I love how you pose the moral question of collecting 3rf party & just don't blind collect just to have fun & escape. We need more people like you in this space Anthony keep up the good work
I consider PITT the best BAF of all time. When I first started watching Anthony, I always hope he would review that, I remember asking the question, I think he said nah, not interested or someting like that. Still hoping one day he can.
I typically like third-party stuff and that stays true with this figure that’s mainly because there’s a non-deluxe version that removes all of the pitt features and I have seen more talks of people buying that than the one that is pitted out. The fact that you can just acquire a amazing base body is great
I was in my local comic book shop the other day looking at the dollar bins. I found six excellent condition copies of The Tenth comics. I picked them up immediately because I'm aware of the action figure line that has some really awesome beasts. The Art style is very similar to this and spawn comics of the '90s. I don't know how they ended up at such low value but there's such great artwork inside. Very similar art to this
It would be nice to see an official Pitt figure. I missed out on the BAF and I’m not paying $500 for a one. The knockoffs aren’t great so I’m not getting one of those. I got one of these on pre-order. I will buy an official one if one ever comes out. So I agree on mixed feelings and it would be nice if the artist got his cut.
Awesome to have you back, fun video too do it with. We’ve been needing a good Pitt figure. Honestly, people have been asking for it for a WHILE. This was bound to happen eventually, hopefully this encourages him to put out his own figures.
I was surprised there was an unofficial version of Pitt, especially with how niche the character is, but that ToyBiz version was one I always wanted after watching Glenn Webb's video on it.
This is a pretty cool figure! I had no idea it existed!! I still own the original and it’s awesome!! I don’t think I’m in a rush for this one! Keep the reviews coming!!👍
I think its a bit more divisive because Dale (the creator) straight up said he doesnt want to license out new Pitt figures because he thinks the Toybiz figure is nearly perfect (this was awhile ago on a stream and this figure wasn't concieved of at all back then.) But this is also kind of the name of the game if Third Party is a thing at all, it all has to be ok or none of it is ok and unfortunately the little guy will be caught in the crossfire of all this.
Glad you were able to review this guy and honestly I may want him , because I love Pitt and honestly ill take your criticism and use it , to not be too disappointed by this figure
Did this hurt the owner when the owner is not selling a figure right now? Honestly if it hurts the owner I’d feel bad but if the owner has no interest in making a figure then I don’t care. If I was Axi I would have reached out to attempt to get the license.
While I sort of agree this might hurt small indie creators like in this instance, is it really likely we are ever going to get another Pitt figure anytime soon other than the old BAF? Not realistically, so I see this as a company just getting a figure out there for people who want a new Pitt, since the creator probably isn't interested in doing a new official figure or cannot afford to. I would love to see an official one don't get me wrong, and I feel like real fans of this character/design would still pick up the official even if they bought this one.
If they didnt make it we would never get it . The guy has had decades to make money if he wanted to so im not clutching any pearls over here. Ofcourse i dont need it since i bought an exact ko of pitt a year ago from mexico 🙂
The articulation is close to the older figure. There might be a few differences. The chain’s were sculpted plastic, these chain’s look better. The mask and knives are new. The clothes were sculpted to the old figure. Very close to the older figure, except the pricing. The red version is new too.
Good to have ya back man! Also yeah this is just straight up theft, not cool. Also are you going to make a video talking about the recent Hasbro livestream & the reveals there?
So, I’m 46 and just started looking into these. From the time I was a kid and collecting, it seems the industry has resorted to tactics like knockoffs. Sad. Just because the IP for a character expires doesn’t mean it’s ok for people to just copy them outright like this. There is sanctity in the history of these characters.
Hey Anthony! Off topic, have you heard of FondJoy? I see some Batman clips and it looks very promising! I hope you get to review them, would love to hear your thoughts on those. Cheers!
I am fine with 3rd party, as I like to not waste my money on secondary pricing. If someone is ripped off, they should probably keep making figures if there is a demand in the market and take advantage of it, instead of crying about it. This one looks great, feels in scale. I wish they made Timmy!
I think this is fucked. There's wiggle room in my mind when it's Marvel since they famously screwed Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and other creators out of their character rights. This however is a single creator who still owns those rights, and what happens if he wants to partner with another company to make figures? Would this figure just undercut him? Fuck this company.
He got plenty of time to do that though, but he didn't, so I don't blame anyone else take matters into their own hands since the demands are clearly there.
Not sure if anyone else be interested, but you've mentioned pom, pvc, nylon before and after going down a rabbit hole looking at getting shock oil, a technical video about them or applying oil might be valuable.
I agree Anthony this figure is pretty cool but they failed in the articulation department and people can’t use his size as an excuse for the lack of articulation…. Loosecollector’s Monster Hyde is a massive musclebound figure with more mass than this and his articulation pretty much knocks it out of the park so it can definitely be done.
Is the creator of Pitt getting any royalties from this? If not, it absolutely sucks. Not everyone has the means or knowhow to produce an action figure of a character they created. Another company should not steal the character's likeness. That said, when i first saw this figure I thought it was a variant of Hulk.
I’m kinda torn with this one because i like Dale Keown and watch his streams. It’s cool we’re getting a figure but he’s losing out on money with this one. I guess I’d be against it when it’s done to small or one man companies.
@@albertlewis4903 He's been losing out on potential money for 20 years because he didn't put a figure on the market. As for the AF, I also don't like the cloth goods, I would much rather them to look just like the original and not so clean and if you really want it to look like Pitt you will have to buy a diferente head with a different more accurate face that is being sold under a different named company.
