Biggest reason I can't stand Devon's matches. I'm gonna buy the PPV to watch some great armwrestling and to support the sport. but I was been tempted not to for the first ever. I was quite literally sleeping whenever Devon had a match on EvW. Luckily it's always the main event, so I can sleep peacefully without being scared of missing some great matches

On the contrary it's Ermes that i've seen weakness here. Devon showed him how he fights the setup since it's part of the game and Ermes didn't like it and he said "don't worry i'll give you the victory" because he fears he might lose because of the setup game.

Imagine Tyson sparring with his opponent before the championship bout, or Jordan playing 1on1 against his opponent before the NBA Finals.. a lot of it is mental, and interacting this much with each other days before a competition is counter productive, could even change an outcome of the match, the day in the life stuff is entertaining, but doubt this benefits the competitors.

I think Ermes is going to crush Devon, and it wont be even close. Devon just doesnt have the horsepower anymore. He has the endurance, table IQ and technique mastery but not the raw stopping power. He will slow down Ermes hits but they will get to the pad.

If devon stops or any point lasts enough, endurance and strength wise when ermes already had switched to his last flop press transition, when devon is holding him in kings move which is a 2% chance then I guess this the only way Devon gets a round. In remaining combinations, ermes overpowers him straight away without even considering about techniques!!

I love how, as it inches closer to a match, Devon relishes in making everyone as uncomfortable as possible. He can take the heat, so he embraces becoming a villain if it turns it into a fight; which is appropriate since it is a combat sport. Friends before, friends after, war at go-time.
It's not a combat sport. Combat sports are boxing, kickboxing, MMA and so on.

Here is the thing about trying to be completely fair in the set up - every single arm wrestler is trying to get something in that set up that they want. If you just allow one to do that while you try to be completely fair, then you’re the one getting screwed. And that goes for every arm wrestler, they all have tricks.
