I used to go to the East Coast mainline trainspotting in the 1950’s & 60’s at Hitchen & to see these locos. running through there in either direction at speeds approaching 100 m.p.h. is an unforgettable sight. I visited again when l was in the U.K. in 2002 & saw only electrics & deisels ,underwhelming!
Great memories and I had the opportunity to see them at Hadley Wood in the early 60s when I visited my aunt. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John
@@GreatBritishRailways1 l saw the whole class there at one time or another over the years. 60009 worked RCTS ‘Jubilee Requium’ special on 24-10-1965. The last A4 out of Kings Cross,it was thought at the time.l photographed it at Hitchen South,a sad day.
@@GreatBritishRailways1 Hi John my family are all Rail enthusiasts and members of the Talyllyn Railway. I've done 4 Amtrak tours across the USA and we had a super visit to Greenbay. We had to hire a car from Chicago to get there as there was no train service at present. Best wishes for Christmas , JNS Rugby, Warwickshire. Shed number 2A
We’ve got 60007 sir Nigel gresley which is one of the A4s that’s already come back on the mainline 60009 union of South Africa is already withdrawn from service As for 60019 bittern there some good news work is now underway to get bittern return to the mainline 4468 Mallard the speed record holder is no longer got a valid certificate of its boiler And now it’s on display in York with no speculations about what’s going to happen to this engine for the 100th anniversary of its world record As for 60010 dominion of Canada and 60008 Dwight d Eisenhower they are now back in North America which they reside since moved here by British railways
Spot on John, a Superb lineup of Sir Nigel’s A4 Streaks, just a shame we only have the one currently running on the mainline, regards nige 👍
Nige, I believe 'Bittern' is scheduled for an overhaul so double headed A4 might be a possibility. Regards, John
Excellent video John, I was really sorry I missed this, a definite 'once in a lifetime' event
Austin, It was an event not to missed but at least the video provides some of the show. Regards, John

Dwight D. Eisenhower is in good company as it is next to UP 4017 4-8-8-4 Big Boy at the Greenbay Railroad Museum in Wisconson. Well worth a visit.
Would love to go but a bit far for me to travel with all my video equipment. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John

An effort should be made to ensure that at least two of these milestones of engineering are kept running even if it's only in limited form
Well this happen as 'Bittern' should be overhauled within the next few years. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John

Which model railroad company produce all of them ?
It was LNER (London & North Eastern Railway).
