcasing her piano&voice capacities without overly campy staging flare like blood or white panties wore on faces.
Imagining a new ⚡️ The Fame Ball 🪩 setlist : - Intro “My Name Is” - Just Dance - Beautiful Dirty Rich - I Like It Rough - Interlude in the Bus - LoveGame - Boys Boys Boys - Money Honey - The Fame - Interlude in Prison - Paper Gangsta - Starstruck - Paparazzi - Final Interlude - Brown Eyes - Eh Eh (Piano) - Eh Eh - Poker Face (piano) - Poker Face
Also why has she never performed Summerboy live?? And Im not talking Lalapaolloza lol because that's the only live performance that exsists but that includes Dirty Ice Cream and Blueberry Kisses. So why tease me Gaga 😭 Does anyone know who what when where why or how?
Ok long story short, those songs (Dirty Ice Cream and Blueberry Kisses) were songs bought back by Interscope from Island Def Jam that at one point were considered for the album. Summerboy was one of the earliest post-Def Jam songs and amongst the earliest cuts made for the Fame! I think she just doesn’t like the song enough to perform it again or on tour back then.
Production in "Beautiful Dirt Rich" isn't bad just because you don't like the fact that it isn't an electropop song. BDR is a big beat / trip hop song, it sounds very different from the rest of the song but it is a great song either way, I do agree it doesn't work as a single... That type of music just wasn't very popular in 2008-2009
It was a promo/buzz single also used to promote a show on ABC at the time of its release. I don’t consider it a single-single because it never got the radio push and was swapped out for Poker Face.
Why Is Starstruck The Fame Disco Heaven Boys Boys Boys Money Honey Summerboy Paper Gangsta I Like It Rough Brown Eyes Is No Music Video And Not Included In Singles?
I was actually thinking of doing weekly livestreams talking about albums and doing live listens! Sunshine Kitty is on that list as is Queen of the Clouds!
Not really, that one was made under Def Jam (or Island?) and never actually was promoted. It’d be like considering AKA as Lana’s first era which it wasn’t.

I love watching those early Gagavisions! It's great that she documented the beginning of her career and increasing pop popularity.
She had that inner fame that led to the eventual external fame
that's mom
Love Game was ABSOLUTELY a sexual awakening for me - also I rewatched the Paparazzi vid for the first time in a while and uhm, it's a Masterpiece? The costumes alone are mind blowing. Mugler sweetheart? I died
Love Game invented bisexuality... yes. Paparazzi is the moment though. Like she was ahead of her time.
Brown Eyes is my fave deep cut from the album.

Boys Boys Boys was supposed to be the 5th/6th Single but got scrapped to release “Bad Romance” as “Bad Romance” was leaking already.
really?
Tell us more
I graduated highschool riiiiight before bad romance came out. even still, paparazzi played TWICE at my senior prom.
It’s a banger! I graduated high school around after Artpop and we only got one Applause... I love Applause but c’mon.
I loved her outfits, she was able to point out
I agree, not only is she an amazing artist, but she's also an awesome fashion icon too
the fame is legit my life i wont stop listening
As always, GREAT STUFF!

Paparazzi is literal crack in audio form.

Still her best album, in my opinion.
I think it’s one of her most rounded out, her other albums have better songs but also lower lows.

Brown Eyes the best Gaga deep cut 😌
Kinda spilled
Beautiful dirty rich did have a video though. Wouldn’t that make it a single?

I was listening to Goodbye Lullaby today and Smile still bangs.

I plan to do a remaster of the Gaga video series one of these days, I had fun redoing Lorde’s PH
Beautiful Dirty Rich did get a vid but it wasn’t the same quality as Poker Face
Was it meant to be a single at one point I kept hearing conflicting things about it!
could you please do cheek to cheek and a star is born?
Don’t worry! Those are in the works!
