    The Bible quote is actually 'It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.' It's Matthew 19:24 and it was one of my late grandmother's favorite quotes.

    • @willkoestner4159
      @willkoestner4159 2 місяці тому

      You know its a mistranslation right? Camal is actually Rope. Easier for a rope to pass through the eye of a needle. Makes way more sense.

    • @retroguy9494
      @retroguy9494 2 місяці тому

      @@willkoestner4159 Well, there seems to be debate on the issue. It was thought that the original language of Matthew's Gospel was koine Greek. So the word would be 'camella' which does in fact mean 'rope.'
      However, some claim the original language was Aramaic. If so, the word would have been 'gamla' which means BOTH 'camel' or 'thick rope.' Most likely because rope was made from camel hair at that time. Around the 11th century, there was a story about a narrow gate in Jerusalem around Jesus' time that was only big enough for a person to squeeze through. Since camels were heavily loaded with good, they would need to be un-loaded in order to pass through. Therefore, the analogy is that a rich man would have to similarly unload his material possessions (or baggage) in order to enter Heaven. However, there is no real evidence that this gate ever existed.
      New evidence has surfaced indicating that he original language of Matthew was Hebrew as they have discovered parts of an
      extant manuscript. I don't know if this passage is part of it, but the word in Hebrew for 'rope' would be 'tikvah.' The word for 'camel' would be 'gamal.'
      Notice how the Aramaic word 'gamla' and Hebrew word 'gamal' are similar?
      So I think we need to take an educated guess. Camella=rope in Greek. Gamla=either thick rope or camel in Aramaic. Gamal=camel in Hebrew. They all sound similar. We KNOW the koine Greek gospel exists and it means rope. But if it could be proven that the original language was Hebrew, would it have been 'tikvah' for rope Or 'gamal' for camel which sounds a lot closer to the Greek?

    My senator! Such an embarrassment. I never once voted for the guy or trusted him and he's never done anything for New Jersey. Which is why, for every tax dollar we send to Washington we only get like like 40 cents back. It's also why we rank dead last of all the states for receipt of federal aid. Lock him up!
    This is the second time one of my senators got convicted of bribes, the other one being Harrison Williams back in '81 when I was in high school. He was also a democrat! I sure wish we'd elect a republican to the Senate. That hasn't happened since 1972 with Cliff Case who served since 1955. He was a good moderate. Sadly, he lost in the primary to a conservative in '78.

    This guy will not go away quietly knowing his arrogant personality. But he will head to prison perhaps not full 20 years since he has no prior felony records. He can appeal his conviction while serving his sentence in jail.

    👨‍⚖️✋ ~ Wait… Why should he be guilty? If the Supreme Court says the president has “absolute immunity“, and it seems like even taking a bribe would be included in that since it is so difficult to prove it’s not an “official act“, Then why shouldn’t congressmen have absolute immunity?
    And similarly, why shouldn’t police officers have absolute immunity? So many people are furious at cops and how they have qualified immunity, absolute immunity would literally be 50 times more. Let’s say a cop wants to arrest someone with a warrant for unpaid speeding ticket, and that person starts to run away, even though that person is NOT dangerous, if the cop purposely Uses their equipment to “permanently“ stop the suspect while he runs away (I’m using big words) solely because the cop is not in shape enough to catch him, he would get absolute immunity because he was in the process of committing a “official act“ even though his conduct would be atrocious. But if we don’t want the president to be worried about breaking a law because they might fail to act with what they think is appropriate, they shouldn’t cops be the exact same?
    I’m one of those minority of people who care about honesty and objectivity and accuracy. And I care about preserving our democratic republic and holding people accountable based on the rule of law. But it doesn’t matter what someone thinks about the recent cases against the last administration, we should not have anybody who is immune, even if it’s not technically immune from everything but still practically immune, from following the law.
    Anybody have any thoughts?b
